We had a great Indian place near us, and their special dish was green chicken. I'm not sure what they used to make it green...I think cilantro might have been one of the ingredients, but it was so delicious, and I used to enjoy taking it when I was working places where we had to bring our lunch and alarm my co-workers.

That restauarant closed and I've never found green chicken again, but it sure was yummy!

However, the best thing to do to dissipate the heat is to eat some bread, and drink some milk - or order a lassi - it's made with yogurt.  The dairy counteracts the capsaicin in the peppers.

Also raita, a yogurt-like condiment, is good for that, too.

Just got back from the 12:50 showing of "Sacco and Vanzetti" over in Pasadena.  LOVED the film - Peter and our own Edisaurus (not to mention DH Greg) should all be extremely proud of themselves.

Awwww....thanks for going, Cason! And just in time, as I doubt it will be renewed in LA. We both regret not getting to meet you when we were in town, but...
next time! (Or maybe we'll see you in NY!)

Sound was messed up on my NBC HD channel tonight....

No problem here, so it must have been an affiliate problem.

you probably remember how nitpicky der Brucer got with the release of Writer's Block.

Maybe you could hire Der Brucer. Sounds like he enjoys it!

I hope it's not a boring meeting!

Actually, these can be interesting; it is like listening to gossip.

I knew that no decision had yet been made on SONG OF THE SOUTH. I just wasn't going to argue about it.

McLean's song really speaks to people who were teenagers when Buddy Holly died.  I really do remember the news that day.

My day of birth is on "the day the music died". Bummer!

Hello, I must be going. It's too late for me to post. I must get to bed.

Great new avatar Bruce.

I'll speak about LoveMusik tomorrow when I'm awake and I have ingested oatmeal with strawberries and raisins.

The second commentary track on THE QUEEN DVD was marvelous. Robert Lacey who's written quite a few book on the Royals does a splendid job not only elaborating on the protocol and pomp of the sovereigns but also pointing out many aspects of the film's symbolism. He also points out where they got it right and in some instances wrong. Very educational and informative.

I would have had time for a WILD WILD WEST episode had the phone not kept ringing with folks wanting to chit-chat. Took me right into prime time TV.

MY NAME IS EARL had a good episode with Randy feeling like an afterthought and deciding to find his own karma.

The reporter on tonight's episode was very familiar but I couldn't place her until I saw her name in the credits - Leigh-Ann Baker played Ellen all those years on WILL & GRACE. With a new hairstyle and stylish clothes, she was very attractive.

THE OFFICE found Michael feeling dispondent that his job doesn't really offer any hazards to safety. Some funny stuff throughout the episode. I just love Toby. Poor guy has to suffer such verbal abuse, and he just keeps that same hangdog expression that cracks me up every time.

30 ROCK proved why it earned a renewal for next season with some really funny stuff with Jack getting a man-crush on Liz's new boy friend. Tracy, meanwhile, was attempting to get financing for a feature film where he would play Thomas Jefferson, King George, and all the other roles in the story of Jefferson's life. Rip Torn was the primary guest star.

SCRUBS was the odd man out this week, a disjointed story that had very few laughs as some people mourned the death of nurse Laverne but others just went about their business in the usual ways. Bland this week.

With all the talk of clips shows tonight, I was looking forward to CSI since it was a new episode. SURPRISE! It was a CLIP SHOW summarizing the four "miniature murders" which have occurred throughout this season. Since several spoiler sites have been hinting that someone in the cast was going to die by year's end, tonight's episode made it crystal clear to me who that someone would be. (But, I read that he's in a pilot for a series next season, so I was already expecting he was a goner. Tonight's episode just confirmed it in my mind.)

I had about 15 minutes left, so I did start watching the GREY'S clip show. I did enjoy all the grouped clips around certain themes: "Seriously," "the elevator," "head of surgery" are the ones I've seen thus far. Will finish the show tomorrow.
