(And by the way, for the rest of you DRs...I LOVED XANADU!)

You love Mrs. Miller, too.

A charity truck is coming tomorrow.

Oh, Laura - surely you can still squeeze into a taxi.

DR Laura: Yes, I'm in the process of making piles of clothes: Those that fit, those that don't, and those that I can MAKE fit for a few more weeks without looking too frumpy. I'm now wearing the same size of jeans that I wore in middle school, which blows my mind, so I've gone down four pant sizes already...

Don't get me started on T-shirts. I now have show shirts from at LEAST 17 different shows, and for many of those shows I have 2-8 different shirts in various styles and sizes. I have 8 AVENUE Q t-shirts alone!

Ah, the joys of working on the Broad Way...

I have the same situation, t-shirts from different films and film festivals. But I bet yours at least fit. (Or are perhaps even too big, now!)

Is Papa Yaking open on Mondays?

Well, the 125th Street location of

Papaya
King

was open today.

*And I'm guessing the location of PAPAYAKING in Chelsea is also open today.  ;)

Actually, most of them are too big now. Because I work AVENUE Q 8 shows a week, I could justify grabbing a smaller size when I needed to, but I have tons of SPAMALOT and MAMMA MIA! shirts that are huge on me now.

It has never heated up here today, and I've kept the doors and windows open all day long. The attic fan hasn't stopped since 8 a.m. this morning. This is MY kind of summer day!

Among other things, for my current weight I blame Jose. (And Levain.)

Oatmeal raisin...sigh....glad I don't live in NY!

Well, Levain does ship.

HBO-HD was rerunning HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE so while I cooked and ate lunch, I watched it (again). I got through Harry's encounter with the Hungarian Horned-Tail Dragon.

As they say, it's not the shirts are bigger, it's that the star's are smaller...or something like that.

I may have bought SPAMALOT trinkets from you. Were you working there last November 10th? I met David Hyde Pierce afterwards---he seemed like a genuinely nice, unassuming fellow!

Next, I watched the documentary on the collaboration between author Kobo Abe and director Hiroshi Teshigahara on the supplemental disc in the new Criterion set. It actually ended up being more biographical about the director (which was fine with me).

DR DearReaderLaura - Well, maybe you could snap pics of those kitties with their namesakes.  Or should that be vice versa?

bk, I just wanted to alert you that your favorite critic, scholar, and commentator, Dr. Drew Casper, does the commentary on THE PRODIGAL, so maybe you should think about watching that soon.

Nope...I wasn't working SPAMALOT when David was still in the show. I didn't join the SPAM party until April of last year, when ticket sales started to dip. :-\

Continuing on with the bonuses on the Criterion set, I watched four shoart films by Teshigahara. They were made between 1953-1965. One was on his father's world famous school of flower arranging (the art of Ikebana), and some of those arrangements were breathtaking. Glad he decided to film this one in color.

There was also an interesting short called AKO which was the day in the life of a young working girl and her friends. Simple little story but it was my favorite of the four shorts on the disc. It also looked by far the best.

I hoped to see AVENUE Q when we were there in April but we ran out of time. So I guess I'll catch it when the tour comes to Atlanta. I love the score!
