On the Wisconsin front - Adam's temp is now normal. Sundee is coughing but otherwise feeling ok and Gabe has a temp.  It got to 102 today but with tylenol and a cool bath (he didn't like that) it went back down.

I actually think I'm going to start winding down and getting ready for bed myself.  I've been dealing with an "itchy" throat and ears today, and that's usually a sign that I'm dealing with allergies and/or possible sinus infection.  And I've found the best way to combat either condition is to get plenty of sleep and rest. So...

Goodnight.

Night Jose. Lots of rest and water got rid of the sore throat I had last night

Hate to admit this, but I might be coming down with something.  I'm hoping the scratchy throat and bronchial congestion are just residual effects of being in a home last evening with 2 lovely cats (and their people, of course).

We shall see.

I think Jose you have completely misinterpreted what I wrote today.  I didn't say anyone should dance LIKE Donna or Gene Castle.  Didn't imply it.  Didn't infer it.  I said that dancers today don't have the JOY those people had, the sheer LOVE (at least that comes across the footlights) and I haven't seen in any ensemble of dancers one that seemed unique, that had that undeniable sparkle and amazing thing that happens - and I'd say that's the case for 90% of what I've seen in the last two decades.  I don't necessarily blame the dancers, the choreographers on B'way simply don't understand what the old boys and gals did, that dance is not just great steps or even not great steps - it comes from another place.  They just don't.  There are a couple who do interesting things occasionally, but that's the exception these days, not the rule.  I really didn't think my point could have been clearer and I just want to make sure that your post doesn't make it seem like I was saying what you were saying I was saying which I wasn't saying.

Gene Castle saw the piece and loved it and agreed with every word of it and for all the reasons you'd think he would.  And his wife, the wonderful Jane Actman apparently immediately put it on Facebook.  Reread the notes, I think you'll see what I mean this time around :)

Well, I have thought long and hard, and hard and long about today's TOD. So many good dancers...Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Cyd Charisse, Ann Miller, Donld O'Conner, et al, and so many great dance numbers in movies throughout the decades...still, I have to admit that this is one of my favorite, if not my most favorite, choreographed number in a motion picture:

I watched a somewhat weird movie tonight, Less Than Zero, with Robert Downey Jr.
Did people really dress like that in the 80's.  I never had big hair, shoulder pads yes, but never pink and brown as the color of choice for interior spaces, and I don't even know what to say about the art work.  Well I did say I like weird movies.

Really windy outside.  The air is really brown and grey where I work, all the ash being blown about from last month's fire in the foothills.

Finished with my viewing - the latest Woody Allen film, Whatever Works.  In this case, despite two laughs, whatever did not work.
