Well, you've read the notes, you understand the derivation of kumquat, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently eating kumquats and having a high old time.

And the word of the day is: MORTMAIN!
-
Topic of the Day: in my CD player at work: The Real Ambassadors (http://www.amazon.com/The-Real-Ambassadors/dp/B0013AZPU6/ref=dm_cd_album_lnk), legally downloaded (and paid for!) from Amazon.com. The physical disc is no longer available, and used copies are too expensive. $9.99 is the regular price, but sometime last month, I "earned" (and I don't know why or how) a $1 credit/coupon for any MP3 download. So, since I had just seen the Dave Brubeck Quartet live, I thought that I'd get this. It was originally supposed to be a jazz musical, but never really went beyond the recording. Also on the recording are Louis Armstrong And His Band; Carmen McRae and Lambert, Hendricks and Ross. :D
-
After The Real Ambassadors, The Manhattan Transfer's brand new CD, The Chick Corea Album (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IVLWG0/ref=ox_ya_os_product) is supposed to be delivered today. It's their first new studio album in five years. Listening to audio clips, it sounds very eclectic and the kind of CD that I will LOVE!! I don't know Chick Corea's music at all, so it's all new music to me. ;D
-
On my nightstand, waiting for me to finish reading it (I will...and soon!!): Murder At The Hollywood Historical Society (http://www.kritzerland.com/historical.htm).
After that will be Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0345518519/ref=ox_ya_os_product).
-
Good morning and good night. I needed that.
-
On my DVR to be watched: Fringe, FlashForward, Glee, Drop Dead Diva, The Joy Behar Show (has anyone seen this?) and the last three, count 'em, three episodes of Mad Men.
-
That's a lot of watching, DR George! :)

DR JoseSPiano - what is a "True Foodie"? As opposed to just a run-of-the-mill "Foodie"?

Good morning, all! I just sent Amazon.com an email asking where the hell my review had gone to, and I hope they haven't lost it, which is what I suspect. Yesterday, my morning and afternoon were quite a lot of fun, but it became a weird period after 6 pm: my cell phone refused to make calls claiming that there was no service and my email was returning my sent mails on the grounds that my return address was incorrect. When I called Time Warner to investigate the problem, I had a long wait because, clearly, other customers were having problems last night. That got me wondering if a tower or some sort of signal-receiving object had been bombed or knocked down becausae my email is Time Warner and my cell phone is Verizon and not interrelated. I still have no idea where the hell my September rent check has gone to and I'm wondering if some idiot at the US Postal Service accidentally ground it to a pulp in some postage sorting machine; I've received too many plastic bags from the US PO containing a scrap of a catalog or letter that they've managed to destroy. Then, I was up and down most of the night with an upset stomach, meaning I'll be drowsy all afternoon today. I did go ahead and post my health insurance premium yesterday so I'm hoping some payment from FR or the recording check arrives ASAP to cover it. I do not like begging for funds.
So, this morning, another band rehearsal followed at 2 pm by a sitzprobe with the cast which I am really looking forward to. Then, tomorrow, I go to Philadelphia for a concert at the Academy of Vocal Arts with my friend Bruce Pomahac, which should be a lot of fun. I may have a meeting with the NYCGMC musical director about the "Appalachian Carols" situation on Sunday but I won't know until I hear from him. After three attempts to send him an email about it last night were returned, I called and left a message on his cell phone. The ball is back in his court.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vibes for DR Jeanne! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finding the check vibes for DR ELMORE.
I am off o work. Oh well.
DR MBarnum, I see there's a stage production of BEN HUR happening in London! To me, it's one more example of bread and circuses, but it's got your name written all over it as their audience target!
-
The new Mr Hur seems a little scrawnier than Mr Heston, but perhaps they were looking for another Ramon Navarro?
-
Our dear friend Rick Unterberg wrote a really funny Ben-Hur song once. This is from memory, but I think the chorus went something like:
If you'da been Judah Ben-Hur
If you'da been Judah Ben-Hur
What would you have done if you'da been him
If you'da been Judah Ben-Hur
-
This is the same fellow who wrote the wonderful "Golda Meir, my eye."
-
TOD: movies-- "Nashville" (just watched) and "A Wedding" (still to watch)-- neither of which I've seen since they were orginally released. I'm having a mini Robert Altman festival, I guess.
CD's-- a three disc Kay Thomspon set and a copy of a CD I made for a friend a few years ago. I love the songs, but they are not mcuh to his taste, so Lord only knows what he thought of it (that is, if he played it all the way through).
Soundtracks to "Harlow" and to "Gigi"
Reading DR elmore3003's post this morning, a phrase from the Yom Kippur prayer book came to mind; the one about the "alphabet of woe."
Ben-Hur, the Musical. Featuring "The Dance of the Seven Loin Cloths."
And the word of the day is: MORTMAIN!
And The Song Of The Day Is: TAKE CARE OF THIS HOUSE
-
Good morning.
-
On DVD this weekend, I have FLASHPOINT, Season 1, MEDIUM, Season 5, LAW & ORDER:SVU, Season 10 and NIP/TUCK, Season 5.2.
If that's not enough to keep me busy, on Sunday we're going to see THE PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at the ZAC.
-
Good morning!
Not quite as cool this morning but cool enough to make sleep very pleasurable and to have the windows in the house open without freezing. I'm sitting in front of an open window in my office right now, and the fresh air is so wonderful.
-
Today I start on MEDIUM - Season Five as my work project. Since there were only 18 episodes last season, I may be able to finish this one in two days with really concentrated effort.
-
BK, you won't be blown away with the DIE HARD transfer on Blu-ray, I don't think. It's good but not exemplary. Neither is DIE HARD 2. But DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE (#3), which has always looked hideous on home video (I had the laser and the DVD), looks amazing. It's a HUGE step-up from any other issue of that movie.
-
Friday Media Check:
CD - SWEENEY TODD (Doyle version), disc 2
DVD - MEDIUM - Season 5, discs 1 and 2
THE WIZARD OF OZ (Blu-ray) (as time permits)
DVR - Monday night's HEROES
last night's THE MENTALIST (to be watched during lunch today)
last night's GREY'S ANATOMY
last night's FLASH FORWARD
last night's THE OFFICE
last night's PROJECT RUNWAY
-
On the TV front, there's a new STARGATE series that begins tonight on Syfy at 9 with a two hour movie pilot starring Robert Carlyle.
UGLY BETTY doesn't return until next Friday when it will have a two hour season premiere.
No PSYCH or MONK tonight. I'm not sure why.
Don't forget about MEDIUM on its new night and time: CBS tonight at 9 p.m. following GHOST WHISPERER.
-
And this should take us to Page Two!
-
Page Two Dance!!!
-
I just heard the UPS man drop something at the front door. I'm assumning this is FLASHPOINT - Season 1. Of course, it doesn't come out until October 13th, so it must wait its turn after MEDIUM.
-
Friday morning greetings! It's pouring rain in SW Ohio today - hope it clears up for the opening night of
Middfest International (http://www.middfestinternational.org)
-
I just checked. It wasn't FLASHPOINT at all; it was Disney's THE PROPOSAL on Blu-ray. It, too, doesn't come out until the 13th, so it'll have to wait until after I finish MEDIUM (which comes out on Tuesday).
-
Heading down now to get cleaned up to go out later on my various Friday outings.
Still waiting for TARAS BULBA in the rainy northwest.
My movie watching has been split between review duties and just plain ol' fun stuff. Have reviews finished or soon to go live on FIGHTING (horrible), WINGED MIGRATION (absolutely astounding, but with a troubling backstory) and SILVERADO (fun as always, and I love me my Bruce Broughton score!). For fun (I'm sure this will send Elmore out vomiting on the ground), I've been revisiting VAN HELSING in its BD incarnation. I actually think the movie is quite a bit of fun, though, boy, are the skin tones odd in this transfer. I have to go back and see if they looked this way on the DVD.
For you NW-ers, Fred's is having a 30% BD sale, storewide. I picked up a bunch of stuff, including a ton of stuff that had $10 off coupons for BD upgrades which means I'm only spending a couple of bucks after the rebates to upgrade.
Plus I just found out I can review the Ultimate Collectors Edition of Snow White, which means tax write-off, baby. :)
-
Friday media check:
DVDs - Mad Men, Season 1, Disc 1; Damages, complete first season.
CDs (car) - Finain's Rainbow and Ragtime, in preparation for seeing both later this month in NYC.
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm currently watching "The Martha Stewart Show". Today's topic is "social networking", so she's covering texting, Facebook, Twitter, etc. She's "trying" to show how the technology works in "real time". Alas, this show was taped this past Wednesday afternoon. Hmmm...
More nonsense - but this time from LATIMES (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-olympics-chicago3-2009oct03,0,1471810.story)
The decision dashes the hopes of U.S. boosters -- President Obama chief among them -- who had put their reputations on the line to help win the games for Chicago.
Where and when, pray tell, did the President "put his reputation on the line" - he simply led a cheering team. Folks who cheer on a losing side in a competition do not have compromised reputations.
Jose, I think that falls into the "I am not surprised he is having sex with his employees" category.
I haven't read "everything" that's out there, but...
He's certainly not the first "boss" to have sexual relationships with his employees, and he most certainly won't be the last.
Even though he had been seeing the mother of his child for two decades, they did not marry until this past March. So, unless, some of the "terrible things" happened during the past couple of months, well...
And I do admire Mr. Letterman for wanting to protect not only his family, but also staffers with whom he had sexual relationships. -Now, if some of those staffers decide to make their identities known, well...
-
If there had been sexual harassment issues Mr. Letterman would not have spoken out. What he did was smart and honest. In one fell swoop he nailed the creep who tried to blackmail him, and diffused any possibility of anyone else trying to exploit this situation for gain. He just put it out there - hard to blackmail when someone just admits everything on national television. I thought it was perfectly done.
Longtime CBS News producer has been indicted for allegedly attempting to extort $2 million from late night comedian David Letterman.
(http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,559005,00.html)
Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau announced the indictment Friday against Robert (Joe) Halderman, a 51-year-old producer of the true-crime show “48 Hours." Halderman, of Connecticut, is charged with one count of attempted grand larceny. If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison.
Woman in Letterman Case Lived with Suspect
Posted Oct 2nd 2009 8:48AM by TMZ Staff
One of the women at the center of the David Letterman alleged extortion case is Stephanie Birkitt, his former assistant -- according to the search warrant obtained by FOX 5 New York. And, the warrant says, Birkitt was the suspect's girlfriend and we've learned she was living with him until recently.
According to the warrant, the suspect, "48 Hours" producer Robert "Joe" Halderman, sent Letterman a package which allegedly included treatments for a screenplay with supporting materials.
The warrant goes on to say the "supporting materials" included copies of parts of a diary and correspondence belonging to Birkitt.
Halderman allegedly sent more documents, including letters, emails and photos.
On September 23, Halderman allegedly told undercover cops he wouldn't make the diary public if Letterman anted up $2 million.
(http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aacm_prd/on/demandware.static/Sites-WB-Site/Sites-master-catalog/default/v1254501419186/Images/HEImages/ExtView/2/2390092.jpeg)
For me, this is not exactly good news. Oh, I'm glad we'll get the movie, but I had high hopes that Warners would do ONE more Judy box set called EARLY JUDY or something similar with all of her earliest films through LITTLE NELLIE KELLY. Now, I guess LISTEN DARLING, THOROUGHBREDS DON'T CRY and NELLIE will all eventually come out in Archive releases like EVERYBODY SING.
-
The grocery store was not crowded at all this morning, so I was in and out in record time. I LOVE it when that happens.
-
I watched last night's THE MENTALIST while I ate lunch. Really enjoyed the episode, and I loved the ruse that led to the confession. I had guessed the relationship between the husband and wife as soon as Patrick made the comment early in the episode.
-
Then I watched the first four MEDIUM episodes in the fifth season box set. There were several of the first four in which Allison was possessed by some sort of spirit. In one, she starts building a bomb. In another, she thinks she was responsible for a hit and run accident but what happens was much worse as she slowly realizes she's been involved in a murder of a human trafficker.
-
My favorite of the first four was the one with the doctor who was allowing his colleague to let him die so his ghost could spy on rich folks doing wrong (shades of David Letterman), and then be brought back to life so they could be blackmailed. I just LOVED the ending of this one with the arrogant colleague who thought they had no proof on her.
-
With 30 minutes left, there wasn't enough time to watch another MEDIUM episode, so I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. The boys were on, and profesor Mason finally made the long-rumored pass at Noah. A fairly good start to the upcoming jealousy story arc.
-
Kyle and FIsh were on OLTL today, so I enjoyed their storyline even more. Nick was also part of that story and also a story in which he interviewed the two mayoral candidates to get their views on equal rights. David Vickers Buchanan (Tuc Watkins) was especially humorous as always.
-
DR JMK - They're on the outside of the box, underneath the back flap touting the features contained therein.
Thank you, kind sir. You have hereby earned one "get out of a lame JMK joke free" credit for your efforts. Redeem at will.
Listening to TARAS BULBA. What a lovely score. Shades of Lt. Kije in a couple of cues. Bruce, this is the best sounding Kritzerland soundtrack release yet, by far.
-
Just read on the net that UGLY BETTY's return to primetime has been delayed a week, so instead of the two hour premiere coming next Friday night, it's two weeks from tonight.
-
And speaking of the Ultimate Collector's Edition of THE WIZARD OF OZ, mine did NOT come in the mail today.
Color me VERY angry.
-
Now I need to head downstairs and pick back up with some more MEDIUM episodes.
The one who escaped ouster has been doing excellent work every week. This person is very, very, very, very lucky...and got a reprieve, I'm certain, based on past designs. But they won't look the other way a second time, I'm equally certain.
Evicted person was strong in the first few weeks but this is the second week this person has been really sucky. Wasn't surprised, or sad, to see this person go. WISH, WISH, WISH this person's gossipy, bitchy partner had gone, too.
You don't need to worry. Everyone already knows you're a lesbian.
The rehearsal was tense this morning, fraught with problems, but after lunch break, the cast arrived, along with all of the producers, the band played well, and everyone was all smiles afterward. Cheyenne Jackson likes my work. Everyone loves the orchestration of the drunk scene.
I do have several fixes in a couple of numbers, but I think we're in good shape. On Monday morning, I have sound checks and a run through of Act One in the afternoon.
And my review on Amazon.com is now posted.
According to our Judy Expert (Anthony) this is not a picture of Judy from Everbody Sing. It's a picture of Judy from Broadway Melody of 1938 (made in 1937) where she SINGS Everybody Sing!
Well, so much for a day off - tomorrow and Sunday - NO WORK! After the jog, I did my several errands, then had some mac and cheese at Hugo's while doing a little work. When I got home, I named the track titles for the second half of our next release, plus did an edit road map of it for the mastering guy. Then I sat down with a DVD of the first film, and gave track titles to that and did a new edit road map with the track titles, so hopefully he'll be able to have this by Monday or Tuesday, at least in some form to listen to. One of the scores is easy, but the other is on three-track tapes and has to be mixed (not that difficult save for figuring out where the instruments go in the stereo spread). You see, these three-track film recordings from that era were not really intended to be mixed for stereo - they did it to have some control over the blends when things would be mixed to mono, but since we do have the tracks, I like to put it in stereo - more fun.
-
I think maybe I'll watch Die Hard tonight.
Here's elmore's wonderful review from amazon:
A very good person involved with the Hollywood Historical Society has been found dead, and teenage journalist/sleuth Adriana Hoffstetter refuses to accept the coroner's ruling on the cause of death. Luckily, it's Christmas vacation and she has time on her hands. This is Bruce Kimmel's third mystery featuring the delightfully eccentric Adriana Hofstetter, and, while the book will appeal to young readers, like the first two in the series, a major part of the book's success is that it's really written for the eccentric teenager in many adult readers: she loves old movies, historic aspects of her hometown, period fashion, her cat, her mother, and her gay best friend Billy Feldman. While she can be an aggressive interrogator working on her case, she's a model of good breeding and politeness, something a major suspect in this book severely lacks. Wise beyond her years, she suffers fools with a sense of humor and tolerance.
The first two Hofstetter mysteries were fun, but Mr Kimmel finds his stride here and makes a great success of his material, his heroine, and his supporting cast. I find his portraits of retired directors, film scholars, hangers-on, and letches the best and most amusing list of suspects in all three novels. For film buffs there is the added interest of the possible inspirations for these colorful characters, and i have my thoughts on the matter.
If you have a teenage daughter, niece, granddaughter, godchild, or friend, introduce her to Adriana Hofstetter. And buy a copy for yourself. And, Kimmel, I'm waiting for No. 4!
-
Very nice :)
-
Question for BK:
Is there any possibility that the Hoffstetter books' stories might translate to the musical stage?
-
I just heard from a reliable source that certain member here at HHW will be having their play read by one of the many producers of the musical Next To Normal over the weekend
DR Cilla what happened with the space in the building you coveted? Never mind, I read why you aren’t taking that one-LOL.
Good luck finding a space you love!
I think I've found the space I want. It happened in a funny way. I approached a friend about office sharing yesterday, he wasn't interested but said he'd look. today he got in a dispute with his land lord and came to look at space I've already looked at His attitude took me a bit by surprise, he clearly seemed to think he would have the lions share of the space and I'd have a little bit of it. I immediately realized I really don't want to share and I do want that space.
It's in my building and the building manager takes off on Mondays and Fridays, so I'll approach her again on Tuesday. I've checked the comps around downtown - lots of space and rents going down and I have the average per square foot rate for the past year. This space has a not so good view, but plenty of natural light and it's good sized, quiet and private and already has a good lay out.
The nice thing is that the space is empty and unlocked and I was told I could go see it any time I want to, so I've been in there a number of times, with the building manager, alone with Edith, with Edith and the maintenance man who would do the build out - if necessary, with my friend and alone. Every time I go there, I like it more and see more possibilities. Edith likes it too and says it feels really comfortable. It's 1820 square feet -plenty of room for the expansion I think will happen in the next couple years. I am very excited.
I hope they'll accept my proposal.
-
DR Cilla, vibes it is yours if you want it, and isn't taken by say, a "friend".
-
DR Cilla, vibes it is yours if you want it, and isn't taken by say, a "friend".
No, he doesn't like it - he was very negative about it and said he thinks he looked at the same space a couple years ago. He thinks we're going to look at another bigger space on Tuesday. This space has been empty for a number of years. It needs updating, but they will do that. No one else is looking at the space. I'm not worried about losing it
-
I can picture the young star of GLEE as Adriana.
-
Well, I'm off now. Today in Olympia is ArtsWalk and the Washington Center for the Performing Arts is open to the public with art hanging all over the theater (probably not the main stage, though). I'll be working at the concessions counter. :)
Until later!
-
Besides, my building manager really likes me. She looked at the space with me and wouldn't rent it without making sure I don't want it.
That's good & I think you are better off not sharing a space. The complications can be such a pain & you've worked so hard to be independent.
Do you think overall you will prefer this fixed up space to expanding using the space you currently have?
My June order with them seems to "stall"!
I can't email them; their links are "dead" (?) ...
I faxed them but they are ignoring me, it seems! VERY weird!
I should set Adriana on that case, for sure! ;)
Yes, much better. I think my office is beautiful, I think the office next door is beautiful. They are completely different styles that would be hard to reconfigure, but they both look good and have good views. I now know that even though the other office has a bathroom, it is far from sound proof, lol. I just can't visualize a layout that will work in the way I want it to and I don't know exactly when the current lessee is going to be moving. The other space will work pretty much as it is with a few modifications
-
Plus the space I have now isn't sound proof enough and that bothers me. I am also bothered more and more by the denizens of the skywalks. Recent thefts during the middle of the day and some other things happening make me uncomfortable to be there alone at night, a time I tend to be quite productive. The new space will at least be restricted after 6:00 PM and on weekends. I like that
I'll be curious if you like this. I really want to see it. I suggested it at my library. So i'm pretty sure they will get it. Although probably not for a few weeks.
So did we. Keith had no idea who she is. When Kristin first began do speak he kind of exclaimed, "She can sing?" We thought she was great.
DR Ginny I laughed during the song near the end of the show & asked Keith if he thought that was the one you found too racy for high school students ;D I'm so glad we don't have to worry about these things anymore.
I loved the duet with Kristin & Lea (Rachel). Speaking of Lea Michele I did not realize she comes to GLEE from Broadway.
I've seen her twice on New York stages, she was The Little Girl in RAGTIME.
Well Kristin has been on broadway a number of times. She has been on other tv shows like THE WEST WING and PUSHING DAISIES. I wonder if most people watching GLEE were already familiar with her. I"m sure a lot were. Did you ever watch PUSHING DAISIES? She got to sing and be her quirky self on that show (she just won an emmy for it).
So did we. Keith had no idea who she is. When Kristin first began do speak he kind of exclaimed, "She can sing?" We thought she was great.
DR Ginny I laughed during the song near the end of the show & asked Keith if he thought that was the one you found too racy for high school students ;D I'm so glad we don't have to worry about these things anymore.
I loved the duet with Kristin & Lea (Rachel). Speaking of Lea Michele I did not realize she comes to GLEE from Broadway.
Well Kristin has been on broadway a number of times. She has been on other tv shows like THE WEST WING and PUSHING DAISIES. I wonder if most people watching GLEE were already familiar with her. I"m sure a lot were. Did you ever watch PUSHING DAISIES? She got to sing and be her quirky self on that show (she just won an emmy for it).
I know who she is, just Keith didn't. We did watch the first episodes of DAISIES and that was it.
Hollywood is one of the last places I want to go to. National Parks are much nicer. So is Paris :)
You must have seen her in the recent TV version of MUSIC MAN that most DR here seem to "hate"!
When she wants to, she can use her soprano voice to the best effects and not sound nasal at all! Used properly, her voice is faboo! BUT, "give" me Rebecca (Luker) anytime!
She tends to sound nasal when she sings "cute"!
Speaking of Lea Michele I did not realize she comes to GLEE from Broadway.
I've seen her twice on New York stages, she was The Little Girl in RAGTIME.
Many years later, she was the female lead in SPRING AWAKENING.
I liked RAGTIME much better.
I wish I could have seen RAGTIME. I love the score!
Unfortunately, I have also heard anecdotal evidence of serious problems in receiving orders placed to the "new" Footlight Records. :(
Not good! Not good!
They shoudl hire you if they are short of people, or incompetent!
What nice news about the play, Michael S.
-
I have had a complete MEDIUM-sized evening of viewing. Today I watched nine complete episodes of MEDIUM and got halfway through the 10th episode. I needed to get at least halfway through the set, so I did get that accomplished.
The show is so engaging; every week is a different set-up, a different puzzle for Allison and the audience to figure out. And it's satisfying that we get answers usually by the end of the show (unless it's a two part episode).
It's been a very underrated show for all of the years it's been on the air.
-
I think RAGTIME is one of the great Broadway musicals of the last 20 years. Its run should have been at least double to what it attained.
-
There has been one bonus feature thus far on the first three discs: a behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of the episode "Apocalypse...Now?" which was a super episode where Allison kept dreaming about a nuclear meltdown and a man and young girl living in a bomb shelter trying to survive.
-
I did not watch any of the shows on tonight; everything was recorded, and other than THE MENTALIST that I saw at lunchtime, I didn't get to any of the other recorded shows from this past week which are all still on my DVR.
-
Thanks FJL!
-
Happy Friday night.
-
After work I went to Target to cancel my credit card and check out what cd's/dvd's were on sale. The Beatles new cd's were 11.98 (buy 2 get a 5.00 gift card), so I bought 5, less than 10.00 ea. So I'm having a happy nostalgic Friday night music wise.
I did not realize the early cd's were only about 30 minutes. Guess when I was young an album seemed longer.
Just listened to Taras Bulba, really wonderful.
-
Since I was up late last night, I'm making an early night of it and heading down to bed.
Good night!
I like what Laura said. Who cares about Letterman.
FJL isn't the only lucky one around here. I just got this:
Dear Friend, with a very desperate need for assistance, I have summed up courage to contact you. I am presently in Iraq with the USA marine platoon; I found your contact particulars in an Address journal. I am seeking your assistance to evacuate the sum of $1,700,000.00 (One million Seven hundred thousand dollars) to you, as far as I can be assured that it will be safe in your care until I complete my service here. This is no stolen money, and there are no dangers involved. SOURCE OF MONEY: some money in various currencies was discovered concealed in barrels with piles of weapons and ammunitions at a location near one of Saddam's old palaces during a rescue operation, and it was agreed by all party present that the money be shared amongst us, this was quite an illegal thing to do, but I tell you what? No compensation can make up for the risks we have taken with our lives in this hell hole. The above figure was given to me as my share, and to conceal this kind of money became a problem for me, so with the help of a German contact working here, and his office enjoys some immunity, I was able to get the package out to a safe location entirely out of troublespot. He does not know the real contents of the package, and believes that it belongs to an Asian American who died in an air raid, and before giving up, trusted me to hand over the package to his family.There is a secured way of getting the package out to a safer country for you to pick up, and i will discuss this with you when I am sure that you are willing to assist me. One passionate appeal I will make to you is not to discuss this matter with a third party, should you have reasons to reject this offer. Please destroy this mail as any leakage of this information will be too bad for us. I do not know for how long we will remain here but hopefully before the year runs out, I have survived 2 suicide bomb tacks by the special grace of God, this and other reasons I will mention later has prompted me to reach out for help. Please reply to my personal email: robinmorgan3@hotmail.com or your response will not be hournedRespectfully,Capt. Robin Morgan
