Good morning, Happy People!
And the word of the day is: CALVOUS!
Or just charge it more often. I usually charge my Nook every morning. For our trip I have turned the wireless off & am hoping I have enough battery for the wait in the airport & our 8 hour flight.
The Kindle user's guide says that it should take less than three hours to fully charge it and the charge indicator light (at the on/off switch) will turn green when the battery is fully charged. The battery icon at the top right will have a line making it look like it's broken to indicate that the battery isn't fully charged.
The "bars" are indicators of how powerful your wi-fi connection is.
I'm still thinking about THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE, and how much I enjoyed and was moved by the score.
Actually, I'd never even heard of the show before BK offered the CD.
How long did it run? Anybody know?
The host is the guy from CASH CAB....Ben.....and he is okay....he looks a bit uncomfortable standing up, but he does okay.
JR, no, nothing yet, and it's run of the mill stuff, but I didn't want to seem churlish by refusing his offer.
The host is the guy from CASH CAB....Ben.....and he is okay....he looks a bit uncomfortable standing up, but he does okay.
Ben Bailey, the host of Cash Cab and now Still Standing, according to a friend of ours, has a very bad back. That could explain the uncomfortable look. I wonder why he would take a job where he has to stand for a long time if he has a bad back.
*And if one did not want to check out the IBDB.com, the newly unveiled PLAYBILL VAULT (http://www.playbillvault.com/) is a great place to spend to spend a few minutes... Or hours.
bk - It's good to know that the Taylor's will all be on one coast. Let's hope that the Broadway transfer of Once is just as successful as its current off-Broadway run.

I finally managed to dispose of my collection of non-working electrical and electronic items, including broken DVD and BD players. I took them to the recycle depot which is only 2 miles from me. Trouble is, almost everyone is now on holiday and the local roads are chock-a-block. So what should be a few minutes journey ends up an hour or more there and back.
I am outraged that the Playbill Vault only has one of the Farmer-Adler covers for GOLDEN BOY uploaded and will be filing a dispute with PayPal about it.
The sun is shining, the grass is green, the orange and palm trees sway.

Go for it!
Did you get THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE yet?

Where do you live, Doug?
My sister lived in Gerard's Cross for many years.
I ordered PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE yesterday and it still has not arrived, so I must go file a PayPal dispute. The nerve of the post office. And at Christmastime, too.
Day 8: Yesterday was restful and peaceful. I wonder if there is any possibility of BK's darling daughter sharing her Aunt Jean's Cherry Loaf recipe here...Just the mention of that bread made me track down this recipe. Not sure it's the same, but it sounds good to me:
One dream I had was about a bunch of people (me included) trying to get out of some iced in place - very weird. Another was attending a screening of Evening Primrose at the Grauman's Chinese - and seeing the opening shot was filmed on Santa Monica Blvd. That led to seeing footage of that taken from a car and then the car driving up various streets in that neighborhood.
Please deposit $35 in my PayPal account.
Weak humor. I'm here all weak.
DR FJL are there any productions THE LAST STARFIGHTER happening?

George, if the bulk of the audience last night was Jewish, that would probably account for the lack of liquor sales. Most Jews I know (and Betsy and I are among them) are not heavy drinkers.

So, there's going to be a "Bonnie and Clyde" recording. I missed "Wonderland." I think I can miss this one, too.
Jrand - Nothing I'll talk about on a googlable site. :)
People from DataLounge may be among the uninvited Guests.
So, there's going to be a "Bonnie and Clyde" recording. I missed "Wonderland." I think I can miss this one, too.
I'm still thanking whatever powers that be that the announced collaboration between Wildhorn and Sergio Mendes never materialized.
First dance class in months tonight. I hope my body's up to the challenge.
60 degrees on the first day of winter! Crazy!
Since everyone is posting about going to Target ... we are finally getting some Targets here. Sometime in 2012. The only thing is it means all our Zellers are closing.
Good luck at Target DR JOSE. They ARE nice stores.

Thursday morning greetings! I'm up early to get some errands done and to pick up Mary Linda to retrieve her car from the place that did major brake work on it yesterday.
I watched Still Standing or whatever the new game show is called.....it is okay....I like the game.....but they drag it out forever.....it is an hour show....and as far as I know, there is only ONE contestant each show, so you know said contestant isn't going out early....
The host is the guy from CASH CAB....Ben.....and he is okay....he looks a bit uncomfortable standing up, but he does okay.
Talking about "rare" books.
I have a Johnny Carson authored book from the early 60's and was curious to see how much it was selling for on Amazon. I was shock! Tell you I was shocked. A used cop was going for
You're not going to believe this.
I didn't.
1 cent! (American)

That's just shocking! :o
Talking about rare items in general, I bought the "For Your Consideration - Best Original Score" CD to "Monsters, Inc." by Randy Newman from our very own BK. It has many more tracks than what's on the officially released soundtrack. I would search eBay and Amazon every once in a while to see what it might be going for and for a long time I saw only one copy for $199.99...much, Much, MUCH (that's three muches) more than what I paid for BK's copy. Well, just a couple of weeks ago, my sister told me that she LOVES "Monsters, Inc." It's her favorite Pixar movie. So, I decided to give her my "For Your Consideration" CD for Christmas. I happened to search eBay again and saw that the $199.99 copy was still available (no surprise there) BUT someone else was selling the same CD, and it's SEALED!, with a starting bid of only $9.99! There were no bids yet! I bid and I just won it for only $9.99 (plus $3 shipping)! So, I can give my sister a copy and still have a copy for myself.
Take that, seller-who's-selling-it-for-$199.99! ;D

Check it against yours - it shouldn't be sealed - I don't think any of those Monsters promos were sealed.

I am now doing laundry. There's a note from the manager on the laundry room door: "HOLIDAY LAUNDRY HOURS: no laundry before 9 am on Christmas Day or New Year's Day." Does anyone do laundry before 9 am? Not I. Somehow I never thought that laundry needed a holiday schedule. Maybe it's just me.
Then, since I needed to get my hairs cut, and found some raves for a place called "Refuge". It was just a half mile from Stella's, so I took a chance. And I'm glad I did!
I walked in just as Dot was finishing up another customer. As soon as he exited the chair, she said, "Step right up!" And then for the next 25 minutes, Dot took great care of me and of my hair. The Yelp reviews raved about Dot, and those raves were spot on. Very friendly, knowledgeable, just chatty enough, and she really took her time without ever feeling that she was going too fast nor too slow. And since I was getting my usual clipper cut - 1 on the sides, 3 on the top - she went ahead and rinsed, shampooed, rinses, conditioned, rinsed and hot-toweled me after she was doing cutting my hairs. And all of that was included in the price of the cut! Which was just $20!
Since everyone is posting about going to Target ... we are finally getting some Targets here. Sometime in 2012. The only thing is it means all our Zellers are closing.
DR Jennifer - Is it possible that some of the Zellers will become Targets? Target usually builds their stores from the ground up, but sometimes they do retrofit existing buildings.
It's turned mild here. Looks like no chance of snow this Christmas - unlike last year.

But the $9.99 copy doesn't include the nude photos.

Does Mary Linda always go by her full name, or do people shorten to ML, or something like that?
Turned out to be bolero. And my body will be sore tomorrow.First dance class in months tonight. I hope my body's up to the challenge.
What type of dancing?
I just received an e-Christmas card from Atlantis Gay Cruise Line. I have never traveled with them.Sounds like a cruise line that wouldn't stay afloat.
I just finished watching THE DEBT, which I definitely recommend.

Just finished watching Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, about which much, much more later.

Check out SARAH'S KEY as well.
Well, it's the end of the library's fiscal year. I've just finished paying the last of the bills for this month (and year) and unless I did something horribly wrong, I got it down to within 6¢ of our entire budget amount for the year! :DWow. Will you do my budget for me? I need that kind of fiduciary wizardry.
All that's left is for me to do evaluations...all by myself. But not now. I'm going home.
Until later!
I have a butterfly. Photos tomorrow. Maybe.
I sitll nee dto buy presents wraap them buy food and clean the hosue annd I have afull day of work tomorrow
The CBS ad for the Kennedy Center honors show Neil Diamond, Meryl Streep, and then seem to show the three other honorees as if they're "and the rest" by showing Barbara Cook, Yo-Yo Ma, Sonny Rollins all at the same time.
well, guess they have a TV show to sell.
