Next, I put in the James Bond film YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE. I haven't seen it in a long time, so I thought I'd check out the transfer, especially since Amazon is offering a sale today of all four Bond sets for 65% off. A great deal (comes to about $6 a movie for each two disc set), but I don't need to replace any of the Roger Moore ones, and the sets scramble the various Bonds around in them. You can't buy JUST the Coinnerys or the Daltons.

I had NONE of them, and so I couldn't resist ALL four boxes (20 films) for $125.

JURY REJECTS NEW YORK TEACHER'S CLAIM THAT SCHOOL FIRED HER FOR BEING A WITCH

Tuesday , March 13, 2007

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. —

The jurors never fell under her spell.

A Long Island teacher who said she was fired from her job because administrators mistakenly thought she was a witch was powerless to do anything Tuesday as a jury rejected her claim and her $2 million lawsuit.
...

The school district claimed its decision came because Berrios did not get along with co-workers, had a condescending attitude and conjured stories about phantom injuries to her son. Her attorney, John Ray, said in opening statements that Berrios was a victim of prejudice from her school's principal, Andrew Albano, a born-again Christian.

Albano fired her after deciding that Berrios was a witch, according to Ray. Defense attorney Steven Stern told the jurors that Berrios had told co-workers about visiting a coven meeting, but was not fired for being a witch.

Instead, Stern said, she was a bizarre "storyteller" who fabricated tales that her husband was involved in a plane crash, and that her 2-year-old son lost his fingers in a VCR accident.

Berrios now works as a teacher in the Atlanta area.

Well, I guess NY's loss is Atlanta's gain!

If I didn't already have the Special Editions, I would have jumped for them, too. I know from screen captures I've seen that they look astoundingly good. On your new HDTV, they should be awesome.

The irony won't be lost on DR JRand56. Aren't Albano-Waite decks one of the the most famous tarot cards in the world?

I'm heading down now to clean the living room, get back to James Bond, and then begin the finals countdown on AMERICAN IDOL.

I am terribly disappointed that network TV has nothing "new" to offer tonight other than "American Idol."

We could all give Grease:YTOTWW's Max (aka "Slacker Danny") a run for his money.

Of course, we'd have to wear tight black jeans, slick our hair back and do a bad Travolta impersonation to match him.

And some would no doubt need to do a bit of "binding".

Good Morning, DR Michael S.  -How are things in Florida?  Any trips back to Montreal planned?

Thanks for asking.

Things are really nice down here in Florida and actually I am going to Montreal at the end of the month for an extended weekend. First time since the fall and I hope it isn't too cold.

Sadly, Mr. jeremy seems to be suffering from stretch marks and must wear a Navy blue T under his wife-beater.

Well, it's a Greek plural and not a Latin one.  Jast as the plural of octopus is octopoi not octopi, since it's a Greek derivation.  Makes grammatical sense to me.  But, then, I was a Classics major.

Really?  Back in those days, weren't the classics really just the current bestsellers?
