Tittup is kind of a June Wilkinson word, isn't it?
Woo Hoo! It's October!! You know what that means!!!!
I may JUST make it!!
Only one more month of summer!!
Oy, I managed to survive watching Blue Mountain State for my review, but the studio wants me to IV the cast. Double oy.
I have some interesting stuff today, including a rare staging of RIENZI (extremely truncated, but interesting) and Abbado conducting the Mahler 6.
Ms Wilkinson was DR CP's twisting partner, if I recall correctly - or perhaps he saw Ms Wilkinson doing the twist with Mr Harlan Ellison - in any case, it is some story!

I sure wish you would speak English! I didn't understand a word.
And the word of the day is: TITTUP!

I sure hope BK and JRand feel better soon!
What a morning! I woke and readied myself and went to work as usual, in spite of the torrential rains we are having. I caught my train to Conshohocken in Philly and tried to get into a new book but I found myself more interested in the flooded streets we were passing. The train came to a halt at the first stop at Temple University and sat for almost ten minutes before the conductors announced that the train would not be going any further down the line and that it would be returning to the Market East station. Well, that took another fifteen minutes before that happened. Meanwhile, I discovered that my cell phone was dead and I couldn't communicate with my office. I had to wait until I took the High Speed Line back to my car in Jersey before I could charge my phone and call Conshohocken. And once I did I discovered that the Schuylkill River was overflowing the banks and that the water was beginning to approach the office building. The office manager told everyone to go home at 11:45. Me, I came home, ate a donut and laid down to take a nap.
Hmmm...some stories don't carry as much of an impact as you think they will once you type them out...
According to a statement from the actor's manager, Mike Einfeld, the Curtis family requests that in lieu of flowers, charitable donations be made to Shiloh Horse Rescue, which helps "abused, unwanted, neglected, and slaughter bound horses of all types."
Did anyone else see/hear that Greg Giraldo (Last Comic Standing) died two days ago. I was shocked to see Jon Stewart's homage to him on the Late Show of 9/29, which I had recorded and just got to last night. I saw no news reporting of this at all.

Jennifer we watched THE GOOD WIFE last night-yup, excellent episode.
I am home, I am totally crabby and pissed, and I have to write some stern emails. Maybe that will cheer me up.

I just love this show.
Word is Out is a wonderful piece of work. I saw it years ago in a theatre and it's well worth viewing more than once.
This day is not going so well between crap work at Toyland, a diva tenor, and the record producer who's aggravated the recording sessions about visitors.
I have noticed on Encore Westerns, since they have begun showing THE VIRGINIAN reruns, they also run a little mini-interview in between shows which has Gary Clarke talking about an episode they all did with an ape.
I must say, Gary Clarke has aged very well.
I am in Montreal and saw that Jews In Baseball is opening today. It is playing at one small theater in the suburbs. Its about a 30 minute drive from where i'm staying

Last night I was excited to discover recorded episodes of Cheyenne on our DVR. For the moment we are receiving Encore Westerns. I quickly searched for a few other shows we like and only found Maverick to record.
How long we will have the station I have no idea. Directv never takes the time to even inform us when they offer a free trial on a station.
Topic of the Day: I got on a Goldilocks (http://www.amazon.com/Goldilocks-1958-Original-Broadway-Cast/dp/B0000027WO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1285965175&sr=1-1) kick, so I bought The Leroy Anderson Collection (http://www.amazon.com/Leroy-Anderson-Collection-discs/dp/B000009HTO/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1285965219&sr=1-1) (Larry, is this where those MP3 tracks came from?) and Leroy Anderson: Orchestral Music, Vol. 5 (http://www.amazon.com/Leroy-Anderson-Orchestral-Music-Vol/dp/B001HBX8TG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1285965132&sr=1-1). Both of these recordings have extended music (orchestral and vocal) written for Goldilocks but not used on the original cast recording. I'm putting together a complete recording with all the extended stuff added to the original recording. :)
"The Leroy Anderson Collection" also has a couple of vocal tracks by Kim Criswell! :D

The Encore freebie is part of Starz free weekend. If you go into your Guide, the info is there.
I thinking people in the entertainment business should be extra careful the next few days
Gloria Stewart, Tony Curtis, Steohen J Cannell, Greg Giraldo, "Joe" Mantell (oscar nominee for Marty), Eddie Fisher, Grace Bradley Boyd (Actress & wife of Hopalong Cassidy), Harold Gould.
Now how many will make it to the In Memoriam section of the Oscar telecast. They always leave out a few people.

Stephen J. Cannell just joined the list.

Evidently different than Steohen J Cannell. ;D
Larry, I took the liberty of sending those Anderson MP3s to one of my contacts at Naxos, who is a big Anderson fan. He LOVED them!
I just woke up from a nap. I almost never take napes. During said nap I had a dream. I dreamt that I went into the pastor's office for something, and I discovered that his entire office had been packed up and was empty. I guess that was his way of giving his notice.
George when do you begin your new position? Will that be the same day you begin training for it or the day training ends?
Funny about the Good Wife, Keith & I disagree who she should be with. :)

It's funny but I've never considered Cote St Luc (where the movie is playing) the suburbs.
Will you get to go home earlier?

Who do you each think? Me I love Mr. Big! (Chris Noth).
Greetings from Toyland! It was a wet trip to get here.
This has been an uncomfortable Toyland week, so I'm here to copy samples from a few scores, take home a few things, complete a couple of projects, and get home to organize things I need for a week in the recording studio. We're having a guest from another Institute project coming in for God knows how long and needing an office space, so I need to make a space as well for him/her.
I forgot to mention that the diva tenor continues to be a problem. I do hope we do not have to fire him during tomorrow's session, but the music director tells me he's concerned.
So, while the bad news continues:The Oaf Above Me Is Back! ! !
It's been so quiet after midnight lately that I forgot to use the earplugs last night, and sure enough, I was awakened by a slamming door sometime after midnight and then at 1:30 a woman screaming as if someone just bit a part of her anatomy too violently. I then foudn the earplugs.

But to at least have the stumble-through I'm having the singer I'm working with learn the girl's four songs - that way she can sing them and that will enable me to know the order is good and working.Sounds like good insurance.

And one of a slice of that beauty.
To make it seem as if one is not of the oinker family, you cut it into 12 slices. But three of us did manage to oink our way through half of the pie by the end of the evening.(http://www.savorsa.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/derby-pie.jpg)
And one of a slice of that beauty.
Oh... I thought it would be cut into just six slices. ;)
