I must clean up the huge noisy mess that got me out of bed around 8:00, clean the litter, and tidy the apartment before I run a couple of errands. Then I hope to finish up the choral arrangement today and tomorrow, so I can post it to San Francisco.

I watched STAN & OLLIE last night.

I thought that Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly were superb. There WERE Laurel and Hardy.

On the other hand, although well made, I found the movie rather depressing.

Yes, it deals with the comic duo at the end of their careers when Hardy had heart problems and both men had money issues, but there was no "joy" in the film.

A movie about Laurel and Hardy should not leave you sad when it's over.

Long day yesterday. Today will be, too. But last night was surprisingly great, and just what the doctor ordered.

Following a grueling SHREK rehearsal, I attended a 4k screening of ON THE WATERFRONT at the Bedford Playhouse. I’m here to tell you that as many times as I’ve seen it over the years, it has never had this impact. Not ever. There is so much to be said for watching a film under ideal conditions.

Both image and sound were perfection, and the score has never sounded so magnificent. A powerful movie, overall, if you haven’t sat in front of it in a while. And what a lesson in acting.

Mr. Harris wasn’t there last night, but John Farr, the gentleman who curates this series of classic movies, is a fine host who always manages to teach me things I didn’t know. Fine evening all around.

Yesterday went really well. We began with "Say It With Gin" and went on to the Overture and "Please Don't Make Me Be Good." Robin came in and recorded that and her overdubs in "Take Me Back To Manhattan" and "Let's Fly Away." We also recorded Ruth's track for "The Physician." In the afternoon Cyrille recorded "Love For Sale," and Tam and Scarlett did "Where Have You Been?," Tam recorded his verse to "Take Me Back To Manhattan" with the band, Scarlett did a very lovely "Night and Day," and the orchestra was finished. I chatted a bit with some of the players before I headed home.

This morning my OTHER sister and I are going to Goodwill to see if we can find some kitchen chairs for my OTHER sister....for some reason all of her chairs break....so if we can find three or four, at least she'll have something upon which to sit....so to speak.

Thanks to everyone who talked about THE WEDDING SINGER last night, I sent for the Broadway CD to hear it.....since DR VIXTER did it in high school, I am assuming it is available for production by community theatres as well.

I went back to the email after checking Facebook and forgot I had already been there.
