I keep thinking back on Humphrey Bogart in “Stand-In.” Though his character is supposed to be madly in love with a talentless actress, he keeps calling Leslie Howard sweetheart and darling. He even says something like “Sweetheart, if you could cook, I’d marry you.”

In an interesting coinkydink (as DR George is wont to say), Andrew Walesch, the music director at our local Twin Cities cabaret supper club, Crooners, has just been selected as the new Artistic Director of the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.
