That cleaning yesterday made the humidifier very happy, and Annabelle seems quite peppy this morning.  She and Thatch are tearing about the apartment.

We had some FLOODS a few years ago, but they redid the storm drains and since then, we have been fine.

It was obvious that last night's show was not a LIVE recording....all of the songs were prerecorded....and it was taped on many days NOT all at once.....

Maria was old enough to play Mother Superior....and of course she sang my two favorite things: "....the sown dove Music" and ".....lonely go turd....."

Other such things that annoy me are of course "....beauDEE and the beast...." and "...wooden tit be loverly....."

Max and Elsa were good.....and I haven't seen the ending when the Germans say "Arrest that man" about Max....is it in the new stage version that has the movie songs?

DR Elmore, buy an electric blanket, and I'll bet Annabelle will sleep with you.

The motel is totally full, so I think the people are sleeping in the van (that is next to my car).

I watched the first 45 minutes of The Sound of Music, but turned it off when the pledge drive nonsense began.  I didn't dislike it, but I loathe those PBS jerks with their false hyped-up enthusiasm for what's being shown and their constant push for the money money money.

The music sounded as though we were getting a lot of the original Robert Russell Bennett orchestrations, and I kept wondering who wrote the extensions of things, like the new endings to "How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?" and "Do Re Mi."

She comes and goes during the night, depending on her whims and finding a new bed.  This week it's been my bed, the cat tree, the paper recycling bag, my computer chair cushion, and her Fancy Feast carton.

T.O.D,

We were living in Agoura, CA in 1970 during that Malibu fire.

We had to evacuate in 2 cars.  My wife, at the time, got into an accident, and she and two of my step kids had to abandon the car and run through flames to escape.  Luckily, I had my son, David, with me.  (It was also his first birthday.)

I took David, his grandmother, my stepdaughter and our cat to my cousin's place in Westwood.  We didn't know that the rest of the family was okay for several hours.

I am thankful that David is now living here in Austin.

Didn’t watch THE SOWN last night, but I DVR’d it to enjoy when I can FF through the pledge breaks.

The orchestrations are always of interest, and I’m thinking the NBC production here used the film ones?

I remember seeing many “spectacular” fires around the rim of the Valley and elsewhere, but I never lived in an area that was subject to evacuation. It’s a horrifying thing to consider.

This is probably a dumb question, since one can surely look it up (I will later), but is there a setting on Facebook for turning OFF “events”? Or rather, for turning off everyone else’s apparent ability to set “events” for ME?

I thought yesterday was an important date that slipped past me because of the apartment tsuris, and other madness in my life.

I remembered Nov. 9 as the anniversary of Thatch's moving into 202 West 82nd Street, and I was wrong.  I went back to the HHW posts from last November, and I carted him home from Dykeman Street on the evening of Nov. 8.  He's now 14 months old and one of the two greatest loves of my life.

Speaking of Facebook, because I had the nerve to refer to Sarah Huckabee Sanders as a "lying white trash cow," after this Acosta video adjustment the White House is sending out as propaganda, I have been banned for 30 days.  If I'd known that was going to happen, I'd have called her a "white trash lying c**t."

TOD: I have not ever been evacuated, but I have worked in Red Cross shelters when others were evacuated.

Wow.  I don't believe I ever had the option to do that.

What a scary time.  We were in WLA at the time and didn't know anyone in malubu.

Hmm, was it calling her a cow or white trash that got you in trouble?  They really should tell you.
