JRand - Not all about Esther, but she was referenced in:

I'm as corny as Esther at Purim
I'm as normal as Mom's matzoh brei
No more a snot
Now I love Tu Bishvat
"Cause I've found me a nice Jewish guy

Must be from Oyklahoma, I guess! ;)

(Wrong! But what I wouldn't do for a pun!)

Vibes also for BEN the most spasmodic fellow I know.

Well, I've definitely been in that spot before. A few years ago, my back hurt so bad I could not MOVE. It was like 10 degrees out and I had to walk just a few blocks to the emergency room nearest my Brooklyn apt. But I could not get my shoes on! It took me an hour to get them on.

At the hospital, they couldn't really do anything for me long-term, but the codeine IVs helped me through the night.

How do you get Choxie out of that?

Merely a joke, based on the name of the new line of chocolate candies now sold at Target.  :)

If I remember correctly, the thing that was interesting about McKinley and Garfield as well is how disastrous their medical care was.

He is also spasmo-rific

But we must be careful. Tiger Woods recently had to apologize for saying he had putted like a "spaz", which is sort of a common slang word kids use here, but evidently taken more seriously particularly in Britain as a reference to spastic patients.

Maybe I should watch THE LONG SHIPS....any movie with Richard Widmark, Sidney Poitier, AND Russ Tamblyn can't be all bad.

No! But close. Stick to "The Vikings"

FJL-
Pass on my thanks to the NY State Tax Board for adding an extra half hour to my tax prep, since I had to hand copy everything from my W-2s onto their ridiculous new form. No faith in the W-2s anymore? Gads!

I've known her sister Ruth whose other sister, Eileen, sure never was Irish, and who never married Mr Homocha, even though she was a cream.... ??? ;)

It's used here by kids too.. Hence a certain young (then)Australian player received world headlines at the US Open a few years back.

Today, I had play rehearsal. One of the three actresses didn't show up. She's sick. Oh well, I read the part and we had some fun. The Carrot Stick Girl seems pretty nice. A little "always on" in that way folks can be, but if I can keep her away from carrots, we should be alright.

Rodzinski - They're totally committed to these Skammable, I mean scannable, new forms.  Believe it or not, they're trusting taxpayers even more than before.  But this new system has been a royal pain.

FJL-
W-2 is also the name of the new tax-themed band from Ireland.
They are fronted by charismatic lead singer Bon-owe.

Rodzinski - More fresh tax puns, keep 'em coming.  I'm keeping a list of these.  But again, probably not giving proper credit for them.  :)

Their trust of me is touching. But I'd rather they trust me less and make the forms easier. I don't wanna cheat 'em. I just like being done with it!  :)

Or in the case of Ireland, more fresh tax punts.

Good evening!

I've had a full night of videos and TV.

First up was the rest of the STAR TREK episode I had been watching. OK way to stretch out an unused pilot into two episodes of a series.

Next up was ROBOTS on HBO-HD. I never saw this in theaters last year, and I never got around to buying, renting, or borrowing the DVD. Tonight was my first (and last) experience with it.

The animation was quite wonderful, always amazing what these computer wizards can do to turn these weird objects into characters we care about. And in high definition, the detail was pretty spectacular.

The story, jokes, and action all seemed tired, recycled, and not up to the best of the Pixar gems or the SHREK movies. I even liked MADAGASCAR better.

I flipped over to ABC-HD to see if the network was broadcasting the DeMille TEN COMMANDMENTS in high definition. They weren't. They were using the full frame print they've used for ages.

I think the Cab jokes were ones that Jodie tried to foster.
