A Very Happy Father's Day to All Fathers and Fathers-by-Proxy!! ;D
And the word of the day is: EISEGESIS!
Happy Father's Day to all Fathers - and you KNOW who you are!
DR JOSE - were you wearing a baseball cap during your bus adventure yesterday?
It is raining again this morning, and right now I am watching NO, MY DARLING DAUGHTER and waiting for Rad Fulton to make his first entrance.
Mr James Westmoreland said he enjoyed working with Sir Michael Redgrave very much - he didn't mention Juliet Mills or Michael Craig.
The Bob Crewe Generation does AN ANGEL IS LOVE:

Anyhoo, I have been scouring eBay for a decent copy of said album and over the course of the past couple of years have gotten 3, 2 of which were badly damaged. I finally got a near mint copy and was pulling the first two to put in the donation pile when I noticed something really peculiar. Two of the three copies list 25 Songs from 25 Films as the subtitle, but one lists 24 Songs from 24 Films as the subtitle, and is missing the delightful "An Angel is Love" from BARBARELLA. (A fantastic Gregory arrangement). I think this is most peculiar and can't for the life of me figure out why they would have to pull one song, especially on what was probably a one shot limited release deal made to Columbia Record Club members. Also, that version has a red label different from the typical Columbia Musical Treasuries Gold Label.
Darlene always sends the best cards. And she was such a good wife too.

Indeed Rad did enjoy working with Juliet Mills very much, and in fact I got the two of the together a few years ago when I met Ms. Mills at the Ray Court's Hollywood Show and she told me to tell Rad/James to come by the studio (she was working on a soap opera at the time...maybe she still is). I can't remember if he ever did meet up with her or not.
I will soon be heading up to Portland to meet friends Mark and Greg for breakfast then head downtown to experience Gay Pride 2011.
And...
Since I should have probably left for my storage unit an hour ago...
All I really need to get is my big piece of luggage and pack it with my "summer clothes". As long as I don't start getting anal retentive and OCD about the rest of the stuff in there, well...
And then once that is done, I can proceed with the rest of my day.
The music in NO MY DARLING DAUGHTER is most irritating.
I liked the title song.....but the WAH WAH WAH Mickey Mousing gets to be annoying.

I have the same problems with the DeVol scores for the Doris Day movies of the 1960s!
PASSIONS was one screwy show!

You really need a Nook or a Kindle. You could read anything and it wouldn't be too heavy. Many libraries have downloadable books

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
And, well...
Remember that wonderful "speech" that that adorable kid gave about riding his bike? Well...
If you "Songify" it, it sounds likes THIS (http://youtu.be/F2ZShmt19uQ).
*And just in case you don't remember the original video, HERE IT IS (http://youtu.be/eaIvk1cSyG8).

Well, if you got them together, then they should have met. If you simply carried discussions back and forth, you're taking too much credit. The soap she was on was the ridiculously horrifying PASSIONS, written by a now-dead insanely mad queen who collected Barbie dolls, as I recall. All I remember of the soap, besides the atrocious acting, was that Charity's bedroom closet was the doorway to hell.
I made it back OK. Now, I have to get read for tomorrow and a return to work.

I used to when I was young & foolish-no more.
Two days of snorkeling at the end of the trip has left me with an inner ear infection. Got to get a hold of the doctor tomorrow to get some meds for that.
Today I went to Shopko to look around and before I got in the store ended up in the garden area and started looking at trees and ended up bringing home a dwarf pear tree and a dwarf cherry tree. It took me forever to figure out where to plant them and to plant them. I really wasn't planning to plant trees any time soon, but am glad I got them. Now I have 2 apple trees and cherry tree and a pear tree.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
Awww is that baby Jose? :)

Well.. We used Kent Kennan's text in college. I didn't really like it.
I have no idea where my Berlioz, Rimsky-Korsakov and Piston texts are right now.
Time for a break; I orchestrated around 50 bars of one of the cut songs from JUBILEE today. There are three of them.Which songs? Details. New Cole Porter. Always must have details.
Welcome back to the Mainland, DR JohnG! Aloha!Thank you and Mahalo!

I sure am glad I was home when my dryer caught on fire.
Answers from Nick Department: We went waaaaay long on the actual IV segment, so I had to limit myself to two questions.
The Bell that Couldn't Ring IS on a CD release--the 1994 extended CD. R&H would not license the song after that for whatever reason.
State Fair--it "sounds" easy to contact Dot, but in reality it's difficult. No one knew who owned it, and if it was Universal they wouldn't have cooperated anyway.
I'll tell you, JMK, that I'll only read yours. But I might tell Laura, Ginny or MBarnum the same thing.
I get to force the family to go out to dinner tonight. I'm thinking Italian.
JMK
How did your interview with Nick Redman go?
Ok, I need to run and see if I can find Midwest Living magazine.
I was thinking of the Bacharach tune The Bell that Couldn't Jingle, sorry. Maybe he misremembered which annivesary disc it was on, but he stated it's definitely on a CD.

Scary & why stories like this are the reason I don't leave m dryer on if I'm not home.

Straight line to a comedian:
Do you have reservations?

DR Cillaliz - Will the fruit be edible? Or are these more the "decorative" type?
She's doing a song from Snoopy called I Know Now - and there's all these fun allusions to things, but one of them none of us get - "you can't rain a violet" Anyone know what that means? It's all things like "you can't milk a cowslip" and stuff like that, but we're all missing the point of you can't rain a violet. Not that it makes any more sense, but isn't there a character named Violet? Does it refer to her?
So, what did everyone have for their Father's Day dinner, or brunch?
Gotcha.I'll tell you, JMK, that I'll only read yours. But I might tell Laura, Ginny or MBarnum the same thing.
You only need to read mine vis a vis Clarence Clemons. ;D

Perhaps you should drive instead.

Do you turn off the hoses leading to your washing machine before you leave the house.

Back from a trip to D.C. and seeing the last performance there of FOLLIESSo, how many times does that make? And is it a better production than in the beginning? Will it be even better come fall?
I'm just gonna say if there were mid-show standing ovations then it was all friends of cast and obsessive Sondheim fanatics - no normal, well-behaved theatergoer stands in the middle of a show and I don't care WHAT show it is. I remember the first time it happened - Hello, Dolly - not the original run, mind you, where the number got sustained rapturous applause and ovation and led to the built-in encore - no, there was no standing there - no, it was the later tours, when Miss Channing's husband would stand up every single performance after that number, after which everyone took his lead. It's absolutely ridiculous and insulting, in my opinion (IMO, in Internet lingo), and it's suddenly all about the audience and certainly not about the actual show they're seeing - and thus ends my rant. Nothing personal directed at FJL, who obviously loved the show enough to see it multiple times and I'm sure will be seeing it multiple times again should it in fact actually open in NY.
Nobody else has mentioned it, so I guess I'm the only who hasn't liked Neil Patrick Harris doing a solo on the line "give another number to me" in "Side by Side." I think it's recognition too early and, well, sort of torpedoes the song. But I'm going to see it Tuesday night, if I can.

bk - If people want to stand, let 'em stand. You can just stay seated - although, you probably wouldn't have been in the theatre anyway. ;)
I thought your sister was vegan, George.
I'm finally finishing my laundry. We have a chance of strong severe thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow, scattered thunderstorms the next day and just rain and storms most of the rest of the week. oh Joy
