I must say that Mr Ryan Seacrest is the definition of Smarmy....and I cannot understand his continued success.

But then again, I don't understand why people think STARS can be created by a television contest.

I saw some of those NY police officers...I think it was smart not to argue.  :-X

Why Mike, they might have handcuffed you?

Hmmmm.....used car salesman is a good guess.

I will also say newspaper reporters (not television news).

That would be another good guess, if I hadn't known so many of them.

Well, he's not nearly as smarmy as Bob Saget was on "America's Funniest Home Videos"...the videos were the draw, but you can tell from the reruns that Saget is certain it's "him"...all him!

As for tonight's "Idol" results...I, too, am pleased.

As much for who went home as for the "other" male contestant.   The female didn't belong in that group...a certain blond and a certain brunette are her inferiors in all vocal respects, IMO.

Of course, THE one I'd love to see in that bottom three apparently has a voting machine fit to fix all elections in the bayou regions of the U.S.

Doesn't matter how marginal or dull his performances are, they LOVE to see their man wiggle and squat.

Has anyone here ever ordered from CDBABY.COM? Besides the fact that they have a very eclectic choice of music, and you can have a listen to every CD they sell, they just send out the funniest e-mails letting you know that your items have been sent (they are also among the speediest places I have ever dealt with on-line!)...here is the e-mail I got this time (I get something different each time I order)...

Your CDs have been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with
sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CDs and polished them to make
sure they were in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over
the crowd as he put your CDs into the finest gold-lined box that
money can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party
marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of
Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in
our private CD Baby jet on this day, Wednesday, April 19th.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby.  We sure did.
Your picture is on our wall as "Customer of the Year".  We're all
exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

I haven't booked anything yet, but can do it. I wasn't thrilled with the Comfort Inn, but it wasn't that bad.  I know I'm signed up for their frequent traveler program so if it means a free night, that may be the way to go.   The 3rd through the 8th sounds pretty good. I may book the Comfort Inn for now and see what else is out there

Did you receive my email?  Now that we have something we can relax while browsing for something better.

I can't book my flight since I have to go through the NIH & it is way too soon for them.  The rules have also changed & I might have to return to DC for my flight home-GROAN!.  I'm not sure if I'll fly all the way home or meet Keith in Portland.

Re: tonight's AMERICAN IDOL results.

SPOILERS

.
.
.

I was completely shocked at the person who was in the bottom 2, but didn't go home!

But it was obvious which group was the bottom 3, IMO.

It's interesting that the only people who have not been in the bottom are taylor and kellie. And i totally think simon saying they would be F3 is one of the reasons.

I like Paris. BUt I don't disagree with her being in the bottom. There are only 6 left. I used to like her more. But she just seems too young and not as personable as the other girls.

IDOL elimination.

I couldn't quibble with the person ejected, but I surely was astonished at the bottom three! That's going to shake up a few folks!

Yes I responded. I haven't booked a flight, but the fares are pretty good right now and I'm afraid they'll be going up. But I'm going to wait a little while. As long as I know I have a room, the rest can be arranged later

I started tonight with another couple of MONK episodes. In the first he was investigating a set of murders for the West Coast Godfather. I liked this episode.

The second was a Sharonna-centered episode with her seeing a murdered man turning up in unusual places so that she began doubting her sanity. Not as well written as many other MONK episodes.

ALIAS - - - - -

really stretched credulity to the breaking point with the very pregnant Syd bounding up stairs, falling flat to the floor, flying on an airplane, and other seemingly absurd actions.

Always enjoy Lena Olin, and the regulars were their reliable selves. Certainly the show generated a fair amount of suspense tonight, but with Sydney's baby the object of attention, I was certainly ready for it to be born so we could get back to something like business as usual at ALIAS.

Trust me, if you lived with a women who was within days of delivery, you would have new conceptions of "absurdity"! Cleaning rain gutters, re-pointing the fireplace brickwork, and an afternoon of body surfing are the norm.

??? Good question????

He was in a few scenes this past week in a 'recreated flashback" and he was dressed as a woman. THose were the first scenes I had seen of Days since Jack's car went off the bridge...

Thanks, DakotaCelt. I must have been dozing. I don't remember said flashback. How long ago did the car go off the bridge?
