DR Jane - there's something we have in common!  Whenever I come home from work, I pull over next to the mailbox and collect the mail from the car. . .

If you walk to the mailbox how long a walk is it?

Nowhere near a country mile.
It's just across the road from the driveway, so. . . shall we say, about 100 steps. . .and I take large steps.

I bet it seems farther when there is ice on the road. ;)

The people of HHW are the greatest people in the world, and your vibes may be the world's first medical miracle.  This afternoon, only forty eight hours after being rushed back into surgery to relieve bleeding on the brain; my friend Stan left the hospital and was returned to the Tacoma Lutheran home to continue his recovery.  And if he could have gotten away with it, he would have gladly walked out the front door, but rules are rules.

Thank you one and all.

TAR last night had a LOT of challenges - and New Zealand is beautiful.  And if the two divorcees didn't get to go home, I glad it was the other team of my non favorites.

I enjoyed TAR last night. Fine with who went home and enjoyed them all being bunched up and having to do challenges and really race each other

Apparently two packages were at the mail place when I was there at two, and they neglected to alert me to that fact, so I just went and got them.

Time to get dinner together.

Actually, this is a simple case of reheating the French Onion soup I made a couple of nights ago.  Der B wants leftovers.

With a bit of salad on the side.  But not in the same bowl, that would just be soggy.

And when the drums roll out
Think about me.
There's gotta be me!
If I like it I will cheer it, cheer it,
Loud and let 'em hear it
How can there be a parade with out a crowd?

Some day, when I'm awfully low
When the world is cold
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And they way you look tonight

It's very clear, our love is here to stay.
Not for a year, but ever and a day.
The radio and the telephone and the movies that we know
May just be passing fancies and in time may go.

But oh, my dear, our love is here to stay.
Together we're going a long, long way.
In time the Rockies may crumble, Gibraltar may tumble --
They're only made of clay
But our love is here to stay.

And ice like vinyl
On the streets
Cold as silver
White as sheets
Rain like strings
And changing things
Like leaves.

I remember leaves
Green as spearmint
Crisp as paper.
I remember trees
Bare as coat racks
Spread like broken umbrellas.

And parks and bridges,
Ponds and zoos,
Ruddy faces,
Muddy shoes,
Light and noise and
Bees and boys
And days.

I remember days,
Or at least I try.
But as years go by
They're sort of haze,
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky.

I was in a meeting for three hours, earlier today and now I have to leave.  I'm off to the callbacks for Reefer Madness! The Musical!

Until later!

Don't cry
Don't cry
Come on back in the house and don't cry
Come on back in the house and get out from under
That old, cold sky

Oh, there's nothin' halfway about the Iowa way to treat you
When we treat you which we may not do at all
There's an Iowa kind of special chip on the shoulder attitude
We've never been without that we recall.
We can be cold as our falling thermometers in December
If you ask about our weather in July
And we're so by God stubborn we could stand touchin' noses for a week at time
And never see eye to eye
But what the heck, you're welcome
Join us at the picnic
You can eat your fill of all the food you bring yourself
You really ought to give Iowa a try.

It has been a busy day, Rudy Ray Moore & Richard Blackmore passed away.  I never cared for Blackmore’s worst-dress list & I’m not familiar with Rudy Ray Moore.
