Well, you've read the notes, the notes felt like the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they were going to come home on a Monday, but it felt like a Tuesday and they got confused.
-
And the word of the day is: MARMOREAL!
-
I don't like going back to work after having a Monday off. I'd much rather have Friday off for the three-day weekend, but that's just me.
-
And now, to bed.
-
TOD:
I think it would have to be My Fair Lady/
It was still fresh and new and the excitement of the opening night was still evident
-
From yesterday:
Ben posted the link for the Archies Sugar, Sugar.
If you think about it the show was ahead of its time. Long before MTV and their music videos.
-
Finally gave in and joined Facebook. My friend told me I was on it. For the life of me I couldn't remember joining and finally figured out that I must have responded to a friends request to join and never did anything about it.
I've already reconnected with two old friends and one new one who knows BK and now lives in Florida. He's been on several of BK recordings.
And I decided to go through my old phone books to see who else I could see if they were out there and found a DR name in my book and forgot that I knew him by Francis all those years ago!
it will be nice to see if how many will respond to my requests
-
I woke up rather abruptly this morning
I had a nightmare (or an early morning-mare) Can't remember the last time I had one of those!
It involved a German Shepherd being hit by a car, Would like to know where that came from or any of the other people who populated my dream that I have never met.
-
Have to go for blood test today.
-
I'm back at the office after a nice weekend on Long Island.
I have an appointment for a physical this morning at 11:30.
I have a meeting at the Rockefeller Foundation on Thursday from 3-5.
I'm still working on the Otto Bremer Foundation.
That is all.

~~~SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~
for DR JoseSPiano!!!!
TOD: I guess it would have to be the original cast recording of FOLLIES. What a score, and what an original cast!
-
TOD: I guess it would have to be the original cast recording of FOLLIES. What a score, and what an original cast!
That would be my answer, too, but I'd also like to have been there as the cast was told about the cuts being made to their songs, how some songs weren't going to be recorded at all, and see the various reactions. I'd also like to have seen the expressions on the faces of the creators as their work was truncated for the recording.
-
Good morning!
Not quite as cool this morning as the last week, but it was still nice. Mid-80s for the high today. OK, summer. I'm ready for you to leave NOW!
-
The cloest to a normal night of sleep that I've had in two months. It was 7 hours (though the last hour was kind of restless). And I feel ever so much better this morning. I haven't even had the hand cramps in my right hand that I have endured the last week or so. I am very eager to tell this good news to my therapist today. COuld this be my last visit? I truly hope so!
-
I am also patiently waiting the arrival of the UPS man since I have a sneaking suspicion that he's going to bring a mountain of review items for me today. Right now, I have only THE COMPLETE MONTERY POP FESTIVAL on Criterion Blu-ray, but I'm not ready to start on those discs.
If the Paramount TV box sets come, I'll start on GHOST WHISPERER. If the Disney kung fu Blu-rays come, I'll start with HERO. If they all come, I'll do whatever comes out first (which I think is HERO and its three follow-ups).
-
Good morning, all! I slept very well, even with some strange dreams, and awoke at 7:20am, only to go back to bed for another hour. I am hoping I hear from George today about these damned bookcases and possibly doing the work today or tomorrow.
I may need to run to City Center today to pick up a score for FINIAN'S RAINBOW, and I'll know that soon. Beyond that, I've got OH BOY! here and some BABES IN TOYLAND work down at Toyland, so I've got things to do.
TOD: The OBC for CANDIDE, 1956. I've always wondered if any other music was recorded at the time. I still wish Goddard Lieberson had given the recording two lps so we could have had the rest of the score committed to disc by the original cast.
-
TOD: The commercial recording session that Orson Welles walked out on.
I don't recall the product, but I've heard the tape. Anything that Welles did fascinates me.
-
TOD:
With this week's release of the remastered Beatles collection already on my mind, I think I would choose to be at the recording sessions for either SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND or The White Album.
-
Guess I'll head downstairs now and await (a) UPS man, (b) 11 a.m. leave time for my therapy appointment, (c) lunch with best friend John.
WBBL.
Good morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm hoping this bus leaves sooner rather than later.
-
Thanks for the Travel Vibes.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! I'll be away much of today, taking my mother shopping.
-
TOD - Having been briefly in the Recorded Books, Inc. studio, I'd like to have been there to watch Jim Dale record the Harry Potter audiobooks or to watch John McDonough record the Mitford books. Richard and I get such a kick out of listening to them do the various voices, especially when John does the gum-cracking, capri-pants-wearing hairdresser, Fancy Skinner. We also love it when he sings the hymns that Father Tim has selected for the various services at Lord's Chapel.
Good morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm hoping this bus leaves sooner rather than later.
You are on the bus now?
Guilty Pleasure Department: Betsy and I stayed up until midnight last night watching a show I stumbled across on A&E--Hoarders. Has anyone here seen it? The best part? Betsy, who has shall we say a....."clutter" problem immediately went out and began madly cleaning the kitchen afterwards. :)
Happy Anniversary yesterday to DR LAURA and her husband!
-
The party sounds delightful.
MINSKY'S & GAILY GAILY arrived at my house on Friday. Lovely to have it. MINSKY's had been on one of the cable services the night before....I remember having - still have - the GAILY GAILY LP - the main title song "Tomorrow Is My Friend' has always been a favorite song of mine. And Beau Bridges is....Beau Bridges - and he was my favorite, until Jeff Bridges came along.
-
Grandson of Neal Hefti.....some nice genes there.
-
a show I stumbled across on A&E--Hoarders.
I am afraid to look. I fear it may hit a little too close to home. :P
-
TOD - hmmmmmmmmmmmm
GYPSY OBC would have been fun.
But I think WILDCAT would be my pick!!
-
I came across a recycling bin this morning that had been helpfully spray-painted: PAPPER :-\
-
Lucy WILDCAT Page Two Dance.
Might have been better if she had limbered up her voice instead of her legs to make the LP. ;D
Today is a day for laundry, cleaning, cooking, and sorting.
Tonight is our first rehearsal for the High Holy Days. Church choir also starts up again this week.
-
I'm home and exhausted. It was a foggy drive, but not too foggy so it wasn't a problem. The girls are clearly happy to see me and pretending not to be so I know they aren't happy I left them.
-
I have an appointment at 2:00 PM. but other than that, will probably just stay home and relax
-
Now I think I'll take a nap
-
Thanks, JRand.
-
Good Morning. No nighmares for me last night, but was rudely awakened in the middle of the night by a charlie horse in my calf! AAAUUURRRGGGHHH!!! Haven't had one in awhile, but I guess I must have stretched my legs when I turned over or something.
-
TOD: I guess it would have to be the original cast recording of FOLLIES. What a score, and what an original cast!
I thought about that as well, but with the truncated score I think it would have been a disappointment
-
Still at the hospital for a second round of blood test. I glad I brought the laptop
-
Testing vibes for DR MICHAELS.
-
DR MBARNUM I am most excited and intrigued by the goodies that will soon be headed my way.
-
Vibes to Michael S. for the rest of the day's testing to be quick (and to rule out anything bad).
On tv tonight:
Big Brother 11
Hell's Kitchen
The season premieres of: Melrose Place and 90210.
I don't get the CW, but there is a Canadian station that is showing these 2 shows. Although on wed and thurs.
I also used to watch Melrose Place. I'll be curious to see if the new version is any good.
-
We are having a brush up rehearsal this evening.....needed more by some than others.
-
I have had a trip to the library where I did NOT meet an optometrist.
-
I would have liked to been at Marlon Brando's recording sessions for GUYS AND DOLLS.
-
I am looking forward to the new MELROSE PLACE tonight! It will start out with a murder mystery, so that should be fun!
Renders me speechless!
I watched 1 and 1/2 episodes of Here's Lucy. I made it through the first episode MOD MOD LUCY - but could not survive LUCY THE CONCLUSION JUMPER.
A 17 year old Lucie Arnaz playing 17 year old Kim Carter is just too terrible to watch. In the first episode, the writers had her trying to pantomime to her brother and mother what had happened to her while surfing.....and it was painful to watch her struggle.
Of course her mother had YEARS of experience before doing the same thing and was a master at comedy....so at 17 years old, it was unrealistic to expect that she could do as well....or even half as well....
I think I shall skip the rest of HERE'S LUCY season box sets until we get to the last season where we can see LUCY MEETS LUCILLE BALL - where Lucy Carter wanders onto the MAME set and meets....herself.
-
I did enjoy ALL three films in the Toho Collection.
In order of fun for me:
Mothra
Battle in Outer Space
The H Man
-
I think I shall skip the rest of HERE'S LUCY season box sets until we get to the last season where we can see LUCY MEETS LUCILLE BALL - where Lucy Carter wanders onto the MAME set and meets....herself.
I hope Lucy limbered up a LOT for any of the Mame sequences. As to whether or not it would have helped, I doubt it.
-
LOL DR KERRY.....
-
Now, the words "Mod Mod Lucy" are going through my head to the tune of "Goodbye, Charlie"!! Oy! ??? :-\
-
Good Afternoon!
DR JMK - I watched a few episodes of "Hoarders" this past weekend at my brother's place. Fascinating and depressing all at once. -Especially when they show some of the "non-success" stories.
-
Holy moley on rye, I guess I needed to sleep. Interestingly, not a peep from next door - no, these slightly backward oafs worked on Saturday and Monday of a holiday weekend, and, if the silence is anything to go by, are taking today off.
-
Well, let's just jump to page 3 then. Shall we? One! Two! Three!
-
We did it, boys and girls! Page 3 dance!
-
DR Matt H, your cakes sounds, not only pretty, but tasty.
Hope PT went well.
DR Vixmom, I’m curious if the school had the students watch the president’s speech today, and if not will they do so at another time.
Cute photos.
Now THAT'S great customer service!
I ordered two CDs from a small boutique label based in the UK - Regent Records.
When I got the package today, one of the CDs shipped was the wrong item. I emailed them about it, and within an hour they replied. They are shipping the correct title, and I am to keep the item sent in error with their compliments! :)
My music from 12TH NIGHT has been delayed again. May ship in October....they wanted to know if I want to cancel my order.
NO - I will wait - you have my money. Send my CD.
Am meeting Mr. Kevin Spirtas at noon at Jerry's for a work session. I have been spending just a little too much time at Jerry's, but it's convenient, I get a nice booth, and I do love my turkey sandwich and/or my bacon and eggs. Probably do the sandwich today, but sans fries, I think.
-
Checking the list, it seems as if DR SINGDAW received the same email from
www.nettwerk.com
-
I will probably NEVER order another CD from that particular company.
-
Maybe they will change the name of the place to BRUCE'S!
-
I am so damned sick of the soaps' pro-life stand! Have the abortion!
Four guests today! Creepy.
I thought each successive comedy series with Lucille Ball was worse than the one which preceded it. HERE'S LUCY was just awful as I recall, and, of course, the less said the better about LIFE WITH LUCY or whatever her last series was called.
MNuch to my disappointment, best friend John and I did not do lunch today. He had some home repair problems he had to deal with at lunch time. So, I fixed something here. Bah!
The therapy session was super easy because I was basically pain free, so I got a deep tissue massage and some stretching and that was all. However, I go back next week, I suspect for my last session, I think just to make sure the "cure" is continuing.
That happened to my sister's boyfriend with Amazon.co.uk. They sent the wrong item, they re-sent the correct item and he got to keep the wrong item...which actually was something that he was thinking about getting, anyway. It was either a CD or a DVD and both items were by the same performer/group.
PAGE FOUR DANCE!!
-
I'm so glad you are feeling better, DR Matt H.
-
I spent most of the afternoon working on HERO, the Jet Li martial arts film (the first of four martial arts movies I'll be watching and writing abouyt over the next week).
Like many movies of this type, the story is based on some Japanese legend with fact and fictional elements and martial arts staged as fantasy sequences within truly stunning visual splendor. This kind of thing is really not my cup of tea, but I can see how it would have great appeal to others.
-
Good Afternoon!
Oh...
Greetings from Richmond!
-Yes, Richmond. I just wanted to check in with my parents before heading back up to NYC, and also give them a chance to check back in with me. I shall (finally) return to NYC later tonight.
-
Ack! Ack-ack! It's Tuesday, Sept. 8th, and I'm back at work after six (count 'em 6) days off.
Yucky!!!
-
Had a dental appointment this morning. My bi-annual deep cleaning.
Yucky!
-
My dentist is a hoot, though!
-
I'm so glad you are feeling better, DR Matt H.
Thank you, DR Laura. For a while there, I was beginning to think I'd never be able to escape those constant aches and the persistent throbbing. Some stiffness is still present and will take time to work itself out of the muscles and nerves, but when asked today to rate my level of discomfort on a scale of 0-10, I could say 1 with such glee. (Last week it was a 6.)
-
Has anyone here heard of the new Barbie being issued called "Divorce Barbie"?
-
There were four bonus features on the disc, but none was longer than 24 minutes (most were much shorter than that), so I finished them with time to spare.
-
"Divorce Barbie" is supposed to have Barbie with a new wardrobe and everything that every Ken has come with.
-
I did have time to watch two episodes of LEVERAGE before I left for the therapy appointment (well, actually 1 1/2). Really enjoyed seeing the one about the race horse again. Very clever scam on a very bad guy.
-
And I ended my afternoon skimming through today's ATWT (nothing of interest though previews featured the boys tomorrow) and OLTL (Fish in a minor role).
-
I remember seeing "Hero" when I was in L.A. for What If?. Like you, it's not my usual cup of tea, but some of those action scenes and scenic vistas were truly breathtaking on the BIG screen - especially coupled with the Dolby THX soundtrack.
Wasn't there a recent two-for-one sale with Barbies? You could buy a Ken and he would come with a Barbie. But Barbie would come only with G.I. Joe.
Back from taking my mother to Walgreen's, Kroger, and Seeger's (deli & meat market). We had lunch at Seeger's, but not until almost 3pm. For someone who eats like a bird, my mother sure buys a lot at the grocery store!
My music from 12TH NIGHT has been delayed again. May ship in October....they wanted to know if I want to cancel my order.
NO - I will wait - you have my money. Send my CD.
However...
According to the band's website, All About HEM (http://www.allabouthem.com/disc/twelfthnight.htm), any pre-ordered CDs will be autographed "By who, I don't yet know, but presumably at least the songwriters, except obviously not Shakespeare!".
There's also lots of other information about the music and the recording session on the site too.
You can also see the cover artwork HERE (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/allabouthem/disc/twelfthnight.jpg).
I loved that line in the season finale....Castle and the detective are arguing over his "having people" with connections to a mob family. The detective says, "Why does this sound like a Mamet play"? Castle protests that his connections are real, and then his face brightens and he exclaims with delight, "I keep fogetting that you read plays!"
It tickles me every time I see it.
-
Well, I must hop off-line now and get started on writing up today's work project. Then it'll be back downstairs for lots of leisure viewing tonight. I don't have a clue what I'm going to watch.
"Divorce Barbie" is supposed to have Barbie with a new wardrobe and everything that every Ken has come with.
That's also why "Divorce Barbie" costs $375.00 instead of $19.95 like most of the other models. ;)
However...
I thought this "news" seemed familiar, and after some Googling, I came across this... from 2004:
Barbie and Ken: It's Over (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,111234,00.html)
Back from a productive working lunch with Mr. Kevin Spirtas - got a lot done and have structured out the song order - I'm sure I'll make changes, but it's a very good start.
-
I had no packages other than some boxes I had ordered from USPS - the fact is, I ordered six cartons of various-sized boxes and only one arrived today, despite the fact they were all shipped at exactly the same time. Happily, the one that arrived is the one I needed, the box-size I was completely out of.
Did you get your fax?
-
No word from George; if I knew another carpenter, besides Karen and Richard, I would hire him ASAP.
Also, no word from Jeff Saver.
Got the fax - I spoke strongly to them about the fact that no one had told me it was there, nor had there been a slip left in my box to alert me.
I posed and photographed it myself, too!!! ;)
;D I should watch this show.
Be careful--some of them are very disturbing, and I know one of them last night would have been for you particularly. A lady who hoarded cats (and a few dogs). I had to cover my eyes for a great deal of the episode because she had been doing it for so long and he house was in such disarray that they were finding dead animals (and skeletons) by the score. So sad.
-
BK, do you seriously think that your future neighbors to be, actually instructed the construction crew of their new house to do as much as possible to drive the neighbors crazy? If I was having a house built by a professional construction company, I would assume (yes, an ass out of me) that they would conduct themselves in such a way so as to disturbe the neighbors as little as possible. Maybe that makes me naive.
-
Well, they don't care much about the neighbors, that much I can tell you. The buck has to stop somewhere, I think, and if I were having this work be done I would have instructed the crew to do what was necessary to keep at least the talking level down, and I would NOT let them work on Saturdays or holidays, even if it meant I got into the house a few weeks later. I would also have introduced myself to the neighbors and apologized in advance for any disturbance. I would not have had heavy trucks trampling on their lawns and breaking sprinkler heads and sprinkler pipes, and, when presented with the bill for fixing same, I would not have taken seven weeks to pay them. But that's just me.
Good afternoon. I went to the office to do a couple quick things and ended up staying about 4 hours. Such is life. I am home now and glad to be here
-
I'm having a bit of a hard time today. I'm tired, but I'm also a bit down and short tempered. I realized while I was at the lake how much time I really spent with Steve and alot of the fun things I did with both Gretchen and Steve. I'm really going to miss him. I spent so much time being strong for others I didn't take time to grieve myself. I think it's just catching up with me.
I'm having a bit of a hard time today. I'm tired, but I'm also a bit down and short tempered. I realized while I was at the lake how much time I really spent with Steve and alot of the fun things I did with both Gretchen and Steve. I'm really going to miss him. I spent so much time being strong for others I didn't take time to grieve myself. I think it's just catching up with me.
I think that is only natural. You just need to let it happen.
Guilty Pleasure Department: Betsy and I stayed up until midnight last night watching a show I stumbled across on A&E--Hoarders. Has anyone here seen it? The best part? Betsy, who has shall we say a....."clutter" problem immediately went out and began madly cleaning the kitchen afterwards. :)
;D I should watch this show.
Be careful--some of them are very disturbing, and I know one of them last night would have been for you particularly. A lady who hoarded cats (and a few dogs). I had to cover my eyes for a great deal of the episode because she had been doing it for so long and he house was in such disarray that they were finding dead animals (and skeletons) by the score. So sad.
Sigh, I think I'll pass. Thanks for the warning.
Back from Gelson's to buy a few things I needed - Miss Sally Field was there.
-
DR Cilla, I was wondering when it was all going to get to you.
Did you say, "Hi"
Thanks Jane.
-
BK, I realize that today isn't Wednesday (I don't think it is), but I need to ask a very stupid question. Am I correct in assuming that Brent's Holiday album will be a Kritzerland release?
Assuming the answer is yes; any chance of getting some of the copies autographed by the WSMA (and you, of course)?
-
{{{{{DR Cillaliz}}}}}
-
Yes, it's a Kritzerland release, and yes, we'll be offering signed copies at no extra charge.
Ya-hooo!
Thanks Ginny. I'll be fine.
-
Good Evening!
...And I'm watching a "classic" episode of "Jeopardy".
That is all.
-
Did you say, "Hi"
Or you could have told her that you like her, you really like her.
-
My September book group pot luck was fun. Most everyone enjoyed the book. We all would have liked more character development. We all enjoyed the history lesson of the island of Guernsey and its German occupation during the war. The story is told completely with letters which we all found charming.
Even though my toffee cookies were a bit hit I still have plenty left to take to a friend tomorrow who is recovering from surgery.
HOO and RAY!! ;D
-
Since I've never really met her, I didn't say hello, although I smiled. She was on her cell phone, though.
-
It's a process that takes a long time, Cillaliz. Take time to remember the good times you had.
-
Can we get signed copies of The Beatles Boxed Set, too? ;)
-
While I ate my hastily concocted lunch, I watched the first of last night's CASTLE repeats. I'm looking forward to new episodes of the show.
Me to! One of my three favorite shows from last season (the other two being SOUTHLAND and LIFE ON MARS). DR MattH, when does CASTLE start again?
-
I watched MAMMA MIA yesterday. It was a very strange movie. I didn't hate it or anything - it was just weird.
She was probably on the phone to a friend saying, "Oh my gosh, I just saw Bruce Kimmel at the grocery store!"
ROTFLMAO! Well, he was right.
I can't recall the name right now, but I reviewed a British television series (which lasted for two seasons, IIRC) about this very occupation.
-
DR JMK someone mentioned the series today. I would like to watch it. Can you find the name?
Good Evening!
No. But I should be back in less than 12 hours from now.
You're invited to watch it any time with me, DR TCB. It ain't great film-making, but, it sure is fun.
-
DR JMK might it have been "Island at War"?
-
I take it back, I'm looking for a documentary not a fictionalized account.
-
Sorry that would be CHANNEL ISLANDS OCCUPIED.
IN TONI'S FOOTSTEPS
Unless you really have something against dramatized versions, ISLAND AT WAR is a beautifully told story of the occupation, and was on Masterpiece Theatre.
-
It's a process that takes a long time, Cillaliz. Take time to remember the good times you had.
Thanks, I know it does. I'm ok.
-
The person said it was on Masterpiece Theater & I can't find a documentary there, maybe she meant ISLAND AT WAR. I will add it to my NetFlix queue. Thank you.
While I was searching for the documentary I came across FOYLE'S WAR and also added the series to my queue.
-
G'night!
-
I have to wait for DR JMK's response. In the meantime I suggest reading "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie". I really dislike the title of the book, that is until I read the book & realize how appropriate it is. The disgusting sounding pie refers to one of the better dishes they had to eat during the occupation. :P
As for the Topic of the Day...
Classical: Glenn Gould recording Bach's "Goldberg Variations" - the first time - as well as the post-production editing sessions. -Just to see how idiosyncratic he really was.
Jazz: Any of the Ella Fitzgerald "Songbook" sessions. -Especially the ones where she would purposely make a mistake in order to put the band into overtime in order to help out one of the players financially.
Cast Album: For sentimental reasons: Sunday in the Park with George -Also just to see how manic Mandy Patinkin reportedly was during the session - especially during "Putting It Together".
Don't celebrate prematurely, DR TCB. Just because they might be signed doesn't mean that a phone number will necessarily be included.
-
Thank you for the link. It was a nice long tribute.
-
Thanks Ginny. I'll be fine.
I know, but a few hugs won't hurt!
-
Archerd hosted a short segment on an old game show called THE MOVIE GAME....first hosted by Sonny Fox and then by Larry Blyden. It was a pretty useless show, but it was fun to see some of the old stars who had completely forgotten some of the movies they did.....
Earl Holliman and Burt Reynolds were great players. Vera Miles said on that show that on one Friday she was cast in HOUSE OF WAX, she came to work on Monday, and Phyllis Kirk was in it....
-
When I went back downstairs, I finished the episode of LEVERAGE I had started. It was a very exciting and involving one involving a bank robbery that happened while the team was inside doing their own mission. The wonderful writing allowed them to help the people they were trying to help as well as the family who was robbing the bank because the wife was being held hostage. An excellent episode.
I watched that show every chance I could. I remember one round was about movie props, and they pulled out the prop Oscar that Judy Garland used in A STAR IS BORN.
The Great Houdini Dog Escape (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjrmbBgtlmY)
No animals were harmed in the making of this video.
-
Next I pulled another Blu-ray off my unwatched shelf - THE USUAL SUSPECTS. I had read terrible things about the transfer, but I found it just fine. True, the disc is as barebones as they come, so I'll have to keep the Collector's Edition DVD set for the bonus features and commentary, but for a low budget film (and being one of the early Blu-ray transfers), it looked as good or better than I was expecting, and the DTS-HD MA sound was a definite plus.
-
I ended my evening by watching Helen Mirren's HBO film ELIZABETH I (Part I).
I had been channel flipping and flipped on Cate Blanchette's ELIZABETH: THE GOLDEN AGE (which I found a very lacking film), so my appetite was whette to watch something better. I would have watched the Glenda Jackson ELIZABETH R, but my friend Gregg is borrowing it at the moment.
-
((((CILLA))))))
Cute dog escape!! I must show that to the Vixter!
-
The Vixter's first day of school was fine- she was much annoyed that the President's Speech was not shown to them
-
I am exhausted and cannot keep my eyes opee- so Vibes for all Good Thingsto all - and nighty night from me
I still remember experiencing quite the "mind f*ck" after seeing "The Usual Suspects" and "Seven" back to back. Whoa!
-
And vibes to VIXMOM.
thoughts for DR CILLA LIZ!!!
I agree. And what a sensational one-two punch for Kevin Spacey in his movie career!
-
My eyes are getting kind of heavy, too, so I'm going to head downstairs and go to bed.
Good night!
-
Oh...
It's Fall SETC time, and I'll be heading down to Charlotte, NC - the land of DR MattH - this coming Friday morning and staying through Monday afternoon.
I'm looking forward to getting my Cheerwine fix! :)
-
Cute dog escape!! I must show that to the Vixter!
Very cute! I sent it to my work e-mail so that I can forward it to a couple of people. :D
-
Well...
Time to get ready for my overnight trek back to NYC.
Laters...
And Goodnight.
-
And now, I must leave work and go home. I have some TV watching to do.
Until later.
-
I am going to watch a few episodes of Man Into Space....and look forward to THE NAKED AND THE DEAD on TCM....I have never seen this particular war movie.
-
Jane, I'm sorry, I simply can't remember the name. I don't think it was ISLAND AT WAR. Unfortunately I no longer have access to DVD Talk's database so can't look it up. I'll try to remember. I do remember it had someone fairly well known in it, and as soon as I remember who that is, I can look up their credits on IMDb and hopefully recreate it from that. I do remember that one of the main characters was the doctor of the island, whose daughter was part of the resistance. The doctor was forced to become part of the liaison group between the Islanders and the Nazis.
-
RLP will be so proud of me department: I Googled my way to the answer with virtually no specific search terms, LOL.
It was ENEMY AT THE DOOR, and it did indeed run for two seasons. Here's my review:
http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/36161/enemy-at-the-door-set-1/?___rd=1
-
MattH and Druxy will probably concur that when you review so many things (I did close to 600 reviews for DVDTalk in just a little over two years, as well as a score or more for Home Theater Forum in just the few months I helped out there), it's really hard sometimes to remember specifics.
-
I have just seen DISTRICT 9. Quite a lot to think about. BK should be warned however, like THE HANGOVER, this movie contains unseemly bodily functions.
This is probably the most original film I will see all year.
-
I met a friend over at nearby Aroma - she needed some chocolate and I needed a little break from writing liner notes, which are now finished and off to the designer.
-
I am writing something. I don't know what it will turn out to be. I've just written three whole pages, however.
-
Loved Sally Field's performance in THE GOAT on Broadway - quite the presence on stage.
-
Really good residents association meeting tonight.
Crime report for bk, for Studio City, Burglary 16, grand theft auto 9, BTMW (motor vehicle) 42, robbery 0.
Be back in a few (reading posts).
-
Too tired to try to be interesting.
Really happy about a lot of things taking place in Studio City. Might just stay put and not move until after the holidays.
Happy Wednesday everyone.
Night.
Watched the premier of the new version of MELROSE PLACE and rather liked it, particularly as they played a song from the Bollywood movie JAB WE MET in a scene at a party.
Nice cast and some of the characters were interesting...one guy is the spitting image of a young Kent McCord.
DR JRand, I couldn't figure out which actress was Ashlee Simpson. I guess I don't know who she is, although I have certainly heard the name before.
-
Ordered my ticket for the Mark Taper Forum for December.
That makes 5 shows I'm looking forward to seeing between this Saturday and December.
Now I'm really going to sleep.
-
Hi George.
Hi MBarnum.
-
Hi Laura.
-
Chase Daniels didn't really say "ass" did he.
