Now, I'm beginning to think some dear readers aren't reading all the posts or the notes, because only about six people have sent their addresses to receive a special haineshisway.com gift. Now, if that's all that want said gift, fine. But I won't have any bellyaching when people read about what it is and then suddenly decide to send their addresses. Send them NOW or forever hold either your peace or your piece.

Headline on Google says: Romney Takes Iowa by Slim Margin.
Wasn't Slim Margin a Henry Willson client back in the late 1950's?

Can you specify which day's notes and which posts? I try to read everything and did not see anything mentioned. :(

He's mentioned it twice (not including today) that I can think of.

Slim and Crunch Crackers were sold out to CONFIDENTIAL.
My question for ASK BK Day:
Is there one classic actor or actress that makes you avoid movies.....even if you like the others in the film.....your antipathy toward said actor/actress keeps you away from any film featuring him/her?
The notes made me think of this question......because while there are a few for me.....past and present......Mr Burgess Meredith is on my list!
Finished the lovely Fleming CAPRICCIO but can't upload my review due to a site glitch. So am now working on choral arrangements. No rest for the weary and/or wicked.
Good morning, all! The weather has finally dropped asnd it's beginning to look like Christmas. Much as I am enjoying the cold weather, I wish to go out into it not in the least. That said, I must needs make a trek to Toyland this morning and check on the office. That's my only errand of the day.
When I return, I will continue playing with unlauts and other diacritical marks, and ponder my notes on 102 songs written by Victor Herbert between 1888 and 1924. Life is too tnrilling.
After witnessing BELLE STARR last night, I might avoid the films of Miss Gene Tierney for a while.

There are many actors of today who can keep me away from films, but I can't think of many who could keep me away from an older film.
The Number Seven Arrives at Whim sounds like an Agatha Christie novel.

Well... I guess Fleming's Capriccio would weary anyone. ;)
Tilda Swinton as Auntie Mame? The idea has possibilities.

Really? I thought it was a wonderful production.

That was NOT Miss Gene's finest hour to be sure......but the color was pretty.

How about Max Von Sydow as Auntie Mame?Tilda Swinton as Auntie Mame? The idea has possibilities.

So does Max Von Sydow as Prof. Harold Hill.
I think the thing I have always hated about the movie versions I have seen is that they're much too different from the original book. Read Dennis' book and Mame is young and vital and sexual in the beginning. Roz Russell and Lucille Ball are both ancient, asexual creatures, more like drag queens than real women. Lansbury on Broadway (the first time) was much better; Lansbury the second time was not.Tilda Swinton as Auntie Mame? The idea has possibilities.

Sometimes all you need to do is leave the computer and the modem OFF for more than three minutes in order to fully reset the connection.
::)
Because I had not been out of the house since we got home from Lima on Sunday, I went out today to do some errands. Went to 2 branches of the library system from which I retired, the blood lab to make sure my order was there for a fasting test (it is), and to the grocery store. Kroger was a zoo, which makes me wonder if we have a snowstorm on the way...For your sake, I hope not. My one winter in Middletown was soooo cold. Brutal.
Thanks, DR John G. I'm more inclined to think it was the confluence of Social Security and welfare payments...A different kind of maelstrom.
Well, a couple of new drugs for Rex. But no progress.Bummer. Hope he gets better soon.
Mario Lanza was easy on the eyes and the ears.
Yes, mentioned twice in posts and once in the notes. And yes, you must send the addresses to the kritzerland e-mail address - a couple of folks have sent them here but that does me no good. Please send again to the kritzerland at gmail dot com address.
