Vibes for Dear Reader OzDerek. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I still don't have anything else to say because I've been catching up on my not doing anything before summer school starts next week.

YIKES!

Just had two very big lightning strikes in the distance... And two very brief - and very dark - black outs - well, I guess brown out... well, power outtage.  It was dark!  Looking outside, I could see that even the street lights went out...

...And here come the sirens...

The Craterian closed in the 80s and later was dusted off and renovated and turned into the Ginger Rogers Theater (or something like that) a few years ago. It looks nice, but totally different.

Hmm...

It really is a sad state of affairs when the best thing on TV is "Dancing With the Stars"... At least I can catch up on last week's episode at 8:00, before the new one at 9:00...

:-\

That is when those DVDs you have  been meaning to watch come in handy!

The tire tracks left by the police photo radar van, when it drove over the sidewalk and through our new landscaping today. He was going to stop and set up his speed trap, but zoomed off like a guilty man when he saw us.

Thanks for the link DR Jane. I see Medford is finally getting some culture...and big names too! Ben 'Vereen, Carol Channing...!

It must not be called the Ginger Rogers Theater any longer.

I haven’t had time to read past page one.  I’m busy cleaning and baking my chocolate chip cookies, substituting Heath pieces for the chocolate.  I hope the cooked cookies taste as good as the batter does.

Almost as good, but just a wee bit sweet.  So I topped the cookie with Haagen –Dazs coffee ice cream.  Oh my is that delicious!

Good Evening!

Well... If I'm to meet up with DR elmore at the LoC tomorrow morning, I'm gonna have to turn in soon...

And since it looks like I'll have to apply for another Reading Room card there in the morning... Ugh!

DR Jane - The cookies sound delicious - even moreso with the coffee ice cream on them.  Maybe just a tablespoon or so of finely ground espesso beans added to the cookie batter... Hmm...

Just received my fifth second chance offer on an eBay item, all of them from scam artists.  I'm telling you - class action lawsuit time - we could make a LOT of money.  Someone find a pro bono lawyer.  Cillaliz?

Well, I can't help you on that one, I can only defend citizens charged with federal crimes, but I do actually have an eBay seller as a client right now. He was accused of copyright violations for allegedly selling copies of software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Quark for about $20-$100 a piece. I can look up the name of the watchdog group that turned him in when I get to the office tomorrow it you'd like it. Not sure that would do you any good.

Actually, the thought did cross my mind...  But we ended up with a bunch more power blips throughout the evening, and there's still some more "stuff" out there and on the way.  Needless to say, I think I'll just wait till morning to reset the various clocks.  Again.

Well, that's enough thinking out loud for now.  I'll be sure and pass on everyone's greetings to DR elmore tomorrow.  -And I'll also be bringing my laptop with me, so maybe we'll be able to post sometime during the day.  Until then...

Goodnight.

Not for me.  I do not like espresso beans, just the ice cream, and some coffee candies.

I haven't had one single e-mail today, nor have we had one CD order today.  Skammen.

Couldn't let you go a day without an order. I just pre-ordered New Guy in Town.

TOD - Growing up I went to the Grand Theater in Estherville, IA. It was an old Vaudeville type theater that was converted into a movie theater. The only real conversion they did was to install the screen on the stage. It was a cool place. It's been torn down now, unfortunately.

Watching SWEETHEARTS today I was reminded of a couple of Adrian costumes for THE WIZARD OF OZ. The pink dress that Glinda wears in OZ was supposedly a revamp of a costume from SAN FRANCISCO, but I'd be willing to swear that Jeanette MacDonald's pink ball gown in the movie was the dress folks have often said was Glinda's. There are also some blue gingham dresses in the windmill sequence that look VERY similar to the dress Judy wears throughout OZ.

Funny how I'd never noticed these costume designs before today, but they are definitely inspirations for the dresses Adrian did for OZ.

I lock my doors at night even without worrying about THAT kind of creature coming to call. There are some other nasty elements out there who could also do bodily harm.

DANCING WITH THE STARS has been an amazing success. I knew the UK version was a hit, but who would ever have thought that a large number of folks would tune into ballroom dancing every week?

Next thing you know, some cable channel will be rerunning the Arthur Murray Dance Party. (Some of us ARE old enough to remember that program!)

Since I was so busy making DVDs today, I didn't get a chance to watch any DVDs.

I did get Monday night's MEDIUM watched. I thought I had seen every episode, but this was obviously one I had missed.
