DR Cillaliz, whenever you think you're having a bad day think of the people on that adrift Carnival cruise ship!

LOL, you're not the first person to say that.   Sometimes when I'm having a bad day I go visit a client in jail.  it tends to give me perspective

My father, the doctor, used to say the same thing after a day at work.  It also made him feel better helping them.

And speaking of that cruise ship. My sister was freaking out because her bestfriend is currently on a Carnival cruise and last time they had had some problem. But alas luckily they are not on the ship with the fire.  I can't believe all the people are eating spam!

What about the people who can't eat spam?

i don't exactly know what spam is. But why wouldn't someone be able to eat it vs starving?

It's made from ham.  Some people don't eat meat for whatever reason and some people don't eat pork for religious reasons, I think that's what Jane was referring to

Yes.  My children would not eat it & I'm pretty sure I couldn't either.

Today I met my parents in Sioux Falls and went shopping at the mall, had a great lunch at Red Lobster and then went to Sam's Club.  I did find a great 3 cd Christmas set at Sams.  The first is Johnny Mercer doing Santa Claus is Coming to Town.   I don't remember the name of the set.  I can tell you later...

What a crazy day - I've been behind the entire day, but got so much accomplished it's just amazing.  I began with doing an edit road map for our new release - that took quite a while, and then I lucked out and got the cue sheet and all those titles matched up perfectly with the cue numbers, so that was great.  I sent that off, then had a fun lunch with an old friend.  After that, I came right home and went to do some banking and pick up mail only to find the banks and mail were not happening today.  Then I sent the track titles to my designer, then I began the liner notes and actually got them finished and sent.  Which means, if the mastering guy can get CD 1 done by Sunday, we can, shockingly, announce on Monday morning.

I think I know what's going on with my cable.  My neighbor disconnected the cable lines from his house.  He wasn't supposed to be connected , but I wonder if it didn't effect the signal in some way or another.

My problems started about the time he started working on his house. I'm going to ask the cable guy if that makes a difference.  It's all about signal strength and interferrence, I can't imagine that the lines just laying on the ground but still connected to the main pole isn't having some impact

Speaking of restoring classic films, I wish someone would do something about THE WIZARD OF OZ.  No matter how many times I hear the movie has been totally restored, every time I watch it; all of the Kansas footage looks totally washed out and devoid of color!

Does anyone have a steam iron that just steams?  If so how do you like it?  I thought I was buying a regular iron with extra steaming power and was going to give it a try today except my shoulder is still very sore from PT yesterday.  I have no idea how this works.  It is from Costco so I can return it if I don't like it.

Ya, JohnG, the mattress I have now is just too soft and it is over 10 years old...which I am told is too old for a mattress (well, the salesmen tell me that, anyhow! LOL!).

What about the option of a memory foam to put on top of the old mattress?

DR Jane that spam article is funny.  They've been saying it everywhere in the media that all the passengers are eating spam. And it's not even true!

Good Evening!

Earlier today, I "immersed" myself in The Forty-Part Motet.  It's an Audio-Art installation at Jazz at Lincoln Center. 40 voices via 40 speakers. Pretty amazing.

As for SPAM - Some sausages contain more "stuff" than SPAM. -It's sort of a common "meat" in the Philippines.  It's very good in fried rice with eggs.

Actually, probably not.  Spam is too expensive.

The pharmacy tech at my drug store is supposed  to be sailing on Carnival's cruise ship, Splendor, in February.  It is her sister's wedding, followed by a seven day Mexico cruise.

Well... It turns out I know someone who was on that cruise ship.  Strangely(?) enough, a few days before she set sail, she started to feel that she should not go on the cruise.  She wasn't feeling nervous about sailing, she just started feeling that she shouldn't go.  Well... :-\

Fantastic day today! Ms Luker is amazing; we began at 10:30 and we finished her first three songs by noon, so we were already 30 minutes ahead of schedule. We broke for lunch, and then finished her second three songs by 2:30, with an hour before the men arrived. Our producer went off to the Hispanic Museum to see the Goya, her assistant went for coffee, and Rebecca, William Hicks and I decided to tour the Trinity Church Cemetery across the street from the Academy.

We ran into a friend of Rebecca's and Billy's so, while they talked to him, I kept my eyes on the Academy garage entrance in case any men arrived early. Sure enough, around 3 our DR DAW showed up, so while Rebecca and Billy toured the cemetery, I caught up with our former DR and gave him everyone's regards, blessings, and good wishes. At 3:15 DR Jason arrived, and I gave him the same, and by 3:30 we had our ensemble of gentlemen, they had their tax forms filled out and by 4:10 we had finished the recording. The guys sounded great with Rebecca, and I send my gratitude and love to all of them for being prepared and so easy to work with.

Tomorrow morning, we have two numbers with Zak and a ladies ensemble of five wonderful ladies. He's all set and excited to be doing numbers with our "Follies" girls tomorrow, even threatening to show up in top hat and tails.  No, DR TCB, he won't be naked.

Great news, DR elmore!

-I was able to catch up briefly with Chris and DAW on the corner of 155th & Broadway on their way out of the recording session. And then Jason and I went to Dinosaur BBQ for some more catching up - as well as some deviled eggs and fried green tomatoes. :)
