You cousin Debra has the same kitchen cabinets as we do!

My cousin Debra lives "out in the country".

DR Jeanne - Have you read Michael Chabon's most recent work: the novellla, "The Final Solution", and "The Yiddish Policeman's Union"?

*And I just checked Amazon, and am wondering why I didn't realize he had a new book out this past October, hmm....

I believe Michael Chabon will be in the Tacoma area week after next.

Here are others awaiting some scrumptious spaghetti:

My cousin-in-law David, my mother, my cousin Ashley, wife of David (and daughter of my cousin Butch and his first wife Pam), and my cousin Chad (cousin Debra's oldest...21 years old and a 2007 graduate from Clemson University).

DR Jennifer - ~~~~~FEEL BETTER VIBES TO YOU~~~~~

*And if the pain starts to get really sharp and painful, I'd go see a doctor ASAP - it could be something internal.

Something internal?  How many vertabrae do you have on the outside of your body?

"Suggestipom" of course meaning a suggestion of such wonderful significance that it has a figurative pom pom on top

I must learn how to type

Constantine Maroulis was just on Paula Dean's show, and sang a little opera.  Sounded very good to me.

DR Ron, you might want to remove your relatives' last names from your post. They may not want to be found via Google.

When we moved from Johnston to Greenville in 1957, we first lived in a house on Dixie Avenue in a now-historic district that looks much the same now as it did then.  When driving through, I get strong sensations of riding my bicycle  along the streets and roller skating a downhill sidewalk.

The best house I lived in there was at 28 Blythewood Drive.  It was on a street that separated my grandfather's street from the street that borders Bob Jones University! (BJU has bought up tons of neighborhood land over the past 30 years.  At the time I lived there, BJU was a closed campus.

This is our house on Blythewood (the tree in the front yard was planted in the early 1960s after we moved in and my mom had the yard  landscaped. Two scrubby pines were removed,  shrubs were planted and a couple of trees, too.  I never saw them get much taller than 12 feet.  But that was 42 years ago!!!

Tonight I tried taking one final series of holiday light photos - this one house a few miles from me that really does it up, with enough display for ten normal houses.  But the photos all came out blurry.  So that will have to wait until next year when I will try again.

Maybe we could all chip-in and buy you a tripod!

This will be my last photo this evening.  This is my grandfather's house on Twinbrook Drive.  Now, as then, it was a rather "nice" neighborhood for Greenville although it was much "newer".  Today, it has a slightly "overgrown" look to it with huge trees and bushy shrubs.  There is a creek that runs alongside the left side of the house and my grandmother had the far left bank beautifully landscaped.  A small bridge linked the opposite bank in the back yard.  I spent many hours of my early teens walking along that "left" bank while my folks were inside visiting/yakking with my "Papa"and"MaMa".

I'm pretty sure that would add up to  some serious jail time for all concerned, Tom...after all,  that's  interstate trafficking, isn't it?

Your niece is a beauty!

If you mean Becky, she's my first cousin once removed.  She's my mother's great niece.

Time to watch some television (even reruns of Ghost Whisperer are fun).

And then there's the matter of getting some grub!

My Aunt Doris is taking wrap off a bowl of salad.  Debra has just turned away from tasting my sauce, which is in that pot on the stove.  And my 17-year-old cousin Becky is there because she's always around her Momma and DoDo (her name for my Aunt Doris) when food is being set out!

Ron, I never thought I would say this to you, but your DoDo is beautiful.

Thanks for the lovely comments.   :-*

They are all, all of them, the reason I go "home to my roots" for two weeks each Christmas.

Ron, I never thought I would say this to you, but your DoDo is beautiful.

She was a finalist in the Mrs. South Carolina pageant three times.  And she used to have a lovely singing voice.
