We should see SMART PEOPLE before Craig graduates, especially since, it looks like we won’t be returning to Pittsburgh before he moves to DC. :'(

As long as we're pu pu'ing fine dining ...

Does anyone have memories of eating/drinking at an actual Don the Beachcomber's or Trader Vic's?

I have always enjoyed Trader Vic's.  The last time we were there was our best meal ever, possibly do to the potent, delicious Mai Thai I was drinking.

THIS sounds like it might be up DR JoseSPiano's alley!

It's a great book!  And the source and inspiration for some of my food finds in NYC.

I actually just came across the Hungry? City Guide for New York City.  It's sort of like a Cheap Eats Zagat.  They also have Hungry? - and Thirsty? - Guides for other cities, as well as a cool BLOG which centers on L.A. Eats.

bk - Well, since it looks like I'll be out in L.A. the second week of May, how about a second keyboard for a weekend of the run?  ;)

Wow!  That is nice of you.

Well, the Jet Blue sale fares - which end tomorow - are/were too good to resist.  I was going to try to get out there the week before, but after checking my calendar, I realized I had a few work days scheduled.  I had toyed with still going that week, but I wasn't looking forward to the prospect of coming back to NYC on a Sunday, and then having to play auditions that Monday and Tuesday jetlagged.

Sherlock and I must go for a walk in the snow.  I have errands to do and like Jeanne, work to catch up on.  I’m still catching up on things I couldn’t do when my wrist was unusable.  If I skip a day here and there, I’m just getting things done.

I could use some super loft selling vibes.  That pull out from pending seems to have been the kiss of death I feared.

It is nice when a trip can be planned around sales.  That doesn't happen very often, at least not to me.

And I just went ahead and made it official!  I fly out on Wednesday, May 7, and fly back Wednesday, May 14.  -I'll work out the other logistics later. :)

I have dined out on Valentine's day on several occasions, and to my recollections have never had any problems.

Topic of the Day:  I don't know that I've ever had a "meal...at a restaurant that you would consider great, where you just knew you’d had the best meal you’d ever had up to that point."

I've had some good food with good company at nice places, but nothing that I can recall that I would consider "great."

When I go to a new place to eat, my friend Margo always asks, "Was it delicious??"  Well, no...good, but not specifically "delicious."

Very, very, very (that is 3 verys) sad news was just sent to me...the wonderful, and beautiful British actress Hazel Court passed away (she was the widow of actor/director Don Taylor).

Fans of the Hammer Studio's horror films will be well aware of her.

Thanks to DRs Jose and Ben for their insights about the Upper East Side.  I still have hopes for the property at 53rd & Broadway.

Your DVD's what arrived??  No!  It should be "your DVDs arrived"...there should be no " ' ".  They're plural, not possessive.

I always thought that, until people kept correcting me and telling me that there was supposed to be an apostrophe.

The New York Times Manual of Style and Usage (2002) advises using the apostrophe "for terms like PC's, TV's, and VCR's", so...

Since Morgan Stanley came up, did anyone mention famed broker Muriel Siebert yesterday when we were doing M.S. names?  More and more of our clients seem to be using Muriel Siebert's company as one of their brokers.

Her name came to my mind, but I kept confusing her name with some other MS and was too brain-dead at the time to look anything up.   ;)

I'm continuing my J.S. Bach "marathon" by listening to the B Minor Mass.

I really don't think that anything more sublime has yet been composed by any mortal.  :)

I share that view, but about Bach in general.
