;D  Hopefully Boo & Callie will be settled back into their normal routine by tomorrow.

And speaking, or not speaking, of poo......Keith switched Sherlock's food & says Sherlock's poo has never looked so good.

Jose, that was a beautiful photo of the reservoir. Are those leaves starting to change color?

Yesterday Sherlock wanted attention so he came and barked in my ear while I was working at the computer.  Then he went into the office, took trash out of the trash can & gave it to Keith.  I guess he didn't care if he got yelled at or not, attention is attention.  Since he gave the trash to Keith instead of tearing it apart he didn't get yelled at. ;D

I went to Costco at lunch time (hence, today's excuse for not walking to work ;)) and now I need to go back AGAIN!  After that, I'll have dinner at Port of Subs (it's double-stamp Tuesday...when you get 10 stamps, you can get a free sub!)  Then, I need to get a few things at Fred Meyer, and since I have coupons for there, it'll be pretty cheap.  I have some shopping to do.  Have a good evening, all. :D

Well, Callie is getting better, but she's not the good old Callie again and she's getting more attention from me than usual.  I don't think Boo knows what to think.

It can be difficult giving out enough attention when there are more of them than you.  It will be nice when they can both cuddle with you at the same time.

And speaking of cuddling.  Sherlock cuddles so much at night I'm not getting enough sleep.  There is plenty of room for him to sleep next to me, but nooooo, he has to be on top of me.  Or at least on top of half of me.

An aside to my posting about the TOD earlier this morning.

For the longest time children were not allowed to see movies in Quebec (maybe just Montreal) except for "children's film" aka Disney types until the mid 60's. This was due to a fire where many children died. It was also about that time the ratings were FOR ALL, 14 YEARS AND OVER & 18 YEARS AND OVER. Quebec's rating board was very liberal. Films that were rated R in the USA recieved 14 YEARS and FOR ALL ratings.

The ratings have since been changed.

Neither of my cats are really cuddlers.  Boo more than Callie, but even she has her limits.

Michael S-Do you mean ALL films except children's films or films without their parents present?

Richard and I have really hibernated today.  The only place either of us went was when I went for Subway tuna sandwiches for our dinner.  We split a bottle of Gewurztraminer and I just may be able to sleep tonight.

Joshie is a cuddler. He snuggles up by my ear and purrs.

I have only had one cat that wasn't a snuggler.  I still miss Bogie sleeping next to my head or cuddling under the covers in my arm.

I saw a wonderful production of The Dining Room this evening. It is on nights like these that I remember why I love the theatre. It was an excellent show. All elements came together for a great evening. I love the play. It's sweet and gentle and funny and touching without being maudlin. This production is a very good example of marvelous direction. It's hard to explain direction but you know bad direction when you see a badly directed play and you know good direction when you see something like this. The staging was well thought out and made beautiful pictures as well as emphasizing points in the dialogue. There is a bit that takes place under the dining room table which was full of so many different things that you wonder how the actors were able to play them all, but they did. There is also a touching scene near the end which takes place on two chairs. No movement, just two actors talking and listening and reacting. It was a touching and believable moment in time. The physicality of the actors (a group of 6 who played multiple roles from children to adults and seniors) was also great to see. This production is a great example of how to explain listening and reacting as an actor. When you're doing a show of course you have to know your lines but you can't just wait for your cue and say the line when it's time. You have to listen to the actors around you and you have to make your lines sound real and natural. You have to listen and look and react. This cast did it so well. If you're in New York (and not too busy seeing a NYMF show) I highly recommend this production. It runs through October 14th (Tuesday through Sunday). It's a good, solid revival of one of my favorites shows.

I find it incredibly odd that since I've been here we have not had one "official" haineshisway.com get-together.   Not with Ben, not with Rodzinski, not even with FJL.  It's a little wacky to me, but what do I know.
