It's been a long day in Toyland and I'm ready to head out.  I may be E&T tomorrow.  It all depends on how well the bomb worked.

I've never understood just exactly why they call the rain Tess, the fire Joe, and the wind Maria.

???

Umm...don't they call the wind Mariah??

Jennifer, that is what I was talking about regarding the ending of Medium.

SPOILERS

<SNIP>

Keith & I also thought the job, Michael Gross & his wife (don’t know the actresses name), would have been interesting & fun on a regular basis.  Maybe they really are moving to Oregon ;)

The wife was played by Kate Burton (Richard Burton's daughter).  She also played Ellis Grey, the mother of Meredith Grey (played by Ellen Pompeo) on "Grey's Anatomy."

Thank you George.  I know who Kate Burton is by name, not what she looks like.  We liked her.

DRJOSE - perhaps it's just as well that no one had the 3:45 pm slot.

MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY.

Danny is trying to impress some guests by playing some opera recordings.  He wants them to know he is up on culture.  The children are impressed.

Guests arrive, "Madame Butterfly" on LP playing softly in the background.  After a bit of conversation Danny says to his son:

"Russell, would you turn off the Puccini?"

Rusty Hamer:  "Sure.  Where is it?"

Gina (Annette Funicello) had a boyfriend in three episodes played by Dickie (Richard) Tyler - who had been in movies most famously playing the young boy that Ingrid Bergman taught to box in BELLS OF ST MARY'S.

He played a football player and was very into body building.  He spent many years as a chiropractor in the San Fernando Valley.

I got a new cd tonight!

Sara Gazarek's second album, entitled RETURN TO YOU, which features what is now my favorite recording of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah."
I adored her first cd and wondered if the second studio recording would live up to the promise of the first - well, it did and it does!

She's been a friend of mine on myspace for quite some time, too.

A wonderful time was had by all at Chez Ant and Ben.

Dear David (AKA Singdaw) took pictures which will be posted.

We had a fine dinner (thank you Amy!) at the former Wai Cafe (now called Lean) and then back to the apartment for raspberry cobbler and apple cake and hot chocolate.

We laughed and talked and laughed some more. What fun it is to see Amy and Greg and David.

And now it's time for bed. I must do laundry tomorrow morning.

Had a full evening of viewing. I began skimming through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Luke and Noah were present today, so I did have some scenes to watch. They were not featured in the previews for next week, however, so that suggests they may be on one day at most.

Next, I finished the second half of Episode 1 of THE JEWISH AMERICANS and then watched Episode 2. Very enjoyable second chapter. More familiar names in this one than in episode 1 but I still learned some things I didn't know.

MONK had a very routine episode. I guessed the killer easily enough but not the motive.

I did like the PSYCHO/BURNT OFFERINGS moment.

PSYCH had some funny stuff with Shawn in a Telenovella. Once again, though, the fake psychic stuff was downplayed in this week's episode. The subplot with the new female cop was very. very lame. No one (especially the character played by Maggie Lawson) is that dense.

And now for something completely different:  today, I refinanced my mortgage!  The new interest rate is 1.875% lower (it won't close for up to 60 days, but I've locked in the interest rate)!  Originally, I had a 30-year fixed rate mortgage, now have a 15-year fixed and comparing the two, I will save almost $130,000!!! :o And I will only pay about $200/month more!  But for half the length!!  I won't have to wait until I'm 70 to pay it off!!! ;D

Just had to share. :)
