Hello, everyone.

Back from a nice lunch with Mr BK himself. The restaurant changed the menu, but we were both able to find dishes that pleased us. I am feeling quite stuffed.

I got to see the esteemed new merino wool jacket, too. Quite nice. Like he said, like a pea coat--sorta. Very nice.

I am now doing laundry. There's a note from the manager on the laundry room door: "HOLIDAY LAUNDRY HOURS: no laundry before 9 am on Christmas Day or New Year's Day." Does anyone do laundry before 9 am? Not I. Somehow I never thought that laundry needed a holiday schedule. Maybe it's just me.

It's about 60 degrees here in LA, Kevin. But perhaps that's to be expected.

Good Afternoon!

So...

I made my way to Target without too much muss or fuss. Thankfully, I remembered to take the "non-mall" way, so it only took me three minutes to there instead of ten.

Of course, as I got out of the car, I realized that I had left my wallet at my parents' house. Spoo!

So...

Once I re-got to Target with my wallet in pocket, I headed straight to the Toys sections - sorta - and found the last things on The List. HOO and RAY!

*Of course, I did end up browsing the $1 bins at the front, and picked up some Christmas favors and candies and chocolates.

After Target, I headed back to Stella's for lunch. Alas, since it was the end of the lunch shift, they were already out of a couple of items. However, I had a very nice Lamb Burger with Feta and Tzatziki and a cup of Lentil Soup. And I got a nice glimpse of Stella again doing her magic back in the kitchen.

Then, since I needed to get my hairs cut, and found some raves for a place called "Refuge". It was just a half mile from Stella's, so I took a chance. And I'm glad I did!

I walked in just as Dot was finishing up another customer. As soon as he exited the chair, she said, "Step right up!" And then for the next 25 minutes, Dot took great care of me and of my hair. The Yelp reviews raved about Dot, and those raves were spot on. Very friendly, knowledgeable, just chatty enough, and she really took her time without ever feeling that she was going too fast nor too slow. And since I was getting my usual clipper cut - 1 on the sides, 3 on the top - she went ahead and rinsed, shampooed, rinses, conditioned, rinsed and hot-toweled me after she was doing cutting my hairs. And all of that was included in the price of the cut! Which was just $20!

She also furnished the waiting area with a foosball table, a TV, a PS2 console, and an old school Atari system! I'll definitely be back for a touch up before I head back up NYC!

Right now, I'm camping out in a very roomy Starbucks in The Fan with a French Press pot and an apple fritter. :)

Since everyone is posting about going to Target ... we are finally getting some Targets here. Sometime in 2012. The only thing is it means all our Zellers are closing.

DR Jennifer - Is it possible that some of the Zellers will become Targets? Target usually builds their stores from the ground up, but sometimes they do retrofit existing buildings.

Good luck at Target DR JOSE.  They ARE nice stores.

Thank You, DR JRand. And I believe your "luck" worked!

*And the Target by my parents' house is a nice one. It's also one of their larger locations. I got some good exercise just getting from the front door back to the toy section. However, they do have plenty of cash registers, and once I had everything in my shopping basket, I was out of the store in under five minutes. :)

So, there's going to be a "Bonnie and Clyde" recording. I missed "Wonderland." I think I can miss this one, too.

I'm still thanking whatever powers that be that the announced collaboration between Wildhorn and Sergio Mendes never materialized.

Well... I've heard the demos...

And as the clock strikes six - well, as the little clock on my iPad tells me it is now 6:00pm EST - I am going to pack up my things here, and head to the theatre. I found the stash of classical music books at my parents's house, and I pulled some Mozart to warm up with tonight.

Laters...

It's turned mild here. Looks like no chance of snow this Christmas - unlike last year.

I am back from a good 2-hour meeting on "Christmas Up The Holler." In case anyone wants to become a producer, we're looking for investors. Reasonable rates. Let me know.

Now it's time for some soup.

Thursday morning greetings!  I'm up early to get some errands done and to pick up Mary Linda to retrieve her car from the place that did major brake work on it yesterday.

Does Mary Linda always go by her full name, or do people shorten to ML, or something like that?

I watched Still Standing or whatever the new game show is called.....it is okay....I like the game.....but they drag it out forever.....it is an hour show....and as far as I know, there is only ONE contestant each show, so you know said contestant isn't going out early....

The host is the guy from CASH CAB....Ben.....and he is okay....he looks a bit uncomfortable standing up, but he does okay.

Thank you, Jrand!  I switched on that program for its final ten minutes, and I could not for the life of me figure out where I knew the host.

Talking about "rare" books.

I have a Johnny Carson authored book from the early 60's and was curious to see how much it was selling for on Amazon. I was shock! Tell you I was shocked. A used cop was going for

You're not going to believe this.

I didn't.

1 cent! (American)

That's just shocking! :o

Talking about rare items in general, I bought the "For Your Consideration - Best Original Score" CD to "Monsters, Inc." by Randy Newman from our very own BK.  It has many more tracks than what's on the officially released soundtrack.  I would search eBay and Amazon every once in a while to see what it might be going for and for a long time I saw only one copy for $199.99...much, Much, MUCH (that's three muches) more than what I paid for BK's copy.  Well, just a couple of weeks ago, my sister told me that she LOVES "Monsters, Inc."  It's her favorite Pixar movie.  So, I decided to give her my "For Your Consideration" CD for Christmas.  I happened to search eBay again and saw that the $199.99 copy was still available (no surprise there) BUT someone else was selling the same CD, and it's SEALED!, with a starting bid of only $9.99!  There were no bids yet!  I bid and I just won it for only $9.99 (plus $3 shipping)!  So, I can give my sister a copy and still have a copy for myself.

Take that, seller-who's-selling-it-for-$199.99! ;D

bk - It's good to know that the Taylor's will all be on one coast. Let's hope that the Broadway transfer of Once is just as successful as its current off-Broadway run.

I thought Alet was in L.A.

Thanks for all the vibes.

It is amazing what an ambient and 2 vicodins can do.

I woke up with no pain.

I was in such pain last night.

Check it against yours - it shouldn't be sealed - I don't think any of those Monsters promos were sealed.

Well, the vacation didn't start today, that much I can tell you.  I did have a very nice luncheon with dear reader Jeanne.  The helper came by in the morning to deal with more invoices (People In The Picture has, over the last five days, sold close to two hundred copies - I was shocked to find out we only have about two hundred left before having to repress).  No time to jog, of course, and after lunch I had to go directly to the bank, then to the AT&T store to have them affix a protection shield on my iPhone - pretty nifty and then your screen doesn't get dirty ever, and whilst there I got my Apple Care extended warranty, which I thought I had to get at the Apple store.  Then I picked up a couple of packages, then came home briefly, then decided to get the Gelson's run out of the way.  I got everything needed for the Do, some nice flowers to make the home environment nice and cozy, and now, finally, I think tomorrow is completely a ME day.  The ONLY thing I may do is go to the DGA to see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo at five-thirty.

For those who are MAC gurus.

I have a question.

As I mentioned the other day my Itunes has been lost due to a damaged section on my hardrive.

I am able to access my music from the FRONT ROW application, but not ITunes.

Are the files attached to FRONT ROW stored on another part of the hard drive? (I still can't access my individual music files from the hard drive)

Day 8:  Yesterday was restful and peaceful.  I wonder if there is any possibility of BK's darling daughter sharing her Aunt Jean's Cherry Loaf recipe here...
Just the mention of that bread made me track down this recipe. Not sure it's the same, but it sounds good to me:

http://www.savorsa.com/2011/12/maraschino-cherry-bread/

John G., that sounds wonderful, but how am I going to find someone to bake it for me?
