I can't believe I didn't even think of it. "Dreamgirls" is a great title song, and the opening montage of Act II is fab, too. Duh!

Thanks for pointing that one out, Jack.

Oh, DR Ron, I am so sorry about Miss Vickie, but I know you have decades of beautiful, wonderful memories, and they will help you over this heartbreak, I know.

And I know many here at HHW are sending good thoughts your way. Again, I'm so sorry.

I agree, DR JRand, "Dreamgirls" is a fabulous number. It and "Family" are my two favorite songs in the show.

I don't know the actor who played Lt. Dangle's "son," but he was a cutie, and I was as taken with him as Dangle was!

But my favorite parts of the show last night were the running gags with the Hummer. Very funny.

I also started on the special features for the season 2 disc of THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW. Looks like they're going to take a fair amount of time to get through, and I think I'll at some point take it out and in SONG OF THE THIN MAN so I can finish up that boxed set of movies.

I did not get by Astaire-Rogers boxed set today (definitely tomorrow), so I do need to finish off THE THIN MAN before they arrive. (hmmmm.... sounds like I'm about to do something to start another mystery!)  :)

I was window shopping for new school clothers for the Vixter the other day and I saw this in the Express

Now I know I am "getting up there" and I am so uncool that I'm not even sure what the cool word for "cool" is these days, but if a see a pair of jeans like this  they are destined for the garbage. Do people really pay $88 for a pair like this?

I am counting on you "with-it" younguns out there to tell me - Am I really THAT out of step with mainstream fashion?

Add me to the list of people who didn't even think of it!  Especially after its brilliant use in "Longtime Companion."

I just read in Mandelbaum that INSIDE U.S.A. and THE BAND WAGON OCRs are being released together on the Sepia label on September 6. That is FABULOUS NEWS! I never thought these albums would ever be available, and I can't wait to get my copy!

Back from our staff meeting. We weren't scorned - we were given our bonuses, which sadly were $2000 less than we had hoped they would be. In fact, the entire bonus is not even enough to make one payment on my student loan.

There go my plans for the fall...

I have a question for the theater buffs among us here.

A friend asked me today which Broadway show has the most different English language recordings of its score. My first thought was OKLAHOMA! but now I'm thinking maybe THE KING AND I.

Anyone have any other guesses? BTW, he didn't have the answer. He was just wondering, and now so am I.

Oh, I'm sorry about that. I used to get my hopes up each year about salary raises at school, and I was almost always disappointed. It was always under the rise of inflation, so unless one had outside income, he was always playing catch-up (ketsup?).

Vixmom I practically live in jeans-absolutely love them and variety is fun.  I think the jeans are cute.  I will not be surprised if I’m the only one who thinks so.  Does anyone else?

The jeans are cute, but they look like someone laid under a truck to get them to look that way. Tire tracks and broken hearts, baby...that's what we're about at HHW.com today.

Today I bought DR Sandra's textbook for the next semester. I think she should use this English degree to write textbooks!

Our minister came to us with lots of fresh ideas to make us grow in our new location. And we are resisting. DR Sandra is particularly stubborn, so there it is.
