Next, I watched THE MUSIC LOVERS on a letterboxed laserdisc. Despite some artifacts in the print used for the transfer, it was very sharp and beautifully colorful, one of the best laserdiscs of an older film that I've seen in qute some time. The stereo music had been given the Dolby Surround treatment, and it was very impressive, too.

The film is filled with angst and many disturbing images, and yet some of it is so beautifully done that I can forgive it anythng.

My goodness, Ken Russell really put Glenda Jackson through the ringer when she worked for him, especially in WOMEN IN LOVE and THE MUSIC LOVERS. My goodness, what extremes she had to go through in this one.

I concluded my evening by finishing the 1989 BATMAN. There were some long shots that seemed washed out, but I never did see the horrible sofr transfer that guy on the HTF was complaining about. One wonders if he either got a defective disc or had a bootleg.

I got an email from Nursie Jane.  She and Keith and Sherlock are home and exhausted but grateful for all the vibes and sympathy.  I'll let her tell you more tomorrow.

G'night!

Well, our American single skaters had a rough go of it in Japan this week for the world championships. Evan Lysechek, who has won the bronze medal the last two years and is this year's American champion, finished fifth this year. Johnny Weir, the American champion the previous three years, finished eighth.

On the ladies' side, Kimmie Meisner, who won the world title last year with a superb skate, finished fourth this year. Emily Hughes, our reigning silver medalist and who came within a point of winning this year's national title, finished ninth after ladning in sixth after the short program.

These mediocre finishes for the American team will mean we will only have two berths for next year's world championships. We were able to send three to the events this year.

Until he lost his tail in the motor.  It was a sad day for him.   :P

I assume you didn't foolishly rush to the rescue - not like you to lose your head over a piece of tail 8)

We're supposed to have thunderstorms tonight or tomorrow. It's pretty early for that, but nice, it's a sure sign of spring.

I get PMS, too, but that's another story.

I've never had PMS. I wonder why?

Had a lovely evening with some friends from BMI.  They left with leftovers and were going to see a show at a swanky cabaret venue, so we camouflaged the leftovers in a Tiffany shopping bag and covered them so that it would look like they were carrying some kind of gift, since it probably doesn't look kosher ot bring food into a food-serving establishment, or so they seemed to think.

What was the controversial TV show where they said that PMS stands for Pommel Men's Scrotums?
