I never met a Harold Arlen song that I didn't like!

I don't think men should wax ANYTHING!!

Not a fan of Lena Horne...don't dislike her either...just am not a fan...of course I have not seen her in much nor heard her sing much.

Ok, I'm a little behind on the Educating Rita quote.

BB6 - I think I'm getting tired of it. I really don't care anymore. I do like James and Ivette more than I used to.

Unfortunately, Pogue won't be able to delight you with his phrase, what with this being a family site and all.

That's never stopped others before! ;)

Just returned from THE ENCHANTED FOREST http://www.enchantedforest.com/ where we took Taylor and her best friend Abby and baby Ben...it was so much fun...I haven't been there since my nephew John was a kid!

I pray you don't use Velveeta!

. . .and I like a man who gets down on his knees for lunch, but, that's beside the point.

There is no such thing as Velveeta in THIS house; only the finest provolone will do for me. . .

Last night I watched the pre-code comedy THREE GIRLS ON BROADWAY (A.K.A THE GREEKS HAD A WORD FOR IT)... it was hilarious. I found it on a $1 DVD at the dollar store! I highly recommend it.

I also found a Richard Harrison gladiator double feature DVD at the $1 store which a couple of DRs will be recieving in the mail soon....like it or not! LOL!

I'm back from the lake. I hadn't been to my parents' house for about a month, so the fix it list was quite long, but it's never anything difficult, so I'm glad to help them out.  I did get to sit on the dock with a good friend, a beer and a sky full of stars, so I am happy.

I very much enjoyed Kevin Spacey's singing in BEYOND THE SEA, and the musical numbers, and the costumes and sets...but he movie itself wasn't so hot. If they had left out the constant stream of four letter words I would have rated it much higher.

How ironic! I just watched my first compelte episode last night! At this point, with the remaining houseguests forming the jury, I think I could now get involved.

I've sort of kept up by reading things here and on other sites, and reading the episode summaries on Zap2It.

OK. Sunday is bathroom cleaning day so I'm off to do that now. Will be back later wet with tears over the series finale of SIX FEET UNDER.

Let' s put it this way - I don't find the thought particularly appealing that post-pubescent girls and women are doing things so that they look PRE-pubescent.  It's not only teen girls and women, baby, it's men, too, and I find it all completely nauseating.

Agree- but at least that bit of body manipulation is not (usually) thrust in my face in a public place. The more appalling trend is the movement toward body mutilation - lip piercing, tongue piercing (better than splitting!), etc. I was amazed to see a waitress strutting across a chain restaurant (TGIF, I think) with her omphalic piercing proudly on display. (At least it distracted attention from the lint.)

Oh, I'll get back into it, I'm sure, the whole yelling thing wore me out.  Plus, I was a little disgusted when CBS had the live feeds down for so long. That's the part that is fun to watch.

Good evening folks!  Wow!  I stayed up LATE last night, didn’t I?

I have something I want to share with you all but I don’t want to do anything wrong so I will ask BK before I post them.

Someone I know e-mailed me the most amazing 3-D drawings!

This is what the e-mail said:
Quote
Julian Beever is an English artist who's famous for his art on the pavement of England, France, Germany, USA, Australia and Belgium. It's particularity ? Beever gives to his drawing an anamorphous, his images are drawn completely diforms which give a 3D image when viewing on the right angle!!!

They are wonderful!

BK, is it ok if I post a couple of them?

Either that, or you could mentally listen to the Forbidden Broadway parody, "Poor Warbling One!"  (Three cheers for Norma Mae Lyng!!!)

The only thing that I didn't like about it was that Nora belted the song when Linda originally attempted a more "legit" sound, so it didn't seem to be as funny to me as it should have.

I've been listening to the new recording of Bernstein's score for PETER PAN with Linda Eder, who is much more wonderful than I would have predicted.  Around 1994, I was working for the Bernstein estate on 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE....

So Larry, whatever happened with 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE?

Favorite Harold Arlen songs:
Blues in the Night
The Man That Got Away
One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)

Paper Moon (especially Laurel Massé's version!  It's incredible!)

Sounds great!  It's 91 degrees F here in rainy Florida.  I wouldn't mind having one!

I don't understand the reason behind some of the piercings.  I saw one with a gold ball high in her cheek.  I thought it was a pimple.  Silly me.
