Danise,
You have been there for YEARS for your mother in a story of selflessness that I have never heard of from anyone else.

Your mother may have been waiting for a time when you were not watching so she could go without your seeing it. You sat beside her for hours at a time when she knew you were there. Please don’t ever feel that you failed her.

She is finally at peace, and I want you to feel peace for her. I am praying for you.

Today I went to the river, but since my camera burned out all the batteries before I got any photos, I don't have any to post.

Peace and love to dear reader Danise - and I was shocked at the post, and you must heed the wonderful, warm, and loving advice of everyone here.  You should feel NO guilt at all, ever.

Just back from seeing Fantasia's first post-rave-reviews performance in THE COLOR PURPLE.

I'll post more about it another time, but IIRC, I think that before tonight, I hadn't seen a standing ovation for a number during a musical since Liza Minnelli in THE ACT.  (Rose's Turn in GYPSY doesn't count IMHO since it''s so close to the end of that show)

DR JoseSPiano -   Do you know any of the choral music of Eric Whitacre?

If you like tone clusters...his music consists of little else!  Very lush and accessible.

Hmm...

I've been reading the online manual for the yet-to-arrive DVR.  Apparently it has a "copy to VHS" function.  That could come in very handy!  None of it for illegal purposes, of course.  "Fair use" and all that...

My condolences to you sweet and dear Danise. You have been through so much these last few weeks, please take care of yourself and stop feeling guilty...you have nothing to feel guilty about, for crying out loud! You have gone way beyond the call of duty and I know your mother appreciated it, regardless of whether she voiced it or not.

We all love you so please take care and go home and hug the doggies.

Danise, your mother could choose the time to let go, and she picked a time when she knew that you were there with her, and that you were at peace.  She and God tried to ease your pain by going quietly into this good night.  Please accept it as your mother's final gift to her loving daughter.

Take comfort in all the love and respect that all of us here at HHW feel for you.  Your constant devotion to your mother is an example for us all.

I am afraid that my back pain tonight, and the pain pill I just took; will make it impossible for me to assist in reaching 300 this evenig.  Sorry, BK, I will make it up to you.

I have a question:

I'm listening to JUBILEE and GAY DIVORCEE, which are the entire shows as broadcast on the BBC. After a big musical number, and the appluase, there is often a reprise of the main theme as the actors get settled into the next scene. (There were also some of these in THE BRAIN.)

Is there some theatre lingo name for this? I know you all will know!

That is sometimes my favorite part of the score, even though it's a rehash of what we just heard....

And I have to say that I like JUBILEE more than THE GAY DIVORCEE. Could that be due to DR Elmore's arragnements?

Tomorrow I'm going to be going to a meeting on appealing your property tax assessment. Isn't that a fun way to start the weekend?

After that, at noon, I am going to be bowling in a benefit for the Kidney foundation. This was started after a beloved Turner employee died of cancer. They call it "The Kidney Bowl".

Then tomorrow night is a wake for a woman who ran one of the local post houses, a big one. She died last week of cancer, very young. This isn't a place I usually edit, so I'm not sure I'll go. It's been a tough week.

My DH and I have picked out a date to move into our new house. I don't know if we'll reach that goal because we don't have any plans on how to get everything done we need to do, but my DH thought it would be cool if we moved there on 7-7-07.

BK and the HHW crew are so good at setting and meeting goals, but we never seem to be able to move forward very quickly.

I don't think I ever posted this, but this is from opening night of Sacco and Vanzetti in Beverly Hills:

Left to right: Adriana, bk, Grey Harmon, an actor friend and the man of 1,000 voices, me and my partner, Peter.

Over Adriana's shoulder is Michael Roth, Randy Newman's music director and friend of Alice Ripley.
