Hi folks!

Just wanted to pop in and let you know that I am alive and well.  The budget was submitted today and it looks like I'm in the clear--at least until January and vote happens.  Things still could go bad at that time with even deeper cuts of jobs.

Still it is hard to tell you that over 400 jobs are gone right now.   :'(  It won't take effect until October 1st but that's a small comfort to those people.

I've been trying to keep myself busy.  I painted the spare room (what I'm trying to call Mom's room) and the hall and the bathroom.  It was a bit of a mistake to try to do all of that over two weekends.  I will not attempt to do the living room for a few weeks.  I need a break!

I hope everyone here is happy and well.  I haven't heard anything bad.  I'm very glad for that.   :)

RLP, I think you take JRand's horse racing far too seriously.

Nahhh....I just like to give him a hard time.

I painted the spare room white.  The bathroom and hall in something called "Blue Opal"--It was white when it went on the wall but turned a lovely pale shade of blue when it dried.

I bought "Creamy Beige" for the living room.  I think it looks warm and inviting.  I can't wait to get it all done.  I have to go out and pick up some curtains before I do the living room.

The old ones have to be tossed because of the smoke smell.  I will do some hunting for some nice ones on my upcoming weekend off.

Alas, I don't get the results until July 31.  I'm looking forward to hearing what the doctor has to say.

I told MusicGuy I'd help him paint his new place. That was before I saw the sixteen-foot ceilings, though.

I told him I don't do ladders. So I guess I'll help with the bedrooms, office, kitchen, and lower part of the living room.

I don't blame you.  I'm lucky that I only have one of those little 4 step type of ladders and it's tall enough for me to touch the ceilings.

Trim.  Ugh.     :P

Hi, Danise!  Glad to hear that you're able to breathe a little about your job and that you're keeping busy.  Be sure to take that break, too.  You deserve it!

Oh, that must be nice.

Well, I said I would only post for a little while.  I'm very tired--as I told you I was awake most of last night because I knew the budget was going to be submitted today.

Have a good evening all!

Bruce, excellent vibes and xylophones!

It sounds like acid reflux to me.  I also suggest cutting out all soda.  Try not eating anything at least 3 hours before going to bed.  Put something under the head of your mattress to elevate yourself.  They should hel.

Do you like black licorice?  I buy Panda & slowly suck on those, not too many or they upset my stomach.

Hi lovelies and studlies...... (take your pick!).... I just wanted to pop in for a moment and say "Good Evening" to all here.

Continued strong and healthy vibes for dear Esteemed and sinewy BK !!

And dear DR Laura,.... the rain was a big letdown here also.  it had all of the right look, like it might actually get going and drop some significant water, but then it just all fizzled out.  Poo !!

I don't know if we will get to it tonight, but we are recording it.

Danise!  Good luck with the employment crunch.  Sounds as if you're doing something right so far.

Re: Cindy Williams

I first thought of The Drowsey Chaperone because TV stars Georgia Engel and Jo Anne Worley have played the same role.

Hairspray has been getting 'names" to join the cast. So far Jerry Mathers, Lance Bass and one of the castoffs from the Grease reality show. Get the names in and kee[

Curtains is also a possibility.

But don't rule out Momma Morton in Chicago

or Mary Poppins' Mrs. Banks.

Longshots:
Morales in A Chorus Line
Fantine in Les Miz
Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys

Anything available in Legally Blond?
and what about Mama Mia are the roles something Miss Williams can do?

Saturday morning I picked up my copy of Harry Potter before taking a walk in the park.  I only had time to read 200 pages in the afternoon.  I couldn't return to it until late Sunday evening.

I finished the book this morning.  That is all I will say about it.
