Had a really interesting lunch meeting with Lissa Levin, the book writer of the Hazel musical.  She wanted my thoughts, and she wanted me to be brutal, so I was.  But out of it, I think I helped her to focus on the themes of the show and why I felt what I saw was not working at all.  However, a lot of that is about the songs and I don't know that her collaborators are open-minded enough to actually listen.

I'm really stressing out from lack of communication.  It is difficult to communicate when emails aren't returned.  I just sent my nephew a text.

Then I picked up a couple of packages and came home.  David Wechter arrived and we watched the entire Blu and Ray of Junior High School - the feature, the bonus stuff, all of it.  We found a few more things and I sent those to the authoring house.  So, if everything gets addressed we should be able to get one more check disc and be good to go.  I'm also thinking about releasing the score and songs (along with other movie stuff that David has done) on CD.  What do you all think of that?

Lovely photo DR MBARNUM....were you at the wedding?

The wedding was in Delhi, so didn't go to it.

If he had asked you, you would have gone.

TCB, did the hospital give any explanation for why the bill was originally so high? You might have had a heart attack on top of everything else.

Went to the doctor yesterday.  I have a 9mm stone--this time on the right side.  I did everything I was told.  I took the pills the doctor said would stop them from forming.  I drank lemonade for lunch and dinner and STILL i formed a big honking stone.  I haven't drank any dark colored liquids either.  I don't know how to stop them.

I guess it's another day surgery for me but this time I can't bother Thelma.  She is helping the guy across her street who is dying of brain cancer.  I can't have her go with me so I will have to stay in the hospital overnight if they want to keep an eye on me afterwards.

DR Danise I'm sure you aren't the first person to do everything right & still get a stone.  Does the stone hurt?  Is it urgent that you remove it?

VIBES!!!!

Are we talking gall stone or kidney stone?

I shot, developed, and printed this in my tiny kitchen on the edge of the Hills of Beverly.  This was at a lecture/Q&A thing where we'd just watched Mr. Stewart's 16mm print of "Rear Window".

Nice.  When did you get him to autograph it?

I mailed it to his home and asked him if he would sign and return it, which he did promptly.  I worked with someone who knew him, and he assured me that Stewart would respond.

DR MBarum assured me that Dorothy Provine would repsond, but I was too chicken to write to her.

Yes, Vixmom, the Stupid Driver Law is a necessary thing. Those washes flood and people try to drive through and get stuck. For some stupid reason, there is a road to a shopping center that goes through a wash. People always get stuck in that one.

Many years ago, a friend tried to drive his relatively new Mazda RX7 through a flooded area.  The car was totaled and it's still a sore point.

Yes, FOUL PLAY was a good one! I kept suspecting one person, in particular, but I was wrong.

DETECTIVE DUEL is equally fun, and in color.

That's up next.

Jrand, what time are your rehearsals?

Did Betsy write that?

I am struggling to come up with something uncurmudgeonly to say about a loathsome boy band's Blu-ray which I must review.
It ended.

Or how about a quote from "The Gospel at Colonus": "Now, let the weeping cease."

I have an autographed photo of Charles Strouse and a self-portrait sketch of Ed Wynn. In the living room, I have a few autographs framed on the wall including a poem of Robert Penn Warren's, a Robert Rauschenberg print, a vinyl album cover from k.d. lang ("To polka divine!" and a poster of Terry McMillan. Somewhere in the collection is an autograph from Lillian Gish and a letter from Frank Capra.

Rauschenberg's son Chris lives in Portland (or at least used to, I've been to parties with him).

Rauschenberg?  Is that the guy who painted the ink blots?

I have no idea where my Judy Garland autograph is, or my Imogene Coca.  I hoped to always keep Ms Coca's near me, since she hated children and she certainly didn't like me.

Since DR ChasSmith is a Hitchcock fan and relatively new here, I will mention that my uncle, Ed Fitzgerald, was the cameraman on THE ROPE. Jimmy Stewart was a good friend of my Aunt Margaret. But, alas, this was all before my time. When I was a little girl Eddie was shooting LASSIE and THE GALE STORM SHOW.

Actually the error was with the insurance company.  The hospital just repeated the amount they were told that I owed.  The insurance company has no idea where the $35,000.00 came from, but they are looking in to it.

It isn't very comforting to see them make such a big mistake! I'm glad you called and got it sorted out.
