Post by: George on February 05, 2012, 01:01:37 AM: When I came home after the concert last night, I checked my mail and I received my Kickstarter "reward" for pledging to support a new production of "Man With a Load of Mischief (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mischief/man-with-a-load-of-mischief-lets-bring-it-back?ref=live)"! Even though the Kickstarter event is over, they're still taking donations WITH the stated "rewards"! I pledged (and paid) $50, so I got and autographed remastered CD of the original album! It's never been officially released on CD, so this is the only way to get it. I also got an autographed copy of the script and an autographed Certificate of Appreciation. All three were autographed by the composer, John Clifton. :D

My sister had some not too long ago and said that they were delish. My mom is also going to get some cheese sauce for dipping. I'm sure that we'll play Scrabble at some point during all of the eating and dipping. :D

I slept very well, but I had a scare when I got out of bed this morning: there was blood all over my leg, and my first reaction was BED BUGS! NOT AGAIN!! After some panic, I realized I was still bleeding which put me into another scare: HEMORRHAGE! After a panic of sorts between 6:30 and 7am, while I debated dressing and taking a taxi to St Luke-Roosevelt Hospital, I determined that a blood blister I was unaware of must have exploded. Thank God I had gauze and adhesive tape. All now seems to be good, although I am moving cautiously.

DR George, I got my copy of MAN WITH A LOAD OF MISCHIEF as well yesterday. I really love this show. I had see Alice Cannon, who plays the Maid, as Luisa in the very first production of THE FANTASTICKS I ever saw and as Polly in THREEPENNY OPERA at the Playhouse in the Park. When I moved to New York, I saw her in a fantastic production of THE CAT AND THE CANARY directed by Roderick Cook. I remember talking to John Clifton during my Drama Book Shop days; he was a very nice man.

DR Iris, your explanation for Bravo's showing a whole evening of THE PATRIOT may be correct, but this is the second night in the past few weeks they've pulled this crap. Once every six months might be a grievous error, but two showings a night is an insult to humanity.

So, unless I bleed to death today, my plans are work on the Disc 4 notes and making a trip to midtown to pick up a score at the stage door of ANYTHING GOES. I think on the way back, I will stop at the Metropolitan Opera shop and buy a couple of the Teresa Stratas DVDs now being released singly from the large James Levine 16-disc set last year.

We went to a friend's last night and ending up going to a pizza joint near his apartment (on East 50th Street). We had very good pizza and we heard some of his memories of being in the original company of Merrily. I'm seeing the show on Wednesday. Anthony will be in tap class and I'll be merrily rolling along to City Center.

The Committee & especially the volunteers have done a great job. There were 350,000 in town Friday night and Saturday night, and there was only ONE arrest.....a domestic - I'm thinking the wife wanted to go home and the husband wanted to stay and have his picture taken -

It will cost $100 - $200 to park in a garage a few blocks from the Stadium - please pay in advance.

As long as it sets properly (which i hope it does).

As DR George pointed out there is not much peanut butter (only 1/4 of a cup). I was thinking about adding more. But then decided that not everyone loves things that are super peanutbuttery.

So as long as a person is not allergic to peanuts i think everyone (even if they don't love peanut butter) should like this dessert.

Luckily we get the commercials.

But (and i think this is crazy). Most people in Canada cannot get the Super Bowl commercials. Because if a Canadian channel is showing the same show at the same time then the feed switches to the Canadian channel and commercials. So if i am watching NBC, but CTV (Canadian channel) is showing the same show (in this instance the Super Bowl). Then when i turn to NBC i get the CTV feed. This is super annoying. Most of the time it doesn't matter since i fast forward thru the commercials anyhow. But i find it appalling on Super Bowl day.

My sister has a satelite. So it doesn't affect her tv viewing.

I'm very interested in The Merry Wives of Gotham, which was published by Samuel French. I'm going to see if I can get a copy out of them and see how it reads. It might be a good thing to offer the Irish Rep for production. Charlotte Moore, the producer, would love to do something with Victor Herbert.

I think I will take a break and run to midtown and my errands.

Thank you. Lying on his back is one of Sherlock's favorite positions when he is on the bed. It was cute when he was a puppy, now he takes up most of the king size bed when he stretches out.

The best thing about it is the 2 hour documentary "The Film That Changed Hollywood" about the making of the film, which was also on the DVD. A riveting warts and all look at the problems of the film.

The only thing I could not accomplish was the purchase of two tickets for ONCE for me and Charlotte, since the box office is closed today! I picked up the package at the ANYTHING GOES stage door, walked to the ONCE box office,headed up to the Met and bought the two DVDs I wanted plus the DVD of John Corigliano's opera THE GHOSTS OF VERSAILLE, all starring the phenomenal Teresa Stratas.

No more bleeding, so I guess all is good. I did stop at the pharmacy and purchase more gauze pads. In case.

Surprising the pasta salad is really good.

I used olive oil, balsamic vinegar, dijon mustard and mayo. And i mixed that with some stuff i put in my food processor (a red pepper, an onion and some garlic). There is also feta, cherry tomaties, bow tie pasta and dill. I can't believe how yummy it is!

I don't know what time the segment will air but it will be on. You can listen live (it's a 2 hour program now beginning at 4pm EST) or use the iPlayer tomorrow through next Sunday. I'll send out the e-mail after the broadcast with info about how and where, etc.

On the way into town we stopped at the torn-up Kroger for Richard to pick up a prescription. It's even more of a mess than it was on Monday and it was super (Bowl) busy! Just picked up a few things and got out of there as fast as we could.

The show is new and it's a replacement for Showtime which used to be on Saturday afternoon at 5pm (EST) 10PM Wales Time. She plays a broader mix of music now from classical to show tunes. Some things have changed regarding how I get my reviews to her so there is a much better chance that I will appear on the show with more frequency. It had been very spotty for quite a while but now I'll be notified when I have a segment coming up so I can listen and notify interested friends. I'm even supposed to have my own jingle to introduce the segment. Don't know if that will happen with today's broadcast. I'm excited!!!

My spot will be a quick overview of what's left in the upcoming Broadway musical season. It will be about 2 minutes long.

The first play I did in college was Bertolt Brecht's GALILEO. As a freshman, I played one of the pillar cariers in the show, only because there were no spear carriers roles in our production. My drama professor (and the director of that prodcution) is a Facebook friend of mine; as is his wife, who was my college girlfriend.

I'm glad I decided to stop to pick up a little chocolate cake I like. Our favorite waiter came up to say hello to Sherlock & tell us he is moving to Portland next month. It varies from case to case. It is up to the judge on where the visits are held. I would assume that since Josh has never been accused of any type of abuse against the children, that probably had something to do with the decision.

I had to pick up the cheese sauce, some chips, salsa and a couple of other things. Of the purchased foodstuffs, only the cheese sauce was consumed. :-\ The rest will be saved for some other occasion.

I watched a show while streaming and it looked great...for the most part. It would go black for about a second every once in a while (it wasn't consistent), but I'm hoping that that's an issue with that individual program and not a problem with this router. Hey, Kevin, glad to hear you're listening! The show is new and it's a replacement for Showtime which used to be on Saturday afternoon at 5pm (EST) 10PM Wales Time. She plays a broader mix of music now from classical to show tunes. Some things have changed regarding how I get my reviews to her so there is a much better chance that I will appear on the show with more frequency. It had been very spotty for quite a while but now I'll be notified when I have a segment coming up so I can listen and notify interested friends. I'm even supposed to have my own jingle to introduce the segment. Don't know if that will happen with today's broadcast. I'm excited!!!

My spot will be a quick overview of what's left in the upcoming Broadway musical season. It will be about 2 minutes long.
