Morning all!  I tried to post last night but my internet connection kept either slowing down or just wouldn't let me.

I'm thrilled that DR TCB doesn't owe that big amount of money.  Six hundred is hard to come by too but the other would be impossible!

Went to the doctor yesterday.  I have a 9mm stone--this time on the right side.  I did everything I was told.  I took the pills the doctor said would stop them from forming.  I drank lemonade for lunch and dinner and STILL i formed a big honking stone.  I haven't drank any dark colored liquids either.  I don't know how to stop them.

I guess it's another day surgery for me but this time I can't bother Thelma.  She is helping the guy across her street who is dying of brain cancer.  I can't have her go with me so I will have to stay in the hospital overnight if they want to keep an eye on me afterwards.

I also wanted to agree that those who still have their parents or at least a parent still with them to cherish them while you can.  No matter what your age, it hurts to become an orphan.

On an up note I was able to get hold of the news reporter that covered my house and she is going to help our bus ridership by filming a story about us and how it would hurt us if they take our bus.  :)  The will happen the week of July 9th.   I told her I didn't have to be filmed but she said she wants to meet with me too.  Guess I'm starting to be a regular on the local and national networks.  I wonder if I could get my own show?

Good morning, all! Yesterday was another frustrating day, at times.

I'm now caught in the middle of this vocal book megillah for the Irish and British singers. I sent several corrections to my friend Curtis yesterday and he made them all, including one I screwed up and asked him to redo. He said he would do it last night, and I am still waiting for it. I need it it ASAP so I can then travel to Toyland, print the correction and schlep the vocal book to the McGllinnventory for printing and shipping.

Then, I got home, had to write some revisions for the EILEEN notes before I had a 2.5-hour phone conversation with the Man from Philadelphia. I've got two pieces to revise and one to trim.

When I left Toyland yesterday, I got to the subway platform and there was an express train sitting on the local track. As I walked down the platform, the announcer said it was delayed, but I thought, hey, it's air conditioned and the platform isn't, so I got on it. I asked a passenger how long the train had been delayed there, and he saud about 5 minutes but it had taken the train over an hour to get from Wall street to 28th Street because the subway was having a series of brownouts as the power came and went. About five minutes later, the train slowly moved and I was home  after about a 30-minute ride.

This could be a bad day if the power keeps going out. I think I will stick to buses today.

Thanks to the very warm weather, most people at the coffee shop were sitting outside, so there was plenty of room inside. As I'd only had a Weetabix for breakfast, I had some toast with my usual cappuccino. This afternoon I have some proof reading to do and then I'll take some rubbish to the local recycling plant.

Yes, DR JMK, I'm on Coumadin forever because I've had DVT (blood clots) twice.  Cranberry juice is a NO, NO - one thing I read said to limit your intake to the equivalent of 2 cups per day.  That's a LOT of cranberry juice...

I will try to find your article online.

This JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL is new to me, and I look forward to it.

That is one great mother lode o' Hitch.  I have little doubt that a father lode will come along one of these days, to take its rightful place alongside the mother.

I treasure my few Hitchcock posters and lobby cards, bought at Larry Edmund's in the early 1970s for a pittance.

Ah, how I miss the days when, if you had a few pittances in your pocket, you could buy something nice.

TCB  I had not heard about the (now over)  50th anniversary partay at the Delacourt but having read the prices --- ZOUNDS!!!

Kevin and Meryl seem a little long in the tooth to play  R & J  but apparently it was a not  staged performance - they kept referring to it as  a reading  in the article I found

I maybe (probably) losing my mind, but did I mention the Delacourt party in some context?

I've got a few other fun things but nothing else already scanned.

Hitchcock was so important to me in my early moviegoing years.  For a while I was going to every showing around, starting with a fabulous retrospective at LACMA in late '72 or early '73.  What's amusing to remember is that I got totally accustomed to seeing the same faces at these things, regardless of where in town or what the occasion.  We were the Hitchcock Obsessed.

I don't know how complete it is and whether it's completely correct but here is a Wikipedia article about

Alfred Hitchcock Cameo Appearances (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Hitchcock_cameo_appearances)

It says he was in 39 of 52 films. The list is in alphabetical order.

When the uploader is full no picture, no matter the size, can be attached. I know there is some account at Photobucket which has been used by people to post pictures but I don't know anything about the account information. George can probably fill you in on how to use it.

It looks like ChasSmith doesn't need my help...but if he wants the instructions, I'll be happy to send them to him. :D

DR Danise I'm sure you aren't the first person to do everything right & still get a stone.  Does the stone hurt?  Is it urgent that you remove it?

I have an autographed photo of Charles Strouse and a self-portrait sketch of Ed Wynn. In the living room, I have a few autographs framed on the wall including a poem of Robert Penn Warren's, a Robert Rauschenberg print, a vinyl album cover from k.d. lang ("To polka divine!" and a poster of Terry McMillan. Somewhere in the collection is an autograph from Lillian Gish and a letter from Frank Capra.

My family drives me up a wall.  I can't pin them down to see them in one group visit.  I always have to see my aunt & cousin's separately but when I need to see my brother's family in small groups, while more intimate, it doesn't leave time to see friends.  Keith's family is easier.  My nephew really holds me hostage because he has our grand nephews.

Had a really interesting lunch meeting with Lissa Levin, the book writer of the Hazel musical.  She wanted my thoughts, and she wanted me to be brutal, so I was.  But out of it, I think I helped her to focus on the themes of the show and why I felt what I saw was not working at all.  However, a lot of that is about the songs and I don't know that her collaborators are open-minded enough to actually listen.

I guess it's another day surgery for me but this time I can't bother Thelma.  She is helping the guy across her street who is dying of brain cancer.  I can't have her go with me so I will have to stay in the hospital overnight if they want to keep an eye on me afterwards.

Yes, Vixmom, the Stupid Driver Law is a necessary thing. Those washes flood and people try to drive through and get stuck. For some stupid reason, there is a road to a shopping center that goes through a wash. People always get stuck in that one.

Many years ago, a friend tried to drive his relatively new Mazda RX7 through a flooded area.  The car was totaled and it's still a sore point.

To answer your question, yes i still have my Bonnie Blue.  She is now six and I used part of the money to take her in for her thirty thousand mile check up.  Had all fluids changed, tires rotated, etc.

The guy at the shop gets such a kick out  of her milage.  He says I really am the little old lady who only drives Bonnie on Sunday.  :)  He would buy her in a heartbeat because he knows I take good care of her.  :)  No way, by the way.  She's still my girl. :)

Power vibes to DR Elmore!

I guess it's another day surgery for me but this time I can't bother Thelma.  She is helping the guy across her street who is dying of brain cancer.  I can't have her go with me so I will have to stay in the hospital overnight if they want to keep an eye on me afterwards.

DR Danise I'm sure you aren't the first person to do everything right & still get a stone.  Does the stone hurt?  Is it urgent that you remove it?

VIBES!!!!
Thanks DR Jane.  I will put it like this.  The doctor said, you've know about this since February and haven't been to see me until now.  I tried to explain I had other things going on.  He said if that stone blocks my tube (because at that size I can't pass it), I could lose my kidney and NOTHING should have been more important than getting it taken care of ASAP.  What can I say?

I have to go for the usual tests, KUB and such.  Then we will pick a date.

This sounds serious.  You knew about it for 4 months?  Did it hurt all this time?
On and off.  Sometimes I am more "aware" it's there then others.

It  has gotten unexpectedly cool here today. It's only 79 right now. Unexpected rains this morning. Now this. Guess we're letting you enjoy all the heat, DR Ben.

Thanks so very much, John. Remind me to do you a favor like that sometime!!!

It's 92, feels like 99.

It sure does.  My big outing today:  driving to Burger King for a BACON SUNDAE.
I must have one of those soon.
I'm sorry but I like ice cream.  I like bacon.  But the thought of the two together makes me, how does BK put it?  Makes me want to vomit on the ground.

;D

I cringe every time I read about that horrid combination, but more for how very unhealthy it is than that is sounds disgusting.

You could use tofu bacon.

I would watch!!!!

So would I.

VIBES THE STORY HELPS YOU KEEP THE BUS!!!

Thanks, DR Jane.  Jackie is very nice and I think she understands that even if this "just affects 30 people", it's important to them.  I'm sure we will come up with a plan if this doesn't work but I don't want to say that to loud.  I want the bus to stay where it is.

Since DR ChasSmith is a Hitchcock fan and relatively new here, I will mention that my uncle, Ed Fitzgerald, was the cameraman on THE ROPE. Jimmy Stewart was a good friend of my Aunt Margaret. But, alas, this was all before my time. When I was a little girl Eddie was shooting LASSIE and THE GALE STORM SHOW.

That's nice to hear.  I have all the films here, and haven't seen ROPE in a long time so I'll make a point of watching it soon.  Like, in the next day or so.

My sister and I are both prone to kidney stones, she more so than me. No doctor has been able to figure out what causes them, but it's landed her in the hospital three times in the past month. There has been no word, however, of losing a kidney and I think that's frightfully alarmist talk on your doctor's part. If he talks more about it, perhaps you need another doctor.

I take it with a grain of stone.  Everything HAS to be done NOW.  My dentist is the same way.  I had that tooth pulled last year and I have GOT to get that bridge NOW because my teeth are moving.  Ya, Ya.

There's only so much money and so much radiation I can take before I start to glow.  :)  No doubt there is something else lurking in the  shadows of my body that MUST be taken care of right away.

DR Danise before doing surgery will the doctor consider the procedure that breaks up stones?  Of course that might require more x-rays to see if it worked ;)

I understand your doctor's concern that you don't lose a kidney due to waiting too long, especially since you have diabetes.

Speaking of cameramen, if I knew this, I had forgotten, but I was re-gobsmacked when watching the doc accompanying the new BD of HIGH NOON when they interviewed David Crosby about his father, who was DP on that film!

Yes. Larger.
The two that Linda just had operated on were both larger than that before they broke them up.

The evening began badly wth four old, very old ladies stumbling through a scene from A WOMAN OF NO IMPORTANCE. It was painful to watch, awkward and rathwer pointless. After about 15 unendurable minutes, they left the stage to no applause. We didn't no it was over! Then, a group of really good actors came ondtage and did a reading of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. The Lady Bracknell was really wonderful and never reminded me once of Edith Evans, who is for me indelible in the role. I also liked the Miss Prism and Trip Plymale, whom I hadn't seen in years, was the CanonChasuble. The four young leads were excellent = everyone had quiye good accents - but the director let them down on pronunciation. It's Leftenant Moncrief, not Lewtenant. I gave Charlotte hell for off-ten, not offen. It's one of my favorite comedies, and I laughed all the way through it.

On my way down, I stopped at Staples and Kinkos for prices to make ten 2-sided copies of a 22-page score for the singers. Staples told me it would cost $220.00, and Kinko's told me $95.00, which I think is to low from the clerk misunderstanding me. What happened to the days when the price per page went down with multiple copies?

So, now I'm home and it's time for bed.

Do they bind it in a hardback book?

We are predicted to hit 94 degrees today.....which we did yesterday.  And it's our 16th day in a row with no rain.

I noticed the beans and corn on the way to rehearsal last night.....and ALL the crops are looking pretty sad right now.......

The beans and corn were going to rehearsal?  What play are they in?
