Egregiously? No. But no love for The Wiz. Little love for Gatsby or Back to the Future.

At least everyone in Merrily who I was pulling for got nominated. I haven't seen any of the other eligible shows.

I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep, maybe a bit more - but good sleep, at least.

I am shocked, shocked do you hear me, that so many here have never had the roadshow experience - everyone must be VERY young.

TOD: I had to look up what a roadshow movie was, but I'm pretty sure my parents took me to see Grand Prix and 2001 in that format. Definitely Grand Prix, which was in Cinerama. That was first but 2001 would be my favorite.

TOD:

The Sound of Music at the Circle Theatre in Indy.

Gone With The Wind (1968 re-release) at probably the Loew's in Indy.

And like DR MICHAELG - 2001: A Space Odyssey & Ice Station Zebra at the Cinerama theatre.

I didn't see Grand Prix until it came to the drive in.

I also saw Fiddler on the Roof at the Circle......

Did anyone else mispronounce Grand Prix when they were very young?  (Asking for a friend)

It seemed surprising that the Spamalot revival got only one nomination.  It closed already, but it seemed to be a well-received revival with the critics.

No DR FREDDIE - but I once wrote a very funny skit on that subject.....if you get my innuendo.

Hoping maybe there's a pdf of a script?  Or some archival footage?

I mean, if they want it pronounced Gran Pree, then spell it Gran Pree.

I am back from our one morning show this year.

(Sometimes there are two days with a morning show, and I'm very glad there aren't this year.)

Now I must do what one must do every three months:  make a very ugly quarterly property tax payment.

According to an online posting by journalist Wayman Wong about the Tony nominations,

Besides ''Harmony,'' the other shows that were completely shut out were: ''The Cottage,'' ''The Heart of Rock and Roll,'' ''How to Dance in Ohio,'' ''I Need That,'' ''Once Upon a One More Time,'' ''The Shark Is Broken'' and ''The Wiz.''

I don't pretend this is a complete list of them, but I had wonderful experiences seeing a fair number of movies in roadshow engagements, if not nearly the wealth of them that BK and others did. A question mark means I'm not positive whether my viewing was fully roadshow, or whether an intermission was still included at that time.

This is Cinerama
Oklahoma!
The Diary of Anne Frank (?)
West Side Story
King of Kings (?)
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
My Fair Lady
The Sound of Music
2001: A Space Odyssey
Funny Girl
Doctor Zhivago
The Great Race (?)
Around the World in 80 Days
Lawrence of Arabia
Tora! Tora! Tora (?)
Gandhi
Spartacus
The Hateful Eight
