I do not like Billy Crystal's smug know-it-all style.....but mostly I can't look at Billy Crystal's new improved mug.

It's NOT ABOUT THE HOST.....IT'S ABOUT THE MOVIES......but nobody in charge seems to get that......just show us who is there and tell us who wins.....the rest is crap and a waste of time.

I'm still up.  Last night, we had another great show with another great audience!  There must've been more than 30 or so people!  We were told that we would need to sell 125 tickets to break even (that averages to about 11 tickets a night) and I think that after last night, we might actually be there!  We could REALLY use a profit-making show.

Sunday morning greetings - again!

Sorry about the insomnia, Ginny. I've had a spate of sleepless nights lately and know all too well what havoc that causes.

Thanks, DR JohnG.  Richard noticed last night that I looked tired and we'd agreed that I would not accompany him to Lima today.  I went to sleep very early last night (before 10:30) and woke up at 2am quite refreshed.  I was up until 6, which is when Richard got up.  I went back to bed and never heard him leave.

I often do that which I read so much during the night.  I'm glad you slept in this morning.

We watched CORMAN'S WORLD last night.

it's an entertaining, fast-moving documentary that should appeal to anyone who loves movies, whether you are a fan (or not) of Roger's films, or whether you worked with him, as I have.

The film industry really owes him a lot.

Every morning google sends an email with our calendar info.  This morning I was informed today is World Pistachio Day.  Keith actually put that on our calendar. ;D

But how does Betsy the professional comic in the family feel about him?

And the word of the day is: HIRCINE!

And The Song Of The Day Is:  THE LONELY GOATHERD

Perfect song for BK's theatergoing experience, which leads to a question: In your notes or last night, BK, you said the production mirrored the movie. But did they add the songs from the movie and cut the ones that the movie left out, such as "How Can Love Survive?" I've seen dozens of productions of "Sound of Music" over the years and the more high schoolish ones reshape the entire show to be like the movie, reassigning the songs, bringing in the ones with Richard Rodgers' lyrics, etc. And oh, how the audiences coo with delight.

It added the film songs and retained all the original show songs save for An Ordinary Couple.  Show order was kept, but this guy's staging was just filled with the movie blocking.

I guess Jrand and I will have to agree to disagree.  I think the success or failure of the Oscar broadcasts has a great deal to do with the host.  Growing up, I remeber the Oscars hosted by Bob Hope and the ones by Johnny Carson more than any of the others.  I am not a huge fan of Billy Crystal, generally, but I think he is really in his element when he is hosting the Oscars.

The Red Carpet Show is starting on the West Coast at 2:00 p.m. and the Oscars don't start until 5:00.  Who in the Hell goes to the Oscars three hours early?

I understand the Academy is going to let the public pick next year's host.  The finalists are Billy Crystal and Debra Messing.

I had heard Ms Messing was actually being considered for the red carpet.

Watching the early version of Hitchcock's "The Man Who Knew Too Much." What fun.

But  after hearing those names maybe Billy isn't such a bad idea.

I think we should have Tabatha Coffey host the Oscars......Tabatha and MR BK.

That was very strange.  I had a college basketball game playing in the background for noise.  The announcer kept talking about Seeva (it sounded like he said Ziva) and then he was talking about Gibbs.  All of a sudden I had this NCIS basketball game playing in my head
