Well, you've read the notes, the notes were judgmental, and now it is time for you to post until the judgmental cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: OUTRANCE!
-
And episode six, the last of season one, is now up and running on the You Tube. Check it out and if you like it, please share it on your Facebook pages, tweet it, "like" it, leave a nice comment, and spread the word: http://youtu.be/qDh-26a4bSE

I have been up since 4:30 - woke up feeling cold ----oh yeah - the furnace is out again
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
It's cold in Manhattan also.
No work today.
I need some breakfast.
-
Good morning, all.

I have been up since 4:30 - woke up feeling cold ----oh yeah - the furnace is out again
Not good when it's cold. Hope it's working soon.

TOD: I like the think-cut brasserie-style fries that are really crunchy on the outside and soft at the center best, though Greek-style fries, a little meatier, are good. And, well, fries with truffle salt are irresistible. As long as they're not soggy, all fries are great.
As for onion rings, there's a place in town, Big Bob's Burgers, that adds a little caraway seed to the beer batter. The rings are thick cut and they're fried to a crunchy, deep brown, so they crackle when you bite into them. (They also know how to peel an onion, so you're not biting into something stringy that pulls out of the coating.)

Different, but still fun.

TOD:
The most memorable French Fries I've ever tasted was back in the 1980s in Bird in the Hand, Pennsylvania. Amish Country.
My son and I were on a tour, "The Historic East," and the bus stopped at this tourist place for lunch.
Their French fries were amazing. The best I ever tasted.
When I got home to Calabasas, I wrote the place and asked for the recipe, but they wrote me back and said it was a well-kept secret.

SARAH GOLDEN HAIR, my Western screenplay, seems to be selling well on Amazon.

Good morning! Loved the new Outside the Box episode!
-
Can YOU dig it?
Stefan Fendel strikes again! LOL
-
Today I get to do my Monday shopping on Monday!! For the first time in three weeks!
And Zumba tonight!
Nice clear weather so far......today.
-
I shall return.
Oh.....
-
I watched the first five minutes of the GGA last night and turned it off when what's his name started on Justin Bieber......then switched back for a few minutes at 10 o'clock to see Jean DuJardin and Meryl Streep win....then turned it off again. :P
I am thinking about borrowing Tllda Swinton's rug.....going for the natural look. What do YOU think? ;D
-
Hmmm...I'm beginning to suspect that Stephen Findle's voice is auto tuned.

It's YOU, DR JRand! And the Ziggy Stardust look is coming back big time, so I hear...
-
Did a good amount of throwing out stuff yesterday. Very rewarding to have a slightly less messy space to be on the net.
-
I stuck with the GGAs until 9:00, when I swiftly switched the dial over to PBS and took in this week's DOWNTON ABBEY.
*IF* I can find one fault with this show (and I do say *IF*), it may be that its accelerated story is maybe a little too accelerated and it prompts itself to "jump the shark" a few too many times. But I guess that's the state of television drama these days, a far cry from the leisurely pace of UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS (which itself might have been a little too slow-going, especially that unbearable third season.)
-
Good morning, all! I slept late. Deliberately. The DEAREST ENEMY crisis continues in that I have been unsuccessful so far in findinging smeone to take over the repairs should the project fall apart this week. I've sent a few inquiries this morning to Finale folk I know, asking what their schedules are like and if they might like some work.
Today, I've got DEAREST ENEMY scores for Act Two to look over, and I may need to help Joshie with more proofreading. He knows I am unavailable tomorrow and we have to finish this week.
Now I'll check out the new episode of OUTSIDE THE BOX. First, more coffee.
-
I did very little this weekend but lounge about the house and do some ketchup reading of magazines and some internet articles. I briefly flirted with the idea of straightening up my linen closet but decided against it.
-
Not good to read about french fries (which i love) when i'm hungry!
-
I always loved the onion rings at Astro Burger on Melrose and Gower and the onion ring tower at Birds on Franklin and Bronson. I always ordered my fries "very dark" so they are quaranteed crisp. Lots of restaurants will accommodate this request.
-
"Make my day." I laughed.
A lot.
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm about to start playing my first audition panel of the day.
-
Even though our very own bk will not be in town this coming weekend, should WE try to set up an HHW Get Together on Saturday "between shows"? DR Ben? DR elmore? DR FJL? DR KevinH? ;) -And the previously mentioned DR vixmom, of course.
-
OK.
Here I go again.
Laters...

Cute new episode!
-
Page 2 cute episode dance!
-
Monday morning greetings! I slept about 11 hours last night and I'm not setting the world on fire this morning.
-
Enjoyed the new episode. Posted on Facebook.
-
Shopping done. Not many bargains done.....but I bought the makings of chicken alfredo....which shall soon be made. Even though Zumba Looms.
-
I have enjoyed French Fried and Onion Rings - but not enough to make one establishment stand out. Although the Arby's curly fries are nice.
-
Thanks DR DtM - I shall place my order for a Tilda Swinton Hair Spectacular.
-
Almost 40 degrees here.....hurray.
-
Congrats to DR DRUXY on his Amazon sales!!!!
-
Yes, Tilda looked quite bizarre last night. OTOH, several older women looked faboo, including Jane Fonda and especially Michelle Pfeiffer, who doesn't seem to have had even an ounce of work done, and is much better for it.

For those who care, the proper spelling of the artistic director of Outside the Box is Stephen Findle.
-
I knew that. Didn't *you* know that, DR JRand?
-
For those who care, the proper spelling of the artistic director of Outside the Box is Stephen Findle.
Oh I guess I thought he was more "artistic" he may have been born Stephen Findle.....but in his mind, I think he is Stefan Findel.
-
I knew that. Didn't *you* know that, DR JRand?
NOW I do.
-
Still having major internet problems. I phoned my ISP asking what's happened to the new router I ordered a week ago and it seems to have got lost in the system so they are creating a new order. I was not happy! At least they gave me a refund due to the inconvenience. In the meantime I bought a dongle as backup for use on my laptop.
-
I've been having a spot of back trouble the last few days and this morning I bent over to pull out an electrical connection, which caused my back to get even worse. At first I could hardly walk about but it's improved a lot now.
-
Despite the back trouble I managed to meet up with friends for lunch. Actually it was more like a breakfast - egg, bacon, sausage and chips which was totally delicious.
-
And it's freezing cold here today.

DR DOUG R - the rest of the day HAS to be better!
-
And the word of the day is: OUTRANCE!
And The Somg Of The Day Is: TILL THE END OF TIME
-
I was waiting for Betsy in the car and "Wishin' and Hopin'" came on XM. Good heavens, between that and "Wives and Lovers," I'm surprised Hal David wasn't attacked by Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan.
-
I think they are just lulling him into a false sense of security DR JMK.
-
It was a dreary day for birding today. We gave it up pretty quickly. I'll wait to watch Outside the Box when I'm at the computer with better speakers.
-
Good Afternoon!
And now... A couple of one-on-ones with the agents... And then a party!
-
You show business people sure party a lot!
-
Page three!
-
It's still Monday.
-
And my computer is not doing my work for me.

Yes, it is.

And a Holiday Monday at that.
-

It's all about the parties.
-
I just finished a delicious pastrami and corned beef sandwich from Jason's Deli.
It's not a NY-style deli, but they do serve the best corned beef and pastrami I've yet to find in Austin.
The one thing I miss most about Los Angeles is Canter's.
-
And a Holiday Monday at that.
A holiday Monday in which I'm working. So, not that much of a holiday.
-
I have been up since 4:30 - woke up feeling cold ----oh yeah - the furnace is out again
Me too! Oh, I thought you wrote "feeling old."

I am sorry that you missed Debra Messing.

DR TCB you could have talked all day and not said that!
-
DR TCB, et al - there are a LOT of interesting Titanic books coming out in the next couple of months...... If you haven't checked on Amazon.com lately for titles - you may be pleased/surprised/appalled.....or ALL three.
-
Any new books comparing Titanic to this dreadful mishap in Italy? I read one passenger compare what happened to that. Sounds like the captain was on a mind-altering substance or two.
-
Yes, Tilda looked quite bizarre last night. OTOH, several older women looked faboo, including Jane Fonda and especially Michelle Pfeiffer, who doesn't seem to have had even an ounce of work done, and is much better for it.
About half-way thru, Tlda looked half swacked. Too much champagne or ............

Seems more like a Poseidon-like incident to me.......so scary and tragic.

Whoops! Snow clouds are moving back in to Tacoma.

Thanks for the head's up Jrand. I had better go exploring the Amazon. Most likely I will be appalled.
-

The news media seems to keep comparing it to the Titanic. I have no idea why. Perhaps because memberrs of the crew stated, "Women and children first." Oh, and both events happened on the water.
-
Some of them look interesting.....but most.....well.....yes......appalled is a good way to describe MY reaction.
-
Gilded Lives, Fatal Voyage is the one I am most intrigued with right now.

It certainly mirrors, more closely, the Andrea Doria than anything to do with the Titanic.
The Andrea Doria.

From what I understand, the captain was one of the first to leave the ship. That was real chivalrous. Oh, well, there will probably be an opera version in a few years. I'll wait for that.
-
A great many crew members left the Andrea Doria, before the passengers. I believe the first lifeboat to reach the Stockholm was almost completely crew members. Also the ship listed so quickly that half of the lifeboats were not able to launch.
But then again, "Here's to The Ladies Who Launch."
-
Yes......I forgot to mention when you posted that I have read the Andrea Doria book you got DR TCB.....most interesting.
I also read a book about a lake ship that capsized at the dock on the morning of a company picnic.....can't find the book right now, but it was also very good.
I read several books last year about ship disasters....for some reason.
-
Off to Zumba.
-

A regular feeding frenzy.
-
Gilded Lives, Fatal Voyage is the one I am most intrigued with right now.
I am looking forward to ON A SEA OF GLASS: The Life and Loss of the RMS Titanic, but it isn't going to be released until June. And the advanced price is still $50.
-
Are we close?

Ah yes, I remember reading that book, also.
-
Finessed, Xeroxed and delivered pages, ate, pulled sheet music and shall now write.
-
Not much more snow due until this evening. I thought that was supposed to be the end of it. But now they are saying an additional 4 to 8 inches on Wedneday.
-
Uptown Downstairs Abbey Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dr2mPChkTK8)
Thanks DR Dan(theMan)! Both parts were hilarious--I thought Kim Cattrall did a great impersonation of Elizabeth McGovern!

I don't have any plans to go to NYC this weekend, DR Jose, but thnks for thinking of me!
-
I did some shopping today and met a former co-worker at Pizzeria Uno (actually I think they dropped the "Pizzeria.")
-
Rex got a really good report at the vet today. And he felt good enough to put up a bit of a fight with them.
-

That is good news.
Nicky is mad at me. He decided to lie (lay, lie liar) down behind my wheelchair, and figured I should be able to know he was there. Wrong!
-

that's great news. I needed some good kitty news today. My friend Bonnie had to put down her 21-year-old cat, Bob, who was the best cat, this afternoon. He was very much like the sphinx and I will miss him.

Glad to hear Rex is doing better
-
John G I am sorry to hear about the demise of the Sphinx
-
So at 5 in the morning I called the plumber who came and fixed the furnace when it broke down last year
I assumed I would get the answering machine/service
-
I woke up his wife
-
I apologized profusely and offer to callback later but she told me no, no problem and handed the phone over to hubby the plumber
-
he was also very sleepy but pleasant and sad of course it was no problem he is a 24 hour emergency service and asked if 7 AM would be oK for him to show up
-
since it was a holiday I had feared that he woudl say 'tomorrow" so I was delighted and thanked him -
-
he was here by 6:30 and fixed the problem by 8
-
$300 less rich but considerably warmer and quite grateful
-
the temperature outside at 4:30 was a brisk 7 degrees F
inside it was about 52 - but is sure felt a lot colder

(I would have loved to see his face!)

Well time to heat up some potato soup and make some grilled cheese

It has been snowing on and off all day here.
-
Rex got a really good report at the vet today. And he felt good enough to put up a bit of a fight with them.
Go Rex!!!!!
-
It's cold here again now. And tonight late we'll get a whopping inch of snow....which will melt by the weekend
-
So sorry to hear about your friend's cat, John G.
-
FEEL BETTER BACK VIBES FOR DR DOUG!!!!
-
Page five.
-
Possibly eight to ten inches of snow by the end of Wednesday!! It keeps sounding worse and worse. Remember, the Pacific Northwet does not have a lot os snow removal equipment.

Because the furnace repairman is busy in the kitchen fixing the leaky faucet. I mean, really, do you need a flowchart? ;)

The captain of the Titanic went down with the ship-this one, if the reports are true, got off as quickly as possible.

Today I signed up for a bus trip to Omaha on April 12 to go to an historic mansion where we will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's voyage and eat the same menu as the first class on the Titanic on the last night. Then we go to a museum and see one of the traveling costume shows..costumes from movies. Then do a little shopping and come back. It's only about 90 minutes away. I thought it would be a fun way to commemorate the Titanic
-
DR John G, vibes of comfort to your friend Bonnie!
-
Ricky just knocked over a BIG glass of water. It was full and went everywhere. Sometimes I forget that I can not leave a glass of anything anywhere. Luckily this time it didn't hit any electronics. I have to leave my night time glass of water in the sink in the bathroom.

Last night of freedom before the next semester begins. To celebrate, I grilled a grass-fed steak, made coleslaw and sauteed mushrooms. Poured a young, fun Bordeaux and will treat myself to the latest chapter of "Downton Abbey."

Matthew Ashford makes a good Clint Eastwood. :)

As I am a member Cruise Critic sent an email with comments from survivors of the Costa Concordia, beginning with emails they received from a member.

I would still take a cruise again.

And episode six, the last of season one, is now up and running on the You Tube. Check it out and if you like it, please share it on your Facebook pages, tweet it, "like" it, leave a nice comment, and spread the word: http://youtu.be/qDh-26a4bSE
Great new "Outside the Box" episode, BK!

This sounds like fun:
Oscar-winning Hollywood legend Liza Minnelli has signed up to appear at a major charity gala in London on 29 April 2012 to celebrate the work of legendary songwriters Kander & Ebb. The all-star gala at the Victoria Palace Theatre is being produced by veteran promoter and producer Barry Mishon in collaboration with John Kander, and will be in aid of the Ovarian Cancer Action charity.
Also appearing at the gala are Tony award winning Chicago choreographer Ann Reinking, Chita Rivera, Marvin Hamlisch, Janie Dee, Maria Friedman and Billy Stritch.Minnelli is rumoured to have agreed to perform a duet with Chita Rivera at the event.

So, I watched the Betty White 90th birthday tribute. Who writes this stuff?
-
But it did make me want to see HOT IN CLEVELAND. And PASSWORD - I loved that show!
-
I have enjoyed French Fried and Onion Rings - but not enough to make one establishment stand out. Although the Arby's curly fries are nice.
Ditto and Ditto.
I've had some good fries, but nothing really great...but I've also had some not so great fries and some pretty bad fries, too. :P Fortunately, it's rare that I've had any really bad fries.
-
'night
-
French fries and onion rings tend to go straight to my liver these days.
-
Ricky just knocked over a BIG glass of water. It was full and went everywhere. Sometimes I forget that I can not leave a glass of anything anywhere. Luckily this time it didn't hit any electronics. I have to leave my night time glass of water in the sink in the bathroom.
What about bottled water? At least if it's tipped over, it won't spill.
-

our house is heating by water fed radiators so for our kind of furnace you need a plumbing/heating guy

Hmm. I wonder if that was a vixmom imposter with the vixter at BK's book signing? :)
Oh my goodness I ma so sorry Kevin of course I forgot about that night - I am so embarrased!
-
Finished a Maigret and will take a nice long hot shower soon - and maybe write another page or two.
-
I'm so glad "Downton" is on pbs.org.

Oh, I do that sometimes, but you can't drink everything out of a bottle all the time. He does it any time there is an unattended glass. It's a real pain

Today has been a day of doing nothing but watching TV and DVD burning, and that's about it. There was supposed to be a TAO (who's putting on "A Bucket of Blood" next month) board meeting, but I got a Facebook message that it was cancelled. I don't know when it'll be rescheduled. I'll probably find out tomorrow night at rehearsal...unless that's cancelled.

Tomorrow, I have to (try to) get to work early in spite of the snow and freezing (I only live a mile away from my work and it's totally flat). So, I'm going to bed now. I'll check my e-mail to see if the building's closed or not. If it is, I'll probably have to call my staff (I'm still not really used to saying "MY staff") and tell them not to come in, if they haven't left yet. We'll see.

Good night, all!
