I have been so busy the past few afternoons, answering the phone and doing such things that I am not getting my work done and am going crazy!!  So I called Martha/Edith this afternoon and asked when she's ready to go full time.  She couldn't talk then because she was at her other job, but she sounded pleased and I said we could talk about it in the morning.  I think it will really help me get my work done if she is there all day.   She has said in the past she wants to do it, so I'm hoping she really does.

Great news and good luck she is all you are hoping for.

Classic flavors - lemon, orange, lime, grape, cherry, licorice, etc.  My family is definitely not into buttered popcorn, cappuccino, mango, or any other "gourmet" type jelly beans.  In the stores, I was finding spicy, sour, tropical, etc.  Finally found the classics at Walgreen's, where, for some reason, they wouldn't accept my CVS card.

I like lemon, cherry, pineapple, cinnamon & licorice.

JR, so sorry to hear that.  As someone who dealt with two elderly female dogs contracting cancer within a short span of each other, take my advice and just do whatever you can to make them comfortable.  We spent thousands getting our Collie treated, with several surgeries, but it was all for naught.  We decided if it ever happens again, we will make them as comfortable as possible but not go to extremes.  Hope that doesn't sound too callous.

Having gone through this with pets it sounds caring, not callous.

Our new dog training class was interesting.  This is with a different trainer.  The first class was very exciting, which I expected.  I'm hoping for new suggestion and idea for training in the areas Sherlock & I are lacking.  I was very excited it has already happened.  I also learned something that would have been very helpful for Echo when she was at the nursing homes.  Oh well.

I have read that Goodbye, Mr. Chips will be released on DVD sometime in 2008.  Don't know if that is still the plan.  But I hope!

So very sorry to read your news about Miss Blue Moon, DR Jrand. But she's so very lucky to have a loving and concerned master who will provide much love and comfort.

No, I don't want to sit on them.

I began my evening of viewing with two NUMB3RS episodes from Season 3. The first involved seemingly random murders on a freeway in LA. At first I suspected it was bk having road rage over the drivers he must contend with, but then the murderer turned out to be one of my all-time favorite actors from the TV series OZ.

My DH had breakfast this morning with German baritone Matthias Goerne and was offered a comp ticket to his performance tonight with the NY Philharmonic, but couldn't use it because he had to play Maundy Thursday services.  :(

The second episode dealt with a murder at a race track and an elaborate theory of gambling that was paying off too often for the victim.

I watched a LAW & ORDER rerun on TNT-HD, a good one with Jerry Orbach dealing with the murder of an insurance adjuster  by the father of a little girl dying of leukemia which the company wouldn't pay for a certain treatment that could save her life. Compelling episode. I'm sure I saw it when originally aired, but I didn't remember a lot about it.

SMALLVILLE contained to mine TONS of kryptonite for use against Clark, this time imprisoned in a cell made of the stuff. Some pretty good action, but episodes where Clark is immobilized for almost the entire episode aren't usually among my favorites.

LOST - another compelling episode, a couple of surprises, and a couple of shocks!

And now we must wait five weeks for another new episode. Argh!

ELI STONE. Filled with angst over both cases the firm was dealing with. And I have quickly tired of Loretta Devine's character Patti whose sassy and disrespectful and unprofessional behavior just wouldn't be tolerated in any big law firm.

Eli's anguish, however, was very palpable, and I'm eager to see where the show goes from here.

So far so good. There are times when she forgets or makes the kind of mistakes you make when you are only there 4 hours and then leave and completely switch gears at another job. other than that, she's been with me for almost 3 months and although we're still working out the best way to do some things, it's been really good.

DR Singdaw, just a suggestion....don't put your glasses on your chair before you sit down...works for me

Just heard that Oscar, Emmy and Tony Awarding actor Paul Scofield has passed away at the age of 86 from Leukemia.

First Anthony Minghella, now this...

One of my favorite roles of his was Mark Van Doren in QUIZ SHOW.

I need to find a grant or two dealing with Intellectual Property issues. Rockefeller is a funder in that area along with the MacArthur Foundation, they of the Genius Grants.

My partner Peter's sister-in-law is a Certified Genius. You would never know it...I mean, she is the most unassuming, low-key person, so I never knew this until after the Bat Mitzvah I attended in NY.

"The Candy Man"?  From "Willie Wonka"?

That "The Candy Man"?  I hear only a slight note similarity in "one" phrase of Sondheim's song, but the songs are totally different otherwise to my ears.

"I only see one fly in your soup."
