And now for something completely different...

While at the grocery store, der Brucer and I were greeted by Rob, who used to be the manager of Cafe Zeus here in RB.  Rob has been away for about eight weeks, attending (get this) Butler school somewhere in Colorado.

It turns out that he not only topped his class, but he topped every class the school has had since it opened nearly thirty years ago!  They've had to re-write the book on how to score their students, simply because he out-did the previous book on every level.

This didn't really surprise der B or myself, because his background does include military and police experience.  These aren't bad things to have in one's background in these security-concious days.

The bad news was that he, like me, was looking for mint, which was not to be found at the store we were in.  So we all had to head to another store further up the road.

Nine hundred posts.  That just TICKLES me pink or mauve.

We need party reports.  I guess I'll nose around and see what I can find.

I'm not even a bit tired.  I'll stay all night and I'll sing 'em all.

And as PARAPLUIES ended, the rain and sleet started here in Richmond.  I can hear the drip-drop-drop outside.

BK already mentioned the mistake of moving the awards from Monday to Sunday.  I think it has also been a mistake to move them up into February.  I know they've done in March, but didn't they actually used to do them in April?  Spring was a much more festive time...and when they did them on Monday here, it was like the whole town took a holiday.

As for Oscar parties...

Most of the channels I was flipping too said they would be having their Oscar party reports tomorrow.  If I remember correctly, the powers that be don't allow too much coverage "inside" the party itself, just in the standard press room.

At least Joan and Melissa will be having their Oscar party report tomorrow.

Did anyone watch the "American Idol: Where Are They Now?" show on the TV Guide Channel?  -It started after their Oscar pre-show ended.

Well, as I mentioned earlier, I'm hoping to get up early tomorrow and have a very productive day.  -And since the weather is supposed to be crappy, at least I'll have some "motivation" to stay inside.

And I have a headache now too.  Tired Haitian Wussburger Dog am I.

What a great partay!

Goodnight.

I loved that Clint said that they shot Million Dollar Baby in only 37 days.  Henry Bumstead the producer he mentioned was my line producer on PSYCHO III...In fact, the wrap party was at Henry's home in Pasadena.

I'm very impressed with Jamie Foxx and was before I saw him in Ray today and on Barbara Wa-wa tonight.  There was a football movie he did with Al Pacino that he was terrific in.  But on Wa-wa, it was amazing to see how multi-faceted he was.  Those here who dismiss him as a lightwieght and don't think he'll get a role like RAY again are very wrong.  He's probably the next Denzel.

Love Iron Giant.  I'm watching the new special edition of Bambi.  Pretty spectacular looking, although all film grain has been removed, which results in occasional weirdnesses to my eye.  Still, the best it's looked on home video.

Yes, as I posted earlier (I defy you to find it), I think this moving of the Oscars to February (sweeps month, really) is disgusting.  And I don't like it on Sundays.  Monday in April was the ticket.  And none of that blather for three hours.  Just some nice half-hour star gazing and then on with the show.
