Well, you've read the notes, the notes hopefully had the haha and not the brou, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - right now, I'm thinking I'd like to hurl myself in front of the cows, but that would probably be a lesson in udder futility.

When I feel down one of the only things that will make me feel instantly better is playing Alet's version of "I Gotta Crow" from BK's Peter Pan album and singing at the top of my lungs and doing my own brilliant choreography "flying" and dancing and crowing all over my room.

I'm exhausted but I don't feel like going to bed.  If there were some passing automobiles I could just walk outside and hurl myself in front of one of them.  There's no one out there - I can't even hurl myself in front of someone who's walking his dog.

Well, I need to go to sleep and get up early.  I have to run some errands during lunch and possibly even before I get to work and then there's a show tonight, so my daytime time is severely limited.  Good night, all. 8)

Rambling Sid Rumpo (Kenneth "Carry On" Williams) will make me smile very easily.

Cheeriest song at the moment for me is "Sunshine In the Rain" by Swedish pop group "BWO" (Bodies Withour Organs).

Happy pop music will lighten my day.

"Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)" is another great cheer-up song.

Welcome eight GUESTS.  I've decided that in honor of the one person who mucked up the works, I will never again open my big yap about anything important.

BK: When you’re in a miserable mood, what foodstuff will make you instantly feel better?

BB: Potato chips, the ultimate comfort food.

BK: What piece of music will instantly cheer you up?

BB: The uber-pop of S Club 7, which was never as popular in this country as it was in their native UK. This is sugar-frosted teen pop that makes ABBA sound like Anthrax.

Have a sample, won't you?

How did one of our GUESTS turn the Very Good Thing into the Extra Strength Tylenol headache?

I guess that's the question, eh?

Are we talking about Evening Primrose, or something else? Sorry to be so dense. I think the column was deliberately vague, though. Or maybe that's just me.

I wondered if anybody else has had this experience. On at least a couple of occasions, I have purchased a Broadway OCR album based on a track (or tracks) from the "Lost in Boston" series, only to find that the "cut" songs were superior to the "uncut" ones. Or maybe it was just the productions on LOST IN BOSTON that were superior. Either way, the BOSTON songs set the bar so high that it inevitably led to disappointment. I thought "Come Down from the Tree" (from ONCE ON THIS ISLAND) and every single one of the cut songs from 110 IN THE SHADE were far superior to the tunes that made it. I am sure there are other examples too.

And while I've got "cut" songs on my mind, here's a burning question that I'm sure nobody here knows the answer to...but where else am I gonna post it? One of my very favorite songs from FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is "Chavala" aka Chava Ballet Sequence, which did not appear on the original Zero Mostel OCR. I didn't get to hear this song until the movie (and subsequent film OCR) was released. It's such a beautiful tearjerker. I am sure it must have been at least recorded for the Broadway version, as several other tracks have turned up as bonus cuts on recent reissues of the Broadway CD ("The Rumor," "Wedding Dance Music"). Why would they record "The Rumor" but not "Chavala"?

Glad I finally got that off my chest.
