Now I kind of like BANE OF MY EXISTANCE as the name of my next novel, but I suppose Dan the Man owns the rights.

It's all yours, DR TCB.

BAINES OF MY EXISTENCE - that's the name of my new musical version of the film FALLEN IDOL.

Somewhere. some lurkers who are Ralph Richardson fans are busting a gut over that one.

Or perhaps HAINES OF MY EXISTENCE could be the true story of the little website that could.

Oh good, found the full lyric to that song I was trying to quote from memory before.  :)

You've got
someone who loves you,
You've got
someone who cares,
You've got
someone who picks you up
if ever you need a repair,
You've got
someone who'll take the time
to listen to your prayers.

I've got
You've got
everybody you got,
someone who cares,
by the name of,
H.R. Pufnstuf,
who's your friend when things get rough?
H.R. Pufnstuf,
can't do a little cause you can't do enough.

I've got
You've got
everybody you got,
someone who cares,
by the name of,
H.R. Pufnstuf,
who's your friend when things get rough?
H.R. Pufnstuf,
can't do a little cause you can't do enough.

Soemhow I remember that lyric being a lot more profound than it reads in cold hard type.  :)

Tonight, I will be attending a concert version of AIDA, featuring my multi-talented cyber-son, Jed.  This is not the opera version of AIDA, but rather the Elton John and Tim Rice version.  Even though Jed is a member of the ensemble, I would probably skip this production were it not for the fact that the true love of my life (besides Mr. Barnum) is playing Radamus, or Amos, or one of those Egyptians

I had the same reaction.  And the humor was never forced.  I also had no idea the word play involved with the title of the movie.

I didn't know about the word play either and I really enjoyed that

DR Jose, at the Oscar site--do you have to registar first before joining the group?

YES!  All I could remember were the last 4 lines!

Did H.R. Pufnstuf start as a bit on the Banana Splits?  I was in their fan club and found the fan club manual last year. I know I watched H.R. Pufnstuf. Maybe it was just on after the Banana Splits....

I believe you do.  But again, as long as you don't check the boxes, you won't receive any "extra" e-mails.

Okay, I'm in!

It's all in fun.  I just think it's a neat way to keep track of our picks.  And, who know?  One of us may even end up standing on the Red Carpet next year.

;)

Cillaliz - Now I'll never be able to get this one out of my head either.  :)

{Refrain}
Tra la la, la la la la (4X)

One banana, two banana, three banana, four
Four bananas make a bunch and so do many more
Over hill and highway the banana buggies go
Comin' up to bring you the Banana Split show

{Bridge}
Makin' up a mess of fun
Makin' up a mess of fun
Lots of fun for ev'ryone

{Refrain}

Four banana, three banana, two banana, one
All bananas playin' in the bright warm sun
Flippin' like a pancake, popping like a cork
Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper an' Snork

{Refrain}

Two banana, four banana, one banana, three
Swingin' like a bunch on monkeys, hangin' from a tree
Hey there, ev'rybody, won't you come along and see
How much like Banana Splits ev'ryone can be

{Refrain, Bridge, Refrain}

Hmmm... suddenly I'm in the mood for Haagen Dazs Banana Split ice cream.

Actually, I'm always in the mood for Haagen Dazs Banana Split ice cream.

Or if I can't find that, then Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey.

Former DR Panni is having technical problems accessing the site. She asked me to pass on a big HHW thank you to all who sent birthday messages.

I don't know from Oscars, so I don't know who'll win.

I have a paper due on Monday and so far all I have is half a thesis statement.

And a big fat happy birthday to Dear Reader Panni.

Back from CAPOTE.  The theatre was packed and very attentive.  I loved the cast, and I thought Dan Futterman's screenplay quite wonderful.  I now believe Hoffman will win the Oscar over Heath Ledger, still my first choice, because the performance is insightful and much more flamboyant than Ledger's, whose character is so repressed he can't verbalize a flamboyant scene.  Oscars usually go the the scenery chewer, I think, because a lot of the voters don't know what acting is: they're movie performers whose roles are patched together from takes - I saw Cher onstage - oy! - and a lot of the tv actors I see can really be considered "sincere"  actors. I think that when someone really "acts" in a classy movie with some style and flamboyance, well, they can appreciate that.  Subtlety is not in the Oscar vocabulary.

Joy, thank you.  I believe I was blushing because Penny kept telling me I looked like I was going to my prom, not my wedding.

Continued new job vibes.

The dangling something!

As opposed to that long lost Gershwin song:

"That Dangling Something"

;)

Although, I guess that could be the name of a movie in DR elmore's VCR.

Good Evening!

Well... My parents headed out around 1:00 this afternoon.  They've started the search for a new house...

It's eight and a half hours later, and they're still not back.

Hmm...
