DR singdaw.....ah!  Very nice to see Luka here at HHW.  Yes he is a fine basketball specimen.

He played about six minutes tonight in the first half.

I'm really feeling logy and terrible. Hoping my throat gets less irritated by tomorrow.

TOD 1:

I wanted to see the Tuscan countryside ever since seeing A Room With a View.
The big island of New Zealand is gorgeous in The Frighteners
The Trevi Fountain in La Dolce Vita

i thought thr Trevi was a disappointment.  You have to go down a back alley to get to it,

Interesting as I found it better than I expected.  Funny too as I don't recall going down a back alley.

I don’t either. We just sort of stumbled across it. I only had one night in Rome.

Reading more of Seth R's Broadway book. There are typos, missing words, and a few factual errors. Oh my!

If I had his contact info, I would volunteer my services.

Watching the start of All Quiet on the Western Front. Not the new version, but the one with Richard Thomas, Ernest Borgnine, Ian Holm, Patricia Neal and more.

Safely in Bora Bora land. Had to say, I watched Everything Everywhere… on the plane, and if that was the best movie of the year, the bar was pretty low. I almost quit after the first hour. It was obnoxious and SO exposition-heavy. I napped then watched the rest. It hit a couple music-aided emotional levels towards the end, but I wasn’t ever fully buying in to its BIG THEMES.

I've been in a banking nightmare. Friday afternoon I was doing some ordinary online banking, when a transaction didn't go through. I phoned the bank to learn that it had been denied. What?! Apparently, it tripped some fraud monitor. I spoke to someone in the fraud department and she fixed it. I was doing another transaction a while later and it happened again -- the transaction didn't go through, but this time my username was disabled and I was locked out of my account. Lovely. Called again, was reenabled. It happened again. This time I was told that I'd have to wait at least 24 hours, call the bank, and a human would have to fix it. Arrrggghhhh!

This morning I called the bank and after three tries finally got someone who could fix it. I can now access my account again. But, it took many, many hours of calling the bank, waiting on hold, going through the security questions, explaining what happened. I've complained about their software for many years now, but never had a major problem like this. It frosts me because  all of this can be fixed -- and shouldn't have happened in the first place. I think they have interns running their IT. No one could tell me for certain why it happened, either. I'm now looking at other banks, as I have little confidence in this one.

Regarding losing a loved one, I tried so hard to keep my dad alive and (somewhat) healthy, but then realized I was being selfish. He was in the hospital with no hope of recovery and miserable. We had a little chat and I told him to go when he was ready. He said it wasn't up to him, I told him I thought it partly was. He nodded and we said our goodbyes. The next day when I called the hospital they told me he'd passed. I didn't expect that to be our last conversation and was very glad we'd had our talk.

I will try a little DARK SHADOWS for some stress relief. I had two stress-relieving tacos for lunch, but they didn't take me down far enough on the stress-o-meter.

Good night.
