Yes.

Lovely fall foliage fotos from DR GEORGE...thanks!

And what a great link, DR td!!  Everyone looks happy AND spiffy.  DR CASON is quite dapper in gray....and Mr BK in blue!

And they look so natural in with all those Academy Award winners.

Yes Patrick and Rex and Shirley were all still quite lovely....and everyone looks like he/she is having a wonderful time!!!

Perhaps you can say next time DR JOSE:  "The music isn't familiar, but the outfit is."

Patrick Cassidy, Shirley Cassidy, David Burnham and Rex Smith all sang on the BK produced "Lerner, Loewe, Lane & Friends.  The Amazon listing has sound clips. :)

that worked better.  i enjoyed many of the clips, only wasn't too keen on patrick's. ;D  it was likely the song, not him

I read MURDER AT HOLLYWOOD HIGH today.

Traveling with Adriana while she unraveled the mystery was fun.   I found her mother a real hoot.

I watched NOTES ON A SCANDAL this evening, which I thought was very well acted.

I watched CLERKS II - terrible writing, which was matched by the terrible acting....I don't get it.

The Horn and Hardart Mac and Cheese was...

OK.

Nothing to jump up and down about.  It was somewhat bland, like it had been prepared by McDonalds.  There was no character there.

Obviously, I'm going to have to research some other recipes to build a scale of good M&Cs to bad M&Cs.

Starting with James Beard and Fannie Farmer.

I wonder if Julia Child has a Mac and Cheese recipe.

PS - BK - Don't expect a shipment of M&C just yet.

And, since I've another open-the-store shift tomorrow (and Friday), I've got to head to bed.

Tonight I watched THE POLAR EXPRESS in Blu-ray. I think the movie is sweet and charming but no classic. I do like two of the ballads in the show, and that "Hot Chocolate" production number is really fun.

The Blu-ray is an incrimental increase in video quality from the SD-DVD, but in terms of sharpness and dimensionality, I don't think it's the equal of quite a few other Blu-ray animated films. The motion capture certainly gives more realistic human beings in animation than traditional CGI, but they look a bit mummified - almost zombie-like: not quite real but not quite cartoon either.

I also watched all of the special features tonight on the disc. Unlike THE AVIATOR, none of the special features ran more than 15 minutes or so (but there were a lot of featurettes, just not long). And there was no commentary track so that saved a lot of time, too.

Since I finished right before 9 p.m., I turned on CRIMINAL MINDS to see how Joe Montagne is fitting into Mandy Patinkin's slot on the team. Pretty much fit right into place, the same somber tone as his predecessor. The case involved an obsessed gay man serial killing these women (I had no idea there would be a gay storyline tonight).

And then I watched LIFE at 10. Again, an OK episode, but I didn't think the story was all that exciting. And the Adam Arkin storyline this week was kind of a time waster. Are they going to set up a triangle with these two guys after the same woman?

The actress I was going to interview this evening asked to reschedule it for Saturday morning 'cause she was dead tired. So I decided to get a few things packaged up and into the mail, things that I keep meaning to send out.

JRand, you have a package of nifty motion picture entertainments coming your way as I type this! A little Meena and a little Alfred. That is all I can say.

I've been called half a horse,

It seems familiar, so m,aybe I read about it here on HHW?  Amy Adams is co-starring with Ms. Streep:

Meryl Streep to play Julia Child
Nora Ephron attached to direct film
By TATIANA SIEGEL
Meryl Streep as Julia Child?
Columbia is cooking up "Julie & Julia," starring Streep as the famous chef and Amy Adams as a mastercook wannabe.

Project centers on a frustrated temp secretary who embarks on a yearlong culinary quest to cook all 524 recipes in Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking." She chronicles her trials and tribulations in a blog that catches on with the food crowd.

Nora Ephron, who is adapting the screenplay from Julie Powell's book "Julie and Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen," is attached to direct.

Studio is eyeing a 2008 start date.

Streep will next be seen in the war-themed drama "Lions for Lambs."

Adams has three films awaiting release: "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day," "Charlie Wilson's War" and "Enchanted."
