It stuns me that there are several of you who showed up here years after I did with 10 times the posts I have.  Oy.  ;)

I have finally found the solution for the dreaded Error 46 Unable to Find or Load ActiveX Control problem that crops up with the latest version of QuickTime for Vista.

I hate QuickTime.  I hated QuickTime even before it was for Vista.  :)

Just recently--I was a regular here for years (like, daily--I think I was one of the first, if not the first, poster on the "old" style board where everything was on one page--before your time), so you would think that would have counted toward something.  :)

You hopefully know I'm joking about it all--I'm in for quality, baby, not quantity.  (There's a DS Betsy joke in there somewhere, but I don't think we should go there, OK?).

In looking at the top posters list, I think MattH, JRand, and Jose need to have a Post SmackDown and see how long it takes one of them (maybe all 3 of them) to overtake BK as top poster.  Here's a topic to get them started:

Software glitch/internet solution punchline of the week:  OK, so both of us with Vista ( ;D) have been experiencing this weird Error 46 problem when we try to initialize QuickTime, which you need to do to run iTunes, or watch some video embedded on web pages, etc.   I have spent weeks looking for solutions, and manually doing stuff I normally don't like to do, like editing registry keys, etc.  So's, anyhoo, finally found a site today that posted a solution (a little program you had to download and run in Command Prompt), which worked!  Hallelujah.  So I posted a thank you to the guy's comment board.

The punchline?  I used two dashes (--) halfway through my comment, and he must have some weird HTML coding on his site, because everything after the dashes runs

I am watching THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

Such beautiful costumes....love the opera stagings.  I like the movie in spite of all of the (justified) carps and barbs.

DR Ben, I just returned from the Metropolitan Room and Lennie Watts' show.  Please share with Anthony that Lennie was absolutely spectacular.  He show was comprised of all Barry Manilow songs - which everyone knew and loved to hear, and some very clever patter, all presented in an expert yet friendly, accessible, and high energy style.  Just fantastic.
