My question for ASK BK day.....which films do you think most accurately captured the fashion of the day?

I don't think we can include a film like FUNNY FACE - while it was a perfect picture of 1957 couture - it's subject was fashion - so I mean a film where the clothes were not the focus, but did show us how people dressed at that time the film was made....so no period pictures, please.

North By Northwest comes to mind - Casablanca - I'm sure others will think of others.

What?  Not the 1939 version of THE WOMEN?

I'm up, it's very gray out but not raining.  I really thought I'd be sleeping a little later today but alas that is not the case.  And I was up until two watching act one of the Kevin and Sean show, which we're going to start editing at some point next week (although for the initial stages of that I don't really have to be there much).

I'll see about the long jog, which I'd really like to do.

Red flowered dress in NORTH BY NORTHWEST is classic - wow!

DR JMK I guess that THE WOMEN is sort of a fashion movie, and all the women were dressed so in character that I can't imagine a lot of those clothes being worn off screen....except maybe Norma's.

Hello, everyone.

I have to drop off some presents today and talk again to the settlement attorney. I truly need a break and hope to spend some time over the next several days relaxing, but we'll see. I woke up this morning thinking about packing and who might want the many things I won't be taking. Until more is behind me I won't really be able to relax. Christmas? Very minimal.

I watched about 30 minutes of Dave last night, so I didn't see DR JOSE in the audience!

The Squirrel Chases always took place at the same time as the Tennis Ball Eating Contests.  I could only be in one place at a time.

I imagine that choosing which one of these spectacular events to cover would be a very difficult decision.

DR Jeanne - Yes, you must take a moment or two to breathe.  Or at least have a cup of hot cocoa... That you've been stirring with a candy cane.  :)

Forgot to mention that the new Kritzerland title is now up at www.kritzerland.com - and you can get a preview of the score by listening to the audio samples.

Woke up to about twenty orders - it will be sold out by Thursday, which is amazing during the Christmas season.

Watching BUNDLE OF JOY on TCM.  Debbie Reynolds is a lot fun - although Ginger Rogers was better in the original.  And I remember that Mr Eddie Fisher blamed his poor performance on the director.

Back from the dentist.  My rear-most wisdom tooth partially cracked off, below the gum line.  My doctor worked his usual magic.  Time shall tell if that did the trick, or if the tooth will ultimately have to be removed.  Thank G-d for insurance!!

Did he blame the director for BUTTERFIELD 8, too?
