It looks like I'll be furloughed Monday.

You and several of my LoC friends.

When I walking along The National Mall earlier today, there were a lot - and I mean A LOT - of school groups going in and out of the various Smithsonian museums. Many of them were visiting Washington, DC, for the week, and some of them had adjusted their plans just in case the government does shut down this weekend.
Did you have to pepper spray any of them?

That yummilicious chili I made early in the week was missing something and tonight I fixed the problem: grated cheddar.

How about some freshly chopped onions? Or scallions? Or a piece of jalapeño cornbread? ;)

Nope.

I prefer a taser.

Did DR LAURA say that she has a new job as a stripper?

I thought she said she was a stripping whore!

Which reminds me a furniture refinishing business in Richmond, VA: The Strip Joint.

Good Evening!

I had a good time walking around the Tidal Basin and taking pictures of the Cherry Blossoms. Alas, now I'm dealing with some watery eyes, a scratchy throat and a slightly stuffed up nose - Ah, Pollen! -But it was worth it. (Even if the blooms were quite at peak.)

Would that be Sarah Pollen?

Carin posted this on her Facebook page:
My little blue car is dead, but it saved our lives. Thank god for seat belts, airbags, and crash testing! Please always wear your seatbelts.

And earlier:
Thank you all for your thoughts and good wishes. Daniel Okulitch and I are finally home after a 16 hour ordeal. We were hit by a 90 year old man who ran a red light. Dan is in a neck brace with a spinal fracture, but doctors say he will be okay. I was lucky enough to walk away with just a broken wrist and a dislocated shoulder. It could have been soooo much worse! So happy we are both alive.

OH!

And if you happen to get The Cooking Channel and watch next week's US premiere of "Eat St.", you might notice a familiar looking Filipino in one of the segments.

I so desperately want to go see this -  The Vixter was lucky enough to get to go see it with a school trip last week (or was it 2 weeks ago?)
