I think I even have a copy somewhere. -She performed the show at the University of Richmond a couple of years ago. I saw Lorna Luft's nightclub debut back in 1971 at, I believe, the Fairmont in San Francisco. It was very moving. But I really enjoyed her nightclub act. I think she is very talented.

Back from rehearsal, and it looks like I will actually be heading back down to the New Amsterdam to watch tonight's show. I'm playing for the BIG staging rehearsal tomorrow, and since there are a bunch of visual cues I'm still not really sure of, well...

Alas, I will not be able to join the gang tonight for dinner, but...

If you're looking for a "fun" dining experience, I suggest heading down to Korea-Town - W. 32nd Street between 6th and 5th - and try on of the Korean Barbecue places out. My favorite is Won-Jo (23 W. 32nd) - they still use real charcoal/embers instead of the gas grill tops. It can get a bit pricey, but most of the entrees are meant for sharing. -And if you don't feel comfortable cooking the meat yourself, the hostesses will more be than happy to help you out.

There's also a great Korean fried-chicken place, Restaurant Forte Baden Baden (28 W. 32nd - second floor). It's literally a Korean Beer Garden type of place. They do serve some traditional Korean dishes, but their fried chicken is amazing (served with deep-fried garlic cloves!) - and their "large" serving is usually enough to feed three to four people.

Hmm.. Maybe I will go to dinner tonight...
