I'm really excited about next month's release of the Alice Faye DVD box from Fox.
And then, in March, we get another classics box that includes BOTH versions of "The Prisoner of Zenda" -- the masterpiece with Ronald Colman, Madeleine Carroll and Douglas Fairbanks -- and the MGM "remake" with Stewart Granger, Deborah Kerr and James Mason (who is reason ALONE to watch this version). Both films feature the EXACT same score by Alfred Newman, although the MGM version is in stereo, arranged/conducted by Conrad Salinger.
The original is DEFINITELY the best.
