Happy Easter, Everyone!

I have just finished eating a yummy meal of Ham and Sweet Yam.

I have to confess that the glaze that I used this time around was very good.  It was made by Boar's Head.  The brown sugar version.

Mom is doing much better.  I am so happy and grateful that it wasn't as bad I feared.  Whew!  Another bullet dodged.

I now have so many digital pictures that I'm very afraid I might lose some if my computer breaks down.  Soooo I decided to spend some of my income tax money on a 500 gig My Book.  That's a stand alone hard drive in laymens terms.

I'm going to start to transfer my photos over to it in some kind of order because now everything is just stuffed on my computer in no kind of order at all.

I think this will be a good thing.

I've never been on a game show but I was on a local childrens show for a birthday when I was growing up.  It was called "The Mary Ellen show"  It was on local channel 13.  Kinda like "Romper Room".

I only have about two real memories of it since it was before anyone could record shows from the TV.

I remember something about being scared because they were popping balloons.  I'm still don't like'em.   And meeting the local weatherman, Roy Leap.  I think that's how you spell his last name.

Does anone really enjoy the taste of Peeps?

Does anyone actually eat all those Peeps?

I do!

and I do!   Along with Bear, Shenna and Mom.  Bear and Shenna are funny to watch  because they can't figure out why it sticks to their mouths.

I know I shouldn't give it to them but they only get about a half a peep each.

They had such a good time at the dog park today.

Jut back from seeing THE PIRATE QUEEN.

Liked LEGALLY BLONDE much much much more than PIRATE QUEEN.

But some stunning choreography and eye-popping design in PIRATE QUEEN.  Stephanie Block was out; teh udnerstudy was quite good.

I am baking a ham for dinner. I don't eat mammal, so I will have a big salad and a big plate of vegetables. I can just feel my cholesterol level going down.

You went to CULVER CITY???!!! :)   LA friends have told me that it's a real up-and-coming place, but I grew up there and still think of it as movie studios and not a whole lot else. Yes, I'm a bit out of date.

It is hard to imagine Culver City a hot spot ;D

Back from a lazy drive.  I went to Staples to Xerox only to find Staples closed.  Since I'm superstitious about where I Xerox, I decided not to try and find anywhere that was open.  I'll do it first thing in the morning.   I ate some Popeye's fried chicken and now I'm watching a motion picture on DVD.

Just be sure to heed the warning that comes with the molds:

"Do Not Swallow Jell-O Eggs Whole"

For some reason, that struck me hilariously funny.

 ;D It is funny.

The green eggs are very pretty.  Years ago I would make fudge Easter eggs about that size & decorate them.  They were a big hit.

Whew!  Our Easter party is over and I'm exhausted.  The green eggs were a hit, DS Rob's girlfriend survived meeting both grandmas and great Aunt Jo, and both kids were pleased with what the Easter Bunny left in their baskets.  Before dinner we watched Easter Parade, which I own on DVD and watch every year.

In the March, 2007, issue of House Beautiful there is a H U G E photo of the FOX Theatre in Detroit.

DR Cillaliz - we've had good luck getting TV series from Netflix.  And don't forget your public library!

All the public libraries in our county went out of business on Friday.

There is a photo in the paper of demonstrators, all children, being escorted our of our local library by a policeman.  It is a cute photo of the policeman holding a couple of the little ones hands.

Now, I'm running the dishwasher, watching The Sound of Music on TV, and polishing off a bottle of Gewurztraminer.

What is EVERYONE'S favorite moment from the movie THE SOUND OF MUSIC?

I know it's hard to choose.......

I love when the Captain starts to sing with the children....  :)

Shocking!!!

JRand-We seemed to have been far too dependent on government funding which was pulled.

Really shocking is a few years back a bond to build new libraries was put on the ballet & passed.  At the time there was no mention that the libraries were in any financial danger.  Now to reopen the libraries a rather high tax increase will go on the next ballet.  I suspect it won’t pass.

It's hard to choose & I might change my mind in a few minutes.  The Captain was very cute when he blew his whistle to identify the children.

hello!

I have been away from my computer so much this weekend!
Both my grandmother and mother are sick...luckily both seem to be on their way to recovery.

I went to a wonderful 24/7 cafe for an easter breakfast with my mother this morning at FRED 62. Very yummy!

When the father and girlfriend are driving by and see the children in the trees. I laugh every time!
