I just saw a flyer in the elevator - someone in our building is organizing a "Silent Book Club."

Apparently everyone comes together in a communal space and reads silently for half an hour or so. And then each person shares something about what they've been reading.

And a wonderful trip to Hong Kong and China in the late 70s when China was just opening up to tourism.

I think my favorite vacations were work-related, either the 2001 and 2002 trips to London to record with John McGlinn - although he himself was no vacation during this period - or my three August trips to Dublin, 2011, 2012, and 2013. Because the 2012 conductor was impossible, it was the worst of the three trips, but hanging out with the cast, crew, and orchestra on breaks and after the sessions was the absolute best. I miss them.

We took camping trips all over the pacific southwest when I was growing up in Los Angeles.

There's no fly in that ointment!

This evening my nephew and his wife are having a Murder Mystery Party.......Death in Margaritaville.......we shall see how it goes.
