And the word of the day is: PENSEE!
Morning all! I tried to post last night but my internet connection kept either slowing down or just wouldn't let me.
I'm thrilled that DR TCB doesn't owe that big amount of money. Six hundred is hard to come by too but the other would be impossible!
Went to the doctor yesterday. I have a 9mm stone--this time on the right side. I did everything I was told. I took the pills the doctor said would stop them from forming. I drank lemonade for lunch and dinner and STILL i formed a big honking stone. I haven't drank any dark colored liquids either. I don't know how to stop them.
I guess it's another day surgery for me but this time I can't bother Thelma. She is helping the guy across her street who is dying of brain cancer. I can't have her go with me so I will have to stay in the hospital overnight if they want to keep an eye on me afterwards.
I also wanted to agree that those who still have their parents or at least a parent still with them to cherish them while you can. No matter what your age, it hurts to become an orphan.
On an up note I was able to get hold of the news reporter that covered my house and she is going to help our bus ridership by filming a story about us and how it would hurt us if they take our bus. :) The will happen the week of July 9th. I told her I didn't have to be filmed but she said she wants to meet with me too. Guess I'm starting to be a regular on the local and national networks. I wonder if I could get my own show?
Good morning, all! Yesterday was another frustrating day, at times.
I'm now caught in the middle of this vocal book megillah for the Irish and British singers. I sent several corrections to my friend Curtis yesterday and he made them all, including one I screwed up and asked him to redo. He said he would do it last night, and I am still waiting for it. I need it it ASAP so I can then travel to Toyland, print the correction and schlep the vocal book to the McGllinnventory for printing and shipping.
Then, I got home, had to write some revisions for the EILEEN notes before I had a 2.5-hour phone conversation with the Man from Philadelphia. I've got two pieces to revise and one to trim.
When I left Toyland yesterday, I got to the subway platform and there was an express train sitting on the local track. As I walked down the platform, the announcer said it was delayed, but I thought, hey, it's air conditioned and the platform isn't, so I got on it. I asked a passenger how long the train had been delayed there, and he saud about 5 minutes but it had taken the train over an hour to get from Wall street to 28th Street because the subway was having a series of brownouts as the power came and went. About five minutes later, the train slowly moved and I was home after about a 30-minute ride.
This could be a bad day if the power keeps going out. I think I will stick to buses today.
The heat is supposed to arrive today.
We shall see.
It's cold and rainy here. Quelle surprise.
Ginny, do I remember correctly you're on coumarin (or however it's spelled?). There was a big article in the paper this morning warning people on it not to drink Cranberry juice, as it can be fatal!
Ah, how I miss the days when, if you had a few pittances in your pocket, you could buy something nice.
That is one great mother lode o' Hitch. I have little doubt that a father lode will come along one of these days, to take its rightful place alongside the mother.
I treasure my few Hitchcock posters and lobby cards, bought at Larry Edmund's in the early 1970s for a pittance.

DR MBarnum - your neighbor and his bride are beautiful!
I won my first ebook today. It's funny because before I had a kindle I kept seeing so many giveaways for ebooks. And now that i have one I don't see any.Congrats.
The ebook is one i've been wanting to read. Starters by Lissa Price.
TCB I had not heard about the (now over) 50th anniversary partay at the Delacourt but having read the prices --- ZOUNDS!!!
Kevin and Meryl seem a little long in the tooth to play R & J but apparently it was a not staged performance - they kept referring to it as a reading in the article I found
Vibes for Carol from us as well

Yes, DR JMK, I'm on Coumadin forever because I've had DVT (blood clots) twice. Cranberry juice is a NO, NO - one thing I read said to limit your intake to the equivalent of 2 cups per day. That's a LOT of cranberry juice...
I will try to find your article online.
We are predicted to hit 94 degrees today.....which we did yesterday. And it's our 16th day in a row with no rain.
I noticed the beans and corn on the way to rehearsal last night.....and ALL the crops are looking pretty sad right now.......

I probably drink three times that much every day.

DR CHAS SMITH have you had a "happy everything" as Miss Hedren wished you?
DR ChasSmith, do scan more of your autographs, they are fun to see.
I collected autographed photos back in the early 90s, before celebs starting charging for them. Got a ton of great ones...of course most of those people are not passed away :'(
One of these days I will get to scanning them, also.
DR CHAS SMITH have you had a "happy everything" as Miss Hedren wished you?
Personally, I think Miss Hedren still owes me. Although...I did have an everything bagel this morning, if that's what she was referring to.
Well no autograph collection is complete without an Allison Hayes, a Carroll Baker, and a Frances Farmer.

DR DANISE you're going to qualify for AFTRA retirement benefits if you are on tv again! You are a regular!!
Isn't this a lovely picture! It is of my neighbor and his wife at their wedding reception from a few months back.
They look like they should be in a magazine.

Yes, FOUL PLAY was a good one! I kept suspecting one person, in particular, but I was wrong.
DETECTIVE DUEL is equally fun, and in color.

I have an autographed photo of Charles Strouse and a self-portrait sketch of Ed Wynn. In the living room, I have a few autographs framed on the wall including a poem of Robert Penn Warren's, a Robert Rauschenberg print, a vinyl album cover from k.d. lang ("To polka divine!" and a poster of Terry McMillan. DR Danise I'm sure you aren't the first person to do everything right & still get a stone. Does the stone hurt? Is it urgent that you remove it?
VIBES!!!!
Then I picked up a couple of packages and came home. David Wechter arrived and we watched the entire Blu and Ray of Junior High School - the feature, the bonus stuff, all of it. We found a few more things and I sent those to the authoring house. So, if everything gets addressed we should be able to get one more check disc and be good to go. I'm also thinking about releasing the score and songs (along with other movie stuff that David has done) on CD. What do you all think of that?

Yes, Vixmom, the Stupid Driver Law is a necessary thing. Those washes flood and people try to drive through and get stuck. For some stupid reason, there is a road to a shopping center that goes through a wash. People always get stuck in that one.

Actually the error was with the insurance company. The hospital just repeated the amount they were told that I owed. The insurance company has no idea where the $35,000.00 came from, but they are looking in to it.

I cringe every time I read about that horrid combination, but more for how very unhealthy it is than that is sounds disgusting.
Thanks, DR Jane. Jackie is very nice and I think she understands that even if this "just affects 30 people", it's important to them. I'm sure we will come up with a plan if this doesn't work but I don't want to say that to loud. I want the bus to stay where it is.

So would I.
VIBES THE STORY HELPS YOU KEEP THE BUS!!!
Since DR ChasSmith is a Hitchcock fan and relatively new here, I will mention that my uncle, Ed Fitzgerald, was the cameraman on THE ROPE. Jimmy Stewart was a good friend of my Aunt Margaret. But, alas, this was all before my time. When I was a little girl Eddie was shooting LASSIE and THE GALE STORM SHOW.
DR DANISE you're going to qualify for AFTRA retirement benefits if you are on tv again! You are a regular!!I would love that!!
My sister and I are both prone to kidney stones, she more so than me. No doctor has been able to figure out what causes them, but it's landed her in the hospital three times in the past month. There has been no word, however, of losing a kidney and I think that's frightfully alarmist talk on your doctor's part. If he talks more about it, perhaps you need another doctor. Thanks DR Jane. I will put it like this. The doctor said, you've know about this since February and haven't been to see me until now. I tried to explain I had other things going on. Read a story today about deep-fried cereal at some state fair. The reviews were not good because they said it was greasy and too dry. Well, it's deep-fried cereal. What did you expect?I'm sorry but I like ice cream. I like bacon. But the thought of the two together makes me, how does BK put it? Makes me want to vomit on the ground.I must have one of those soon.It has gotten unexpectedly cool here today. It's only 79 right now. Unexpected rains this morning. Now this. Guess we're letting you enjoy all the heat, DR Ben.
Thanks so very much, John. Remind me to do you a favor like that sometime!!!
It's 92, feels like 99.
It sure does. My big outing today: driving to Burger King for a BACON SUNDAE.
;D
I cringe every time I read about that horrid combination, but more for how very unhealthy it is than that is sounds disgusting.
I take it with a grain of stone. Everything HAS to be done NOW. My dentist is the same way. I had that tooth pulled last year and I have GOT to get that bridge NOW because my teeth are moving. Ya, Ya.My sister and I are both prone to kidney stones, she more so than me. He said if that stone blocks my tube (because at that size I can't pass it), I could lose my kidney and NOTHING should have been more important than getting it taken care of ASAP. What can I say?Went to the doctor yesterday.
DR Danise I'm sure you aren't the first person to do everything right & still get a stone. Does the stone hurt? Is it urgent that you remove it?
VIBES!!!!
I have to go for the usual tests, KUB and such. Then we will pick a date.
Kind of wishing I didn't have to go to this dinner party thing - good folks will be there and I'm sure it will be fun, but it's kind of a schlep.I know what you mean. I get invites and then wish I didn't have to go at the last moment too. I'm just comfortable at home with the dogs.

I'm curious what you doctor would say about this if you ask. Did either of you have stones as large as DR Danise's?
On my way down, I stopped at Staples and Kinkos for prices to make ten 2-sided copies of a 22-page score for the singers. Staples told me it would cost $220.00, and Kinko's told me $95.00, which I think is to low from the clerk misunderstanding me. What happened to the days when the price per page went down with multiple copies?
So, now I'm home and it's time for bed.
I just received this email from an extremely discriminating Farmer fan in the UK:
Read your article and wanted to say am terribly impressed by what you wrote. You give me faith in an intelligent internet. Thank you.
Did Betsy write that?
We are predicted to hit 94 degrees today.....which we did yesterday. And it's our 16th day in a row with no rain.
I noticed the beans and corn on the way to rehearsal last night.....and ALL the crops are looking pretty sad right now.......
The beans and corn were going to rehearsal? What play are they in?
That's not to say that I'm an angel and never use them. I just don't like using them to that extreme. That's another thing I like about our board. You all don't have to curse every other word to get your point across.
