InIQuity!

Years ago, my DH had housing in connection with his employment as the organist at a church.  The apartment was located on the church grounds....talk about living in a fishbowl!  In any case, our official address was 11 Parsonage Lane, but the assistant minister always used to tease us, with a twinkle in his eye, saying that we lived on ParSINage Lane!

Are you near Raleigh and/or Greensboro (or are you SC, Matt--sorry, can't remember).  What should we pack, clothes-wise, for our visit next week?

Charlotte, NC is in the southern part of the state, closer to SC than either to Greensboro (90 minutes away) or Raleigh (3 hours away).

Early week forecasts are for low 30s for lows and low 60s for highs, but that can change.

How many days/weeks/months before DR Sandra runs out of new subjects from the confines of her booth?

New rules limit lithium content in batteries carried on aircraft

I hope that's clear!

der Brucer

Yes.

And given the number of lithium-deficient passengers there seem to be for any given flight, I'd say it's long overdue that batteries comply with the norm.

I don't know what DR singdaw can possibly mean by his use of "reflexes".

I haven't "reflexed" in years!  I take Prilosec.

DR JoseSPiano - someone over at ATC was musing about auditions, and whether strategically it's better to audition at the beginning of the day or toward the end of the day to be better "remembered" by the other side of the table.  I was curious; in  your experience do you think it makes any difference?

It's all a total crapshoot.  However...

Most audition days start at 10:00am.  I'd say being in the 10:30-Noon-ish group is better than being one of the first people to go.  By waiting a little bit, you've allowed any staff members who may have been running late to get there.  And, by that time, the morning coffee and pastries have kicked in, and everyone is settled.

I also think the period after the break is good too.  However...

The Bottom Line is that if you're good, you're good...  If you're right for the part, you're right for the part...  If you're possibly right for the part, you're possibly right for the part...  Whether it's 10:00am, 11:42am, 1:50pm or 4:50pm.

"We" can sometimes sense that people come into the room and sign up for "ideal times", "better times", and that they think they will automatically be considered for a callback just because they caught us when were in a "good mood".  Wrong.  Again, if they're possibly right for the show, they will be considered for a callback.  If they're not right for the show, then, hopefully, at least, they gave a Good Audition, and not left a bad impression with the audition staff.  -We remember everything and everyone!  ;)

*I will say, when it comes to EPAs - Equity Principal Auditions - where people sign up for certain time slots, it does work to your advantage to sign up for the earliest time you can.  There have been many a day where I've sat for an hour or more waiting for someone to come through the door.  There are some people who automatically sign up for the last set of slots of the day.  Well, if we end up having a very full day, that's not too bad.  However, if it's been a slow day, and we are kept "waiting" for someone, well...

But again... If you're good and, more importantly, if you're right for the part, then it doesn't matter what time you audition.  We want people to be Good.  We want people to be Right.  We are there to get the show cast.

Just got back from walking Zach.

WHOA!  It's dropped from 35 degrees yesterday afternoon to 17 this morning!

Poor Zach.  If he piddled, it probably froze before it hit the ground!

I don't think Zach was as well-protected!

I think you've found a new nickname for singdaw:  auntiemayhem

Yes, and paint a gi-normous target on the side of your house for them to point their bazookas at.  It makes it easier for them to bulls-eye you from the various vehicles parked in the drive.

Two different sets of people--the owners of the farmhouse are the owners of the many vehicles.  They are not the builders who are responsible for the drainage issue.  Unless DR Jose was talking about reporting the parking lot. ??? ;D

If it's only the contractors, then I agree they should be reported for being non-code compliant.

But if there is the slightest chance it becomes an "owner's" issue, I'd be "mum".

Last night was filled with weird dreams, the first of which I no longer remember, but I recall that it was creepy and unsettling. The second one was about Miami University Summer Theatre, some show closing, my car being stuck in Trenton OH, and taking a bus ride from  Oxford to Trenton with DR Jose to pick it up.  Actually, we were taking the bus to my hometown when I realized we could get off the bus in Trenton and pick up the car.  I remember something about another driver giving me hell for driving with my bright lights on and DR Jose making out with a passenger on the bus!

Was that the M4 or the M104?

Oh, you make me laugh (British accent on the "laugh", please!)

That getup would never protect Zach's whatsit when he's piddling.

All my folks, save one, have drifted in to the office environment.

The "save one" will be here by 9, if she arrives at all (something about a "red eye" from Hawaii yesterday evening).

I've got enough to keep me busy until lunchtime.  After that, I may find the day slowing down...or there may be "new issues".
