Well, you've read the notes, the notes were about a person I already miss hugely, and now it is time for you to post until the sad cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SAVANT!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Topic of the Day (in alphabetical order):
American Graffiti
Beware! The Blob
The Creature Wasn't Nice
The First Nudie Musical
Laverne & Shirley
Travels With My Aunt
-
Agree with George but also watched the film “The Conversation” for the first time tonight, and was so impressed with her serious acting skills.
Previously, I knew her work on Laverne and Shirley, and Happy Days, of course. She was delightful, with great comic timing. Everyone loved her.
She was wonderful in BK’s “The First Nudie Musical”.
-
So, to continue with my Big River tale...the Australian eBay (https://www.ebay.com.au/) had a listing for it, and it was $80 AUS, which was only $56.56 US! HOWEVER, the listing also specified that the seller doesn't ship to the US. :P
-
So, I sent a message to the seller asking if they didn't ship to the US for legal reasons, or if it was just such hassle to do so because I'd love to have the CD, and he replied very quickly that it was a bit of a hassle, but that he went ahead and made it available for me to purchase! And I did!
-
With shipping from Australia and Washington state sales tax, it wasn't cheap, but it was less than half of the other listing. And the estimated delivery is between Wednesday, February 8 and Tuesday, February 21. That is a wide range, though.

And, who couuld forget Cindy in The First Nudie Musical?
I haven't seen "The Conversation," yet.
-
DR George, “The Conversation” is excellent.
What a cast.
I found the score, by David Shire, quite haunting.
I don’t know why I waited such a long time to watch it.
When I learned that Cindy had passed away, I felt the need to watch it tonight.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Wishing a very happy HHW birthday to DR Michael!
-
Still feeling quite unsettled about yesterday's news.
-
Caught dealing catnip:
-
Does yesterday's news make the publicist's job easier, or harder, I wonder?
-
The Conversation is a film I've never seen, but I see that it is available on Amazon Prime.
-
The opera The Hours will be aired on PBS as part of the next season of Great Performances.

Good morning, all!

Wishing a very happy HHW birthday to DR Michael!
I’m on diet but I’ll take a taste.
-
Learning this morning about Cindy Williams' death was was a real shock. BK, I send enormous hugs with my condolences.
-
I need more sleep. I have to be up early to deal with Access-a-Ride for my lab work. So, I planned on being in bed by 8:30 and set the alarm for 5:00. I turned off the lights, settled in and was nearly asleep when a neighbor rang my doorbell to tell me she had brought up five packages for me. I yelled that I was in bed. That was around 8:40. Then at 8:45 she called me to tell me about the packages. It took me over an hour to get to sleep. I was not amused.
-
So, this morning I have my lab work, then I go to City Center. If it isn't too cold, I will stop at the bank for 100 singles since I am running out of AAR funds.
-
Put this on my Kindle this morning:

~~~TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!
DR vixmom - thanks for sharing the photos. I am thrilled that you are able to enjoy all of this. You've come a long way since your back injury a few weeks ago!
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy birthday, Michael.
-
32 and sn*wing — VERY lightly and it’s almost done. AND it’s but a dusting on the driveway.
Dodging another bullet.
-
I don’t know if I ever saw a bad performance from Cindy. She lit up the screen.
-
Wordle and Phoodle in 3.
-
I only have a few minutes because I’ve got my six-month checkup at the dermatologist. I’ll read more Cindy tributes later, and watch some stuff in her honor.
-
I don’t know if I ever saw a bad performance from Cindy. She lit up the screen.
EXACTLY.
-
Happy Birthday, Michael!
-
Damned Access-a-Ride!
All plans screwed up today.
-
I am finally having some breakfast. By 8:00 I was starving. My plan was to have breakfast after the lab work, which is now rescheduled for Thursday morning.
-
I was able to reschedule the hand surgeon visit until next week. It’s icy out there. Temperature not expected above 32 today.
-
Let’s reschedule the whole day.
-
I fully support this plan.
-
I have two on-camera meetings this morning. I had to shave and put on a shirt.
Tuesday morning greetings! Assuming she can get here from Oxford on roads that were icy earlier, I’m meeting my friend Katie for lunch today.
-
BK, I’m so sorry to hear about Cindy. You, and all who love her, have my deepest sympathies.
-
Good morning!
-
Happy Birthday, DR Michael!
-
Wordle: 3/6
-
Loved Cindy in Laverne and Shirley and Travels With My Aunt and of course BK's movies. I'm going to watch The Conversation.
-
Happy Birthday, DR MICHAEL.
-
So sorry to hear about Cindy Williams. My condolences to MR BK and her family and friends.
-
TOD:
American Graffiti
Travels With My Aunt
The First Nudie Musical
The Creature Wasn't Nice
a couple of L/S episodes come to mind, although I liked most of them until the group moved to California from Milwaukee.
When she and Laverne pretended to be top fashion models.
When Shirley was the waitress and Laverne was the cook at a diner.
Any episode where she danced with Carmine.
The episode with MR BK when the girls had their names written on a restroom wall and two college guys called them up thinking they were going to vo-dee-o-doh.
-
And of course the roller rink episode linked above.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I'm not sure I really slept more than a few hours, but who knows.
-
So sorry I missed a birthday. I wrote the notes early and posted so I could go to bed right after and forgot to check. Will add that now.
-
Notes have been updated.
-
And page three has been attained.
-
~~~VIBES OF COMFORT AND STRENGTH TO YOU~~~ BK, as you navigate your emotions and the public relations gauntlet.

DR Vixmom, I love your family photos. You know how to have fun :)

Bruce, I may have ordered Cole Porter V and the London H2$ twice. Is there any way to check on that without causing a headache?

As errant and truant as I could be...
Hello old friends. What place could I go to in the middle of the night that would have as heartfelt and true a tribute as BK's to the great Cindy Williams? BK, crushed to hear the news. Your words gave me a great deal of solace. Of course she was great in so many things, but my favorite would naturally be as Annie McHugh in The Creature Wasn't Nice. And I always thought it was cool that as her star ascended, she had no trouble putting herself in BK's two crazy films. So many wouldn't have dared. L&S was of course formative TV for me as a kid. Who couldn't love Shirley? Incredible talent and personality.
As Annie McHugh would say, "Let's just hope that Cindy is in a better world."
-
And might I add Happy Birthday wishes to the great Michael Shayne!
-
Thank you for all the birthday wishes. It is really appreciated. Next year I’ll be a senior citizen.

Great to see you back here.

I just received the CD of the encores! Into the Woods (finally!). What is with this jerk record company? And while I'm bitching about their stupidity in taking so long to release a CD, the packaging is awful, truly cheap and flimsy, cumbersome and awkward to handle. Stupid asses.
-
I have seen similar complaints about this on social media.
-
Hello, DR Rodzinski!
-
singdaw! You're looking ducky!
-
DRRODZINSKI! How charming to see you here today.
-
singdaw! You're looking ducky!
;D

What did they used to say in that old advertising campaign... "Fly the friendly skies"?
-
Happy Birthday, Michael!
-
Welcome home Rodzinski!, hope you drop in and visit once in a while.

BK sending hugs

I can't decide, I agree she never gave a bad performance

It must be very windy and without sunshine.

I dont believe I ever saw Travels with my Aunt, though, so I must correct thst oversight once I get home

Best to stay home if possible. Did you have to drive to work?

Singdaw, since I woukd like you to still like me, I shan't disclose my current weather situation

DR John I highly recommend reading HORSE. After reading it I was sorry I hadn't chosen it for my pick.
I really enjoyed it, especially the parts in Lexington.
Then you did read it, probably after I first mentioned it. I think all the parts with Lexington were the best ;)

Rodzinski it is very nice to see you here, even if the reason is a sad one.

American Graffiti
The First Nudie Musical
Laverne & Shirley

Welcome back, DR Rodzinski!

Great photos, Vixmom.

Your suitcase must be like Mary Poppins’s handbag. Reach in and pull out a renaissance fair costume. Or a lampstand. Or a soupy pizza.

Well, she IS practically perfect in every way.
-
True.
-
I'm getting error messages again when trying to post pictures here.
-
I have seen some wonderful clip compilations of Cindy today on social media.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Happy birthday to DR Michael!
I hope you're enjoying pre-seniorhood.
-
Even though I never met Cindy and she didn't post here, she was such a part of Bruce's world that it feels like I knew her. Yes, a shock. Yes, very sad. The loss of one of our own.
-
Just so you know, Italian salad dressing does a great job at shining up a tile floor.
-
How I know this is unimportant.
-
How goes it, DR Jeanne?
-
I am hoping for a report of sunshine and lollipops.
-
Two guys are up on the roof and my ceiling repair has been completed. I let the handyman and his helper in this morning, then went off to do errands. The ceiling was almost done when I returned.
-
Why is gravity so cheap?
-
Because it's mass-produced.
-
Five.
-
Very glad to hear it, DR Jeanne.
-
It's nice that they did the right thing, for a change.
-
I truly hope the roof repairs hold. They're using some new product, which is supposed to be great, but -- let's hope it is. The REAL solution is to replace the roof, but that takes $$$. It should have been done ten years ago, IMHO. Because of the recent heavy rains no roofers are available. Thankfully, we have an excellent handyman, who doubles as a roofer at times.

It sounds like they are doing a good job. Vibes it is good enough.
-
Not a word from any of the agencies I contacted regarding tenants' rights. They probably have many times the number of people seeking assistance than they have people to give it.

A handyman who knows roofs, this is looking very encouraging.

Yes on the sunshine. A beautiful day here, but cool and windy. No lolllipops. I did buy some chocolate chip cookies, though. Will they do?
-
And -29 is just too cold. Brrr!
How many pair of socks can a person wear at one time?

Food is here.
TTFN.

Will they do?
They will.

Indubitably.

Six!

The first interview was kind of weird but okay. The Access Hollywood one airs tomorrow and the gal who did that one was fantastic and asked all the right questions.
-
I was in make-up and well lit for the lousy big boy computer camera. I would have looked better on the iPhone camera.
-
For lunch, I had a Chinese chicken salad that was very good, from Stanley's. I finished proofing and began entering fixes. Sami's mom, who arranged the make-up lady, brought K's Donuts, so I have a couple of those to munch on.

It nice you are being interviewed.
-
Marshall Harvey came by with the drive and the first eight episodes and I watched them all - a few things to finesse a bit further, but they're truly fun and it was truly both sad and fun to see how great Cindy is in it.
-
I'm only to page 52 entering fixes - there are just a lot of tiny word fixes to do.

Please direct this to Vixdad as well

A thank you to everyone who posted birthday wishes after my last thank you was posted. It was a quiet day topped of with a 90 minute massage
-
Just so you know, Italian salad dressing does a great job at shining up a tile floor.
Thank you for the excellent household hint Heloise
-
I'm sure it was kind of a tough day, BK. Hang in there.
-
Kathy Bates is going to star in a reboot of Matlock.
-
Glad to be of service. May my misfortunes brighten the lives of others. :)
-
Nothing is original.
-
Michael, I am envious. A 90-minute massage sounds heavenly.
-
Good night, friends.
-
S**w expected to start in 15 minutes. I doubt I’ll go out and look.
-
Couldn’t bring myself to watch The Creature Wasn’t Nice tonight. So I started a three-movie set of Shaft. Saw the original, which was not well directed. The climactic rescue scene had no tension. But it was effective.
-
Starting Shaft’s Big Score! It seems better, exclamation point excepted.
-
This sounds wonderful:
https://playbill.com/article/ragtime-original-broadway-cast-will-reunite-for-entertainment-community-fund-concert-in-march
I doubt they will, but it would be really cool if they could record it...or maybe film it for PBS.
-
The first interview was kind of weird but okay. The Access Hollywood one airs tomorrow and the gal who did that one was fantastic and asked all the right questions.
I set my DVR to record it!
-
BK, what's the other interview for? Is it a TV show, or website?
-
Out a shower.
-
Hand now on ice.
-
It’s especially cold tonight.
-
Can we get off this page?
-
Puuush!
-
Seven!
-
Thank you for the kind words of welcome. Definitely missed this corner of the universe.
-
I too hope Rodzinski will stick around.
-
The first interview was for Extra TV or something - I think that aired today.
-
The second interview as for Access Hollywood and that airs tomorrow.
-
No George? Again?
-
These damn rabbit holes.
-
Must finish some notes.
-
The first interview was for Extra TV or something - I think that aired today.
Darn. It isn't repeated.

The EXTRA tribute is on YouTube! Here's the link:

-
That was very nice, BK.
-
Hopefully, people will see that and want to see her last performances in SAMI.
-
Just watched the EXTRA tribute.
Scenes from SAMI are great…can feel the joy and high spirits.
Cindy is aglow, and one can feel the love and warmth between Bruce and Cindy in the last photo.
-
Lovely tribute, Bruce.
-
Hello, Iris.
-
Hello, George.
-
Ready for your callback?
Or closeup?
Or both? 😉
-
Ready for your callback?
Or closeup?
Or both? 😉
I'm as ready as I'll ever be!
-
I suppose I could pull out my copy of the vocal score and just kind of look through it.
-
I have no idea what they're going to ask us to sing, so it probably wouldn't help too much.
-
What's kind of cool is that the music director played Link Larkin in the production of Hairspray that I was in about four years ago.
-
Gratuitous Post #201!!
-
Oh, that’s great that you and the music director have worked together!
-
I wonder if they’ll want to hear how all of your voices blend on “Sunday” at the end of Act I.
-
Page seven?
-
I wonder if they’ll want to hear how all of your voices blend on “Sunday” at the end of Act I.
I would think so.
-
What has happened?
-
In previous auditions, we learn a short section to see how quickly people can learn.
-
We've slowed down.
-
Isn't it better to slow UP?
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
Being familiar with the music certainly helps.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
But I don't know how many people auditioned, or how well people really know this show.
-
Is there a particular part that interests you more than the others?
Jules?
The Boatman?
-
It's never been done in Olympia before, so people would have to find out about it in other ways.
