Off to take care of some household chores, and then to an overcrowded night of prime time TV.

Victoria Day.

May 24 was Empire Day in Australia and is now Comonwealth Day.  When I was child the day was a half day holiday and a bonfire day.

It is also DP Colin's birthday - He assumed everyone was lighting fires to celebrate in honour of himself.

As with the UK, Queens Birthday is celebrated here with a holiday in June.

By my calculations DR TCB should be flat out with the benefit of excellent theatre lighting for the performance at this moment.

Yes....and somewhat exposed, I would reckon....and totally dependent upon the kindness of strangers....

I don't remember if schools close but government offices, banks, post offices do. I never did anything special. I'm too young to remember her reign.

Did you ever hear anyone mention Commonwealth Day, Michael?

Yes today is Victoria Day (for Queen Victoria).

3 day weekend.  No mail.  Although I think the stores were open. Although I did not leave my bed. I can't imagine that there would have been school, and I think most people had the day off.

Sounds like perfect weather for a read thru.

I couldn't resist, I got out my VHS copy of THE BEST OF EVERYTHING and am enjoying every moment.  Checked for some trivia on IMDB and indeed April and Caroline traipse right in front of The Stonewall on Christopher street....

I know this has been asked, but a search has turned up nothing in the way of an answer so far as I've been able to discover:

What's going on at Broadway.com with "The Insider" by Ken Mandelbaum" ?

There hasn't been anything new in weeks and weeks...and I've seen no word on what has happened.

I did hear from Mr. Long - I don't have time to have a meal, but he's coming to the staged reading this evening.

DRLAURA maybe we can see pictures of the dust storm?  I have learned, particularly from Nov-Feb:  Never ignore the blinking WEATHERBUG!

I bought THE BEST OF EVERYTHING dvd, but haven't watched it yet. I have never seen the entire film but I certainly have memories of Stephen Boyd being in it!

I think that goes without saying.

Ditto when doing pull-ups!

Oh indeed!

DRMBARNUM - Stephen Boyd is one of the few NON-cads in the cast.  8)
